We have stayed in Lake District for 10+ years - Haystacks is the best rental cottage we have stayed in. So clean and well maintained. Fully recommended.

Beautiful cottage in the heart of Braithwaite! ❤️
We booked a weekend trip direct with the owner Jo. From start to finish everything was perfect. Great communication with the owner, cottage fantastically furnished throughout with lovely little touches like fresh eggs, biscuits and milk in the fridge when we arrived. Pubs within a few mins walking distance. Lovely walks from the doorstep of the cottage into the hills, but only a 30mins stroll into Keswick. Would highly recommend and will return.

Home from home
Wonderful stay in Haystacks. We walked in to a really clean cottage. The bed linen smelt amazing the towels too. Perfect size for 3 adults 2 children. Great communication from host Jo. She gave us great tips on places to go with the kids. We have been coming to braithwaite since I was a kid and I didn’t know some of the places Jo recommended. We would stay again the cottage has everything you need to cook. Fresh eggs, milk and a bottle of Prosecco left for us and a bar of chocolate for my boys. We need to try to come in summer to enjoy the beautiful garden. Thanks Jo

Perfect!
Haystacks is a perfect getaway in a stunning location. We were delighted with all the little touches from local eggs, milk and wine to greet us. The house was spotlessly clean. A great walk-in shower and comfy beds. Everything you needed to cook with. 2 pubs close by and lots of trails close by. Great kitchen with doors opening to a lovely garden, great for sitting and watching all the birds. The owner was in touch to make sure all was ok. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend.

Beautiful house in gorgeous location
We had an incredible week at this beautiful cottage. The owners have thought of everything to make sure you have a wonderful stay. We were very lucky to have amazing weather and the garden was a lovely sun trap on an evening. We stay in the Lakes a lot, usually in Keswick or Windermere, but we are now huge fans of Braithwaite and this is by far the best house we have stayed at. Thank you for a perfect week.

Great location
A great house located in the heart of Braithwaite, the house had everything we needed and was within easy walking distance for the village shop and pub. A great base to explore the Lakes.

Excellent Cottage - Haystacks
We had a fabulous time at Haystacks cottage, Jo (the owner) was very helpful and easy to get hold of if we needed her. The cottage was spotlessly clean had everything we needed and more. The beds were large and very comfortable! The welcome basket on arrival was very much appreciated. The children loved the stay as well and they liked that there was Netflix on the TV and a selection of games that they could also play. There are a couple of pubs in the village all within walking distance the one right next to the cottage is the Royal Oak, very friendly staff and the food was really nice too. There is also a village shop that is ideal if you need a couple of essentials. The lady there is very friendly and her fresh homemade pies are yummy!! Great place to stay for exploring the area and only a 5 minute drive into Keswick.
All in all a fab family break away - we will definitely be returning.

Fabulous House
This is an absolutely immaculate property in a spectacular location in Braithwaite. Everyone is extremely friendly in the village from the local pub folk, at the nearby Royal Oak, to the local village shop staff and owner. The surrounding countryside is breathtaking and lends itself to long walks and offers beautiful views over the surrounding fells. The host is responsive and helpful and I hope we will be able to visit soon again.

Haystacks was amazing. We stayed here with some friends on it last trip to the lakes. The location is great, close enough to Keswick while being away from the crowds. I would definitely stay here again.

Haystacks - An Absolute Gem
Our second stay in this delightful cottage. The cottage is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything we could possibly have needed for our stay. We were lucky with the weather this year and enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden with views of Grisedale Pike and Barrow.
The whole family had an amazing time, so much so we we are coming back next year 😊
