Our stay here was perfect from start to finish, Booking was so simple and professional. The gite was immaculately clean and had everything we could possibly need and more. The hosts, Ben and Maria, were so friendly, really lovely people and very helpful, they gave us some great ideas of what to do, where to go and places to eat. The grounds and the pool were so beautiful and an absolute must as the weather was gorgeous. The river is only a couple of minutes drive and the scenery is stunning. There are so many places to visit within a very short drive and we could walk in to Domme. We would definately stay here again and we would recommend this gite 100%

Fantastic gite in a beautiful location
We have just had a wonderful week at Taire du Grel. We stayed in the Cote du Grel gite which was great for our family of five (three children - 5, 7 and 9). The kids loved being able to run off by themselves in the morning to the swings, trampoline and table tennis table and the pool was a massive hit with everyone. The gites are in a great area with so much to do - we visited Domme, Rocamadour and Rocque Gageac (and the gardens there). We also had a day on canoes down the river which was the highlight of the week. We hired the canoes from Ben at the gites and he was fantastic - he took us from the gite to the river and collected us after we had had lunch at the Chalet in Vitrac. Ben and Maria were perfect hosts - they were always available for any questions and so welcoming. We have so much more we want to see in the Dordogne and will certainly be back. I would highly recommend Taire gu Grel.

Beautiful tranquil location near Domme
Beautiful and well equipped cottage with 2 other rentals and the owners property in extensive grounds and gardens. Lovely private garden and BBQ. Great shared swimming pool.Cottage is cosy but spacious.good outdoor eating area with sun canopy.
There is a nice 15minute walk to Domme where there are lovely restaurants and there are other walks possible from the cottage,as well as bike rides and canoeing on the Dordogne itself

Vacances en famille
Nous avons séjourné dans cette maisonnette tout proche de Domme, un vrai plaisir. Nous avons pu nous y détendre après de longues journées de visites. La campagne, le calme, les poules, la balançoire, et des hôtes charmants. Je recommande cet havre de paix.

Great Location
A very pleasant Gite tucked away in the hills above the river Dordogne. Very quiet and peaceful and the hosts Ben and Maria were very hospitable. Even gave us freshly laid eggs from the chickens one morning! Then location is superb though my SatNav had great difficulty finding its way to this little gem of a place.

Beautiful Peaceful Cottage in a Stunning Location!
We visited Taire du Grel as a three day stopover during a French road trip.
It’s a really nice cottage tucked away in the hills within walking distance of the lovely medieval village of Domme.
Two good bedrooms (a double and one with two singles) and an en-suite and a main bathroom. Excellent living accommodation and fully fitted kitchen. Even UK TV on offer via a freeview box albeit the light goes out when it’s on???
The gite also has its own outside space (garden, small terrace with recliners and seating). There is a lovely pool - not quite warm enough when we were there - which is shared with the other accommodation.
Ben, Maria and their family run the accommodation and are extremely helpful both in making sure that you have all you need and in providing good recommendations for areas to visit and places to eat.
The gite is very well situated for visiting all the attractions of the Dordogne.
Domme is a short walk away. Sarlat is within 15 mins by car and the river villages of Roque Gagaec and Benyac are also just a short drive away. It is a really excellent centre to stay, relax and soak up all that the Dordogne has to offer.
If you are looking for a comfortable relaxing base to explore the Dordogne, you really ought to try this place.
We may well return for a longer stay in the future.

Very secluded pretty property
Great location set up in the hills but near enough to amenities and great attractions. Upstairs bedroom is a little tight in terms of angled ceilings, shower is very small indeed. Stairs very very steep. Downstairs very comfortable along with downstairs toilet. Kitchen could do with a few more utensils and plug sockets. Wasn't aware of dog kennels with fair amount of noice from time to time.
Really enjoyed our stay, owners were great, Ben couldn't do enough for us. Perfect retreat for 9 nights. Only sharing our thoughts but we would have no hesitation in returning as such a relaxing place to stay. The house with my above comments are only my opinion bearing in mind the property dictates what can be done to it. Keep up the good work Ben and Maria, credit to you and parents, gardens are great for the dog to roam and no traffic noise. Well done.

We're really pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us.
Our apologies for the dogs in the valley, you were here at the start of the hunting season and they're more vocal at that time. Unfortunately you get the same thing everywhere in the french countryside, nearly all farms have hunting dogs.
Thank you for letting us know about the kitchen, we'll be sure to add multi sockets and check the utensils. As for the building, it's a quirky french cottage and we try to do the best with what we have to work with.

Un paraíso
Todo perfecto. Ben es encantador, la casa está genial y las zonas comunes son un paraíso para los niños. Además las mascotas son bien recibidas. La ubicación es perfecta para visitar muchas de las maravillas de la zona. Espero que volvamos a alojarnos allí!!!!

Super stay
We chose this gite as we were two couples and wanted our own private en suite facilities. The gite is situated in a quiet location, within walking distance (about 20 mins easy walking) to Domme. It is about 20 mins drive to several "must see" tourist spots, including Roque de Gageac, Beynac, several chateaux and the Jardin de Marquessac. There's lots to do to keep visitors amused, but if you just want to relax at the gite, then the pool, plus table tennis, badminton etc. make for a relaxing, enjoyable stay in a very comfortable home from home. We enjoyed our evenings relaxing with a glass or two on the patio, enjoying the sunset, before our evening meal cooked in the very well equipped kitchen. Our hosts were discreet, and helpful when required. We would certainly recommend this gite and area for a lovely holiday in a beautiful region of France.

Paradise in the Dordogne
Cannot heap enough praise on this gorgeous gite, part of a small complex close to the lovely medieval town of Domme. It is full of character and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect with some of the best villages and towns in this part of the dordogne in easy reach and loads of interesting sites and garden. We were sent a 'what's on during your stay' email before we arrived which was brilliant in helping us to plan our week, and the quality of tourist information at the gite was second to none. Ben is a great host, super friendly and can't do enough for you, if you are active you must try the canoeing and cyling which he will organise both are superb experiences, we didn't meet Maria but she was very efficient with our booking and any queries - good quality wifi if this is your thing and English tv helped with the teenager. The restaurants recommended in Domme were great (you can walk if you want a drink but you need to be reasonably mobile) - the evening farmers markets were a great eating experience, and if you fancy a night in the pizza takeaway van in Cenac opposite the supermarket was really good. Can't recommend this holiday enough.
