I miss Knockatinna already, having spent a lovely two weeks in its embrace! It's truly in the country, but only a five minute drive from a delightful village (Glenbeigh - with several wonderful pubs, including the Olde Glenbeigh, with origins dating back to the late 1700's).
The house was truly outfitted for "self-catering", with all kitchen accoutrements on hand. Linens, towels, etc., were amply furnished. The house is well heated, but for chill evenings, two fireplaces add to the charm of the place.
From Knockatinna we toured the Ring of Kerry, the Dingle Penninsula (greeting Fungie, the friendly Dolphin in Dingle Bay), Blarney Castle, Cashel of the Kings and Cork City as well as Bunratty, Durty Nellie's and the unbelievable Cliffs of Moher. We enjoyed spectacular beaches, the Bog Museum, classic Irish farms and pastures, pristine lakes, and of course, embracing Irish hospitality served up by John and Kathleen O'Shea and their fabulous daughter, Laura. All made for a wondrous holiday which we would love to repeat as soon as possible.
