We enjoyed a few nights at Casa Poiana. It is very secluded, down a small little road, at one point a gravel road. We saw 2 cars go by the house in 5 days. Because a little caution driving there was needed at night, we hired a private chef from We Cook for You Italia. Luciana was fantastic and this made our stay even better since we did not have to cook! If you visit this home, I highly recommend her for a night of delicious food! Our views of Lake Bolsena made our stay very nice.

Danke an die Eigenntümer. Ein schönes Stück Erde im Italienischen Outback. Fantastisches Panorama auf den See. Abseits von Straßen und Siedlungen bietet dieses Haus alles für den selbstbestimmten Urlauber. Kleinere Herausforderungen am Haus wurden von den Eigentümern kulant und gut geregelt. Ein sehr guter Ausgangspunkt für Tripp’s in die Toskana, Umbrien und Lazio. Oder einfach da bleiben und die Natur genießen. Danke, wir kommen wieder. D.&K.&S. Just back from our second visit to Casa Poiana. The house was as good as we expected. There was a brief problem with the water supply but the owners were fantastic, sorted it very quickly and bought us a meal at a local restaurant. We were rather lazy this time but the house tends to induce that sort of behaviour - why go rushing all over the place with such great views and the town of Bolsena so close. Pretty sure we will be back next year! One tip - from Rome airport we found a nice route up the coast to Montalto di Castro and then inland via Canino where there is a great little bar for a snack.

Gemütliches, gepflegtes und gut ausgestattetes Ferienhaus mit allem was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub braucht. Der Garten und mehrere Terrassen bieten den ganzen Tag den jeweils optimalen Platz zum Ausruhen, Lesen oder Sonnenbaden. Sehr schöne Aussicht auf den See. Die Zufahrt führt teilweise über eine kleine unbefestigte Strasse und ist für ein Fahrzeug mit geringer Bodenfreiheit nur bedingt geeignet. Sehr nette und freundliche Eigentümerfamilie !

We have just spent a week at Casa Poiana and cannot recommend it highly enough. The position is really good, looking over Lago di Bolsena and with the hillside town of Montefiascone in the distance. Access is by a track which is steep and narrow in places but we managed it in a small hire car and finding it was not too difficult with the directions provided. The house has everything you could need and we have left behind some local maps and leaflets for future visitors. Everything in the house worked, which is not always the way in Italy. There were even a few English channels on the TV. Although not totally isolated the house was very quiet - no church bells every 15 minutes which can be a problem in Italy. The nearest town is Bolsena, a very pleasant lakeside resort with lots of restaurants, bars and small local shops plus a supermarket which even opens on Sunday. There is a castle, some Roman ruins and a museum. The house is well placed to explore the wider area, including Orvieto, Civita di Bagnoregio, Montefiascone, Viterbo etc.. The area was not overrun with tourists but that might be different in August. We will definitely consider a return visit.

Hemos pasado una semama inolvidable en Casa Poiana. La casa está en perfecto estado y goza de unas vistas magníficas al lago de Bolsena. Los distintos ambientes y espacios de la casa hacen que a cualquier hora o condición meteorológica tengas un espacio muy agradable para disfrutar de ella. Está situada en las afueras de Bolsena, un pueblecito encantador con mucha historia y vida. La casa goza de mucha privacidad por lo que es perfecta para parejas y tambien para familias con niños pues tienen mucho sitio para disfrutar jugando en el jardín de la casa. Es cierto que el camino de acceso es de tierra en parte pero es apto para cualquier coche normal sin problemas. María y Sean nos han facilitado mucha información de la casa y alrededores y el trato con ellos ha sido rápido y eficaz. Incluso nos prepararon la ruta desde el aeropuerto de Roma, todo un d. Tambien nos dejaron una botella de vino y comida en la nevera para la primera noche. En definitiva, nos ha encantado y sin duda recomendamos tanto la casa como la zona. Nosotros volveremos.

The only negative is that you have to travel a long way on a rutted dirt road. Passable for regular cars if you go very slow-no sports cars! It a;so should be noted that if driving from direction Orvieto it is very hard to find turn off on right and you cannot make the turn without going into other lane. Best to continue a bit and make a U turn. This being said I would rent again.

Our stay in this villa was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Located about 15min drive from the small town of Bolsena - a clean, pretty, well maintained town on the lake- it is ideal for a peaceful getaway, in the off season at least. We stayed over Easter and it was quiet, yet cafes and restaurants on the waterfront were open. The villa is well restored and laid out, and whilst not spotlessly clean (a bit of dust and cobwebs) this was more than made up for by the very well appointed kitchen, modern bathrooms, and wonderful view from 2 outdoor areas. More than enough room for me and my 2 children (sharing a bed room) and my parents. They swing in the tree, sandpit and friendly local cat were all very pleasant surprises, especially for my young children. The hosts were pleasant and helpful, when the fridge failed a new small fridge was personally delivered by the owner within 24hrs, even though it was Easter and this would have meant hours of driving for him! Access to the property was via a rough unpaved road, but if you follow the directions carefully & take it slow, its fine, even in a normal sedan. Overall a wonderful stay and we would love to return one day.

We stayed here in July '15 for one week and didn't want to leave. The views are spectacular over lake Bolsena and the house is very comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Bolsena itself was a short drive away, we could have walked into town if my husband hadn't broken his leg a few months earlier. Don't let the road put you off going here, it adds to the charm of Casa Poina, just try not to hire a low slung car, however we did and it wasn't a problem, just added to the fun. Total chillin week with amenities 10 minutes away! Thank you Maria and Sean for youre hospitality. Bellisimo!

Another wonderful stay at beautiful Casa Poiana Following a history of more than 15 years of vacations in the “undiscovered treasure” of Lazio we came up with Casa Poiana in the vicinity of Lago di Bolsena. The house sits on a secluded, almost isolated hill-side with a breathtaking view to the lake. At the same time it is within 5 minutes of a drive from the city center with all of its offerings from beach to restaurants. If one feels up to it, one can jog to the beach on “Via Francigena” and have a morning cappuccino after a twenty-five minutes of an exercise. House is very tastefully designed with quintessential Italian “chic”; complemented with distinctive style and spark. House comfortably accos are within their own peace with master bedroom attached to its own bathroom with beammodates 4 (even up to six ) and is equipped with state of the art amenities inclusive of satellite tv and WI-Fi connections. Kitchen is second to none and the open terrace provides for picturesque scenery to enjoy and entertain. 1-story setting is very spacious and bedroomutiful tile-work. Truly a unique offering in the middle of the best the lake-side Italy has to offer.
