Built in the 1800s this stone walled coach house is a step back in time with some modern conveniences. There is a tv, WiFi, full kitchen, dish washer, clothes washer, hair dryer and microwave plus other modern items. The fire place warmed the room on a chilly September night as we relaxed after 10 days of travel around the country. The house is located off the beaten path. A great get away place.
We were greeted by the hosts Mark and Margaret. They shared their knowledge of the building and the home they live in next door. They were very helpful and interesting and available to assist their guests with their needs.
Chickens, a rooster and other animals live on the property.
Kilkenny is about a 25 minutes drive away. The small town of Inistioge is close by but the store and eateries close early.

Was like meeting up with old friends.
Very neat cottage. Margaret and Mark greeted us as if we were old friends who came for a visit. Great advice for our trip. Mark recommended a visit to Cahir Castle, and we had a great time there. Thanks so much

We never get tired of this place
What can I say, we have been going to mark and Maggie's cottage for the last 3 years we love it!
Places around are jerpoint abbey, Nicholas Mosse pottery Kilkenny castle plus loads more.
Mark and Maggie will help you with anything you need. The cottage has everything you would need even if a child or baby stays
My two kids have autism but they absolutely love it here with chicken and Cockerel running around but don't worry they get put any and don't disturb you
The village its self has cafes and pubs and has beautiful views

Fantastisch!
DUTCH Wij hadden een geweldige week in de cottage van Margareth en Mark. Het is echt zo idyllisch als op de foto's en het is voorzien van alle gemakken (zoals wasmachine-droger, oven, magnetron, DVD-speler). Onze dochter was erg blij met de wifi die het goed deed. We hebben veel gebruik gemaakt van de houtkachel, iedere avond was ie aan, heel knus. Margareth en Mark waren erg enthousiast en behulpzaam, geweldig leuke mensen. Dat maakte onze vakantie extra speciaal.
ENGLISH We had a wonderful week at the Coach House, it is really as idyllic as the pictures promise and all the things to make you comfortable are available (like a washer, dryer, oven, microwave, DVD-player). Our daughter was very happy with the wifi, that worked very good. We loved the fire place, used it every evening. Margareth and Mark were very enthousiastic and helpful, great hosts! Made our holiday special, many thanks!

Good location for exploring the South-East of Ireland
Australian Couple mid 60’s with own transport.
St Columb's Coach House is situated just outside the village of Inistioge in County Kilkenny, Ireland.
Innistioge is an attractive village built alongside the river and comprises a large church and 3 pubs. Food is available at the pubs. Each pub had its own atmosphere. There is no grocery food outlet but the nearby towns of New Ross and Thomastown provide all facilities.
The accommodation is a rectangular stone and slate roofed barn and coach house converted into holiday accommodation. The exposed stone and wooden floors throughout the interior is a feature. The accommodation comprises a ground floor and mezzanine floor. Approximate size of the ground floor is 15 metres by 5 metres. The mezzanine is about 40% of the size of the ground floor. There is also an attached sun room approximately 3 metres by 2.5 metres.
The ground floor comprises a combined sitting room (with slow combustion solid fuel heater), dining and kitchen area, a large bedroom (approximately 6 metres by 5 metres) with a double bed and a good sized bathroom (approximately 3 metres by 2.5 metres) with toilet, bath and hand held shower.
The mezzanine (approximately 6 metres by 5 metres) comprises a good size bedroom with a double bed and a single bed and a good size bathroom (approximately 2 metres by 2.5 metres) with toilet and shower cubicle.
All beds have electric blankets.
In addition to the solid fuel fire the building has central heating which operates on an adjustable (by the tenant) timer. Heating oil and electricity are charged according to usage. The cost for the 8 days we were there was just over 50 Euro.
There were only the two of us and we lived on the ground floor. The setup of the accommodation would be very convenient for 2 couples travelling together.
The WIFI was fast and reliable.
The sitting room has a couch and 2 lounge chairs, the solid fuel fire and a flat screen television. The television pictures were excellent. A large container of fuel was provided for the fire.
The kitchen comprises an electric stove with 4 hotplates and oven, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle etc. A washing machine/dryer is also provided. Cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils are provided. There is a table with 6 chairs.
Both bathrooms were clean with no “off smells”. The water was hot and the pressure was good. The toilets flushed well.
We had our own transport, based ourselves for 8 days, and wagon-wheeled out into the surrounding country.
The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable. The hosts live on the property. They were friendly and available but not intrusive.
I can not recommend this accommodation more highly.
Would I recommend this holiday rental to my best friend? Yes.

Charmant cottage
Ce cottage est tout à fait conforme à l'idée que nous nous en faisions.
Le lieu et les hôtes sont d'excellents représentants d'une Irlande accueillante et discrète.un bel endroit pour se reposer.
Nous avons pu profiter du court de tennis et d'après midi de lecture sous le "gazebo" - un genre de gloriette - avec un refuge sympathique auprès du feu de bois en cas d'averse -c'est l'Irlande !- .
Le confort n'est pas celui d'un 4 étoiles mais tout y est et le charme est incroyable.

Just as We Imagined it.
What a smashing property, a renovated Coach house which had been made very comfortable without losing any of it's character.
Mark and Maggie where brilliant, there if need but left us to do our thing, would certainly use the property again if in that region

Perfect Stay for Family of 5
Beautiful property and home. Perfect rental for a family of 5. Nice kitchen, great interior and grounds. Nice small town with pubs and cafe. Should have stayed longer!

Welcoming and homely
My family are from Ireland so I decided to bring my own family to see where I went on holiday as a child. Two of my kids are autistic and they loved it. The cottage was so warm and homely with a wonderful open fire, plenty of firewood. Even though the cottage is all stone it was lovely and warm. My son loved it so much he wanted to sleep on the sofa in front of the fire.
Mark and Maggie are very welcoming and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We also chatted to their youngest daughter they are all so friendly.
I could go on for ever.we loved it that much, that before we left we booked for two weeks this year....and the kids can't wait.
If you are having doubts then don't just go x
