Good location - Peaceful
The closest hotel to Ancient Theater of Epidaurus.
Comfortable rooms but need updating. Definitely new TV's
Excellent service, good authentic greek breakfast.
Family run hotel. We Enjoyed our stay. Definitely will go back.

Quoi de mieux?
De passage vers Patras, il ne faut évidement pas rater le théâtre d’Épidaure.
Coup de chance, il y a cet hôtel familial à deux km du site. Accueil très gentil, prix très raisonnables.

Walk to ancient Epidavros
The hotel was easy to find just at the intersection of the main road to ancient Epidavros. Tassos was an incredibly friendly and welcoming host and ensured that I was completely happy and helped to direct me to a few locations i wanted to visit and helped me find somewhere to have my laundry done and made suggestions for restaurants in Ligourio. They arranged an early breakfast for me so I could get my day off to an extra early start. I walked to the ancient site of Epidavros in about a half hour. Tassos offered me a bike but i was happy to walk. The hotel was very quiet even there was a group. If i ever get back to visit the Peloponnese I will go back to the Avaton for a few nights.

The first hotel at the area
Near to the anciant theater of Epidavros only one km far very good servis cool atmosfere .the owners mother and son ar very worm great hospitality feel like home .few rooms so no many people very cool .i

motel retro style
a great family hotel with the allure of an american motel in the crossroad to nowhere..But it is in the haert of the Ancient Theatre only 800 metres away. A great getaway that will travel you in time. Gret owners great night breeze for a good nights sleep

Εξαιρετικός χώρος με υπέροχο πρωινό από αγνά τοπικά εδέσματα.....σε ένα χώρο γεμάτο θετική ενέργεια και αύρα Επιδαύρια!!! Τα δωμάτια είναι πεντακάθαρα και ο εξωτερικός χώρος μέσα σε ένα καταπράσινο κήπο από εξαιρετικα φυτά. Η Κυρία Αγγελική και ο Τάσος είναι η ψυχή του Άβατον και πάντα πρόθυμοι να σας κάνουν να νιώσετε άνετα και φιλόξενα...αλλά και τόσο κοντά στο χώρο της Επιδάυρου!!!

Excellent service, hospitality, cleanliness, location for Epidavros, bus to and from beyond, etc. etc.!
We three British middle aged guys were visiting the great ancient theatre of Epidavros and looked into staying locally afterwards on the Saturday night.
We found this hotel on B com at a good price including breakfast. I had not researched it on TA before my friends booked it.
We took the 14:30 coach from Nafplio to The Ancient Theatre and beyond via Liguria. The coach driver picked people up and later dropped people off on demand so we thought we could be dropped outside the hotel. We tracked our journey on Maps Me and as we approached we moved to the front and asked the driver to stop. He carried on right past the obvious hotel at speed saying 'later, wait' despite my protestations. We continued to Epidavros site and dropped off some tourists, then doubled back towards the hotel on the loop road eventually stopping in a lay-by by the junction where the hotel was. We thanked the driver and got off to walk the 150m to the hotel. I assessed the road for safe parking/dropping off and it was obvious that we had been dropped at the correct place. If only we had known we would not have panicked!
We arrived at the locked hotel entrance and made our presence known. A guy popped out of a room, welcomed us as we were prebooked and expected and introduced himself as 'Tassus'.
Tassus showed us to our corner room #14 along the walkway and it was all very nice with a big window overlooking a big garden with trees, a small rough road and fields. Later I took a stroll around the grounds to find grape vines, ancient wheelbarrows and a well manicured central courtyard.
The triple room had a single and twin beds next to each other, a dressing table with a large mirror and THREE glasses on it (usually only two per triple room!). Each bed was made up with clean linen and a set of two towels.
A small crt tv was above a medium sized fridge.
The blue bathroom had a ceramic tray shower with plastic curtain shielding the toilet. A mosquito net covered the openable window frame. A bin was also provided. The sink with mirror had a light overhead for shaving etc. and the water pressure was good for jetting out a razor.
We settled in and decided to have a late lunch/snack on the terrace which was very pleasant despite being on the main road. There was ample vegetation to isolate us from the occasional car's passing.
After lunch we took advantage of the two bicycles offered by Tassus to cycle to Epidavros Sanctuary and Theatre complex where we had a great time after the crowds had gone and we stayed to the closing time. Our friend walked both ways as he cannot cycle a bicycle but he enjoyed the walk past the real sheep, goats and shepherd (who, incidentally, invited me back for cheese that night!)
We were told by Tassus that the local Propilo Coffee Bar 200m away was showing the Greek Cup Final which we were interested in. We were also interested in Eurovision final later on. That night we were going to go native!
After returning from the theatre and sanctuary we popped into the room to change into warmer clothes for the forthcoming evening. We were followed into the room by a very friendly cat and this was not a problem for us at all. We had to let it out as we left though obviously!
After three venues (Propilo Coffee Bar - AOK v PAOK, To Steki - Eurovision, and Amadeus (EV results - an Israeli Bjork won!!) and lots of food and drink (eating great pizzas in the very local and open late 'Steki' a long dark mile walk into Ligourio) we got back very late and slept well, no noise at all at the back corner room.
In the morning we had a very local, substantive and satisfying breakfast on the main terrace which included odd small orange coloured tasty fruits with big stones in from his own garden. There was in effect limitless coffee too and the homemade marmalade was very good!
As it was a Sunday and we wanted to get a bus to Epidavros Port (Palea Epidavros) the early bus had supposedly already left so Tassus offered to order us a taxi for €20 all the way. As there was no rush we spent a relaxing hour on his patio using the good wifi (not so good in the corner room 14 but it was a long way) and outside mains socket to keep us charged up! We were also joined by a playful dog and cat which kept us happy! See them in the pics of breakfast.
We left when the taxi arrived at 11:40 and bad Tassus farewell. He had been very friendly and chatted about lots of issues as well as being very helpful, including lending us those bicycles for free. We left very happy and wondered why we were the very only guests there by the look of it (maybe others left earlier). I hope his splendid business does well as he works hard to maintain it in a very good setting.

Μέτριο προς κακό
Μείναμε ένα βράδυ με αφορμή παράσταση στο αρχαίο θέατρο. Το ξενοδοχείο χρειάζεται μια σοβαρη ανακαίνιση. Το μπάνιο ήταν παρά πολύ παλιό. Το πρωινό ήταν πολύ φτωχό, για παράδειγμα δυο πολύ λεπτές φέτες ψωμί σαν τσιγάροχαρτο με ένα κουταλάκι του γλυκού μέλι.

Εξαιρετικό !!!
Σίγουρα μια τίμια πρόταση για τα χρήματα που δώσαμε. Τέλεια εξυπηρέτηση από τους ιδιοκτήτες και πολύ ωραίο πρωινό. Σε εξαιρετική τοποθεσία, πολύ κοντά στην Επίδαυρο αλλά και στο ΝΑΥΠΛΙΟ ( μόλις 20 λεπτά με έναν ολοκαίνουργιο δρόμο. ). Απόλαυσε τον καφέ το,βραδάκι στον όμορφο κήπο. Επίσης παρά πολυ εύκολα το χρησιμοοπεις σαν ορμητήριο για μονοήμερη εκδρομή : στον Πόρο στις Σπ

πολυ ωραιο.
Μειναμε πολυ ευχαριστημενες! Παρα πολυ ευγενικος ο ιδιοκτητης αλλα και η κυρια! Το πρωινό μας μαγεψε! Χορτασαμε τοσο καλα! ειχε φυσικό χυμο πορτοκαλι, τσαι ή καφε, φέτες ψωμιού με βουτυρο, μαρμελάδα, μέλι, αυγό κέικ, μας προσφερε και γλυκό πορτοκαλι για τη φιλη μου που εχει βιγκαν διατροφη. Το δωματιο συνδιαζε επιπλα μοντερνα με στοιχεια παλαιακα αλλα δεν μας πειραξε καθολου. Πολυ κοντα με το θεατρο. Πληρωσαμε 48€ για μια νυχτα - 3 ατομα. ιουνιος 2017.
