Manot house
Lovely home in a nice french village .Our family of 6 really enjoyed staying and the pool was a big hit.
The setting is ideal as a base for exploring the lovely villages and towns in the area .Alison and Brian were very helpful but never intrusive and a font of knowledge on places to visit.Manot is a quiet french village and very peaceful . No hesitation in recommending this as a ideal break

Home from home
Chez Pineau is a great cottage and equipped with everything anyone might require. Two shower/bathrooms great supply of hot water and a good washing machine! Tastefully and well renovated, the cottage is in the centre of the village and very handily places for visiting the nearby towns as well as some great walks. Visit the Manor Ceramics cafe and pottery - Michael and Dee will give you a great welcome. The village shop and post office handily places within minutes. The village de Vacances has a great place to grab a coffee and places next to the river lovely place to chill out. We had very mixed weather. Terrific winds, rain and then glorious sunshine but there is plenty to do in any event. Games and books at the cottage as well as tv. Also the little garden is perfect to eat out when the sun shines.
Alison and Brian who own the house were extremely accommodating and helpful. We feel as though we are making friends all the time as we travel through France. The tiny market on Wednesdays at Anzac has great fish and vegetables. Oh and the village shop in Manot will order bread and croissants for the following morning. The chippy at Confolens was a welcome taste of home. There is an open air pool near Confolens which was wonderful and very cheap. Men - don’t forget your speedos as you can’t swim in shorts at French pools. All in all a very pretty place. A good centre to travel.

Fijn dat Je in het dorpje brood kunt kopen. Dat is een heerlijke start van de dag.

Very nice and relaxing holiday in a quiet little village
Brian and Alison are very nice people who have a nice little 3 bedroom town house in Manot which is a little village between confolens and romaziers (thats not how it is spelt) The village is pretty but basic however you are only 5 mins drive to confolens which has all amenities required. A major plus point of this holiday was the private garden and pool which is just 1 mins walk from the house front door. The pool is a nice size for our 6 year old girl and Brian and Alison helpfully provide access to a toilet and cool box in a shed in the garden which means you do not have to keep going backwards and forwards to the main house. Also I would recommend a visti to confolens river where you can hire peddlos and canoes and romaziers payd'or which is a man made beach in a park which is great.
My only point for improvement is that Brian and Allison do not offer a cleaning service and I feel that really this is something that should be offered. I would have been happy to have paid 50 euros for a professional cleaner to go to the house the morning of the day we arrived and cleaned the house. But besides this we really have no negative comments.

Many thanks for your review and we are pleased that you enjoyed your two weeks with us in Manot to the extent that you are considering buying a house in the village- good luck with your negotiations.Thanks for the kind comments about the cottage, private garden and pool with the extra amenities.As regards your comments about professional cleaners and paying extra, in actual fact we do utilise a professional cleaner to do a 'Spring Clean' for the first occupants of the season which in this case was yourselves.Regrettably not everyone is keen to pay an excess for a cleaning service so we include it in the rental charge. However if you could be kind enough to indicate in an email to me what was your particular dissatisfaction, I will point it out to the company concerned and no doubt will benefit everyone for the future.Once again thanks for taking the time to review Chez Pineau, good luck in the future and hope to see you again. Brian and Alison

perfect family hoilday
A lovely, old house, with everything you need - space, wonderful hosts, lots and lots of things to do and try in the area. A perfect place to spend quality time with the family. Our kids (6 and 11) loved it - especially the pool.
Ein wunderbers, altes Haus mit allem was man braucht - Platz, tolle Vermieter und viele, viele Sachen die man in der Umgebung machen und ausprobieren kann. Ein perfekter Ort, um viel Zeit mit der Familie zu verbringen und das nicht nur am Pool, der von unseren Kindern (6 und 11) direkt in Beschlag genommen wurde.

A warm welcome, peaceful beautiful village
We had a lovely stay here, the hosts were welcoming and helpful and the garden and pool were wonderful - peaceful and scenic. We had two children (6 & 8) and it was perfect for them. The village doesn't have many facilities but is in a great location, with good supermarkets a few minutes drive away.

Calme ,dépaysant,hotes discrets
Merci à Alison et Brian pour leur charmant accueil avec bouteille en prime!
La maison est fonctionnelle et la piscine privée sur un grand terrain de jeu est un plus pour les enfants!
Aux alentours ,il y a aussi pas mal d'activités à faire et des monuments à visiter si nous avions pu nous serions restées plus longtemps!!!

Perfect spot with perfect hosts
We are a family of five - three of whom are teenage boys. The house was a great size and well equipped - the two bathrooms were really useful and with the lovely sunny weather were really glad of the electric fans in the rooms. The pool was a bonus - about 20ft across, much bigger than it looks in the photos - and although it is in the owner's garden, it is very private with sun loungers and pool toys. The area itself was gorgeous with plenty to see and do. We had a great afternoon kayaking on the nearby river and enjoyed the velorail which was just up the road. Would definitely recommend - Alison and Brian are lovely but not intrusive and we really appreciated the many personal touches they provide that made the stay even more special.

Lovely house and fantastic private pool.
The couple who own the house are brilliant hosts, making sure that we had everything we needed even when we arrived later in the evening and all the shops were closed. The house felt like home and there were board games, free wifi, British TV and DVD's. The pool is very well looked after and there are outside games provided. Basically a home from home and great for a family break.

Perfect location for chilling out
My family has just spent a fantastic two weeks at this lovely old house in Manot. The owners
were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They did not intrude at all but we knew where they
were if we had needed anything. The village is lovely and there are many attractions, supermarkets and restaurants nearby. Our favourite part of the holiday was the exclusive use of a fantastic swimming pool and a very large garden. The pool is surrounded by a decking area which is equipped with sun beds, tables and parasols. There are also sun beds for use in the garden. Equipment for games in the garden was also provided. There is also a cool box provided so that you can have ice cold drinks by the pool. We spent many days by the pool relaxing and chilling - its was fantastic!
