River's Edge Cottage was built in 1905 and is just 18 metres from the river's edge. It is in a very private setting with magnificent 100 year old English Elm trees surrounding the cottage along with beautiful established gardens. It has a well equipped kitchen, bathroom with bath and separate shower, plus ensuite, reverse cycle air conditioning in lounge room with TV, DVD and Foxtel Premium Package. Docking station provided. There is no Wi-Fi due to poor reception.
You have a campfire area beside the river, so enjoy cooking a marshmellow or two.

My family stayed in Rivers Edge and Yellow Box
cottages for two nights so we could celebrate my mother’s ninetieth birthday.
A week before Christmas in the middle of a drought with bushfires flaring up along the Hume Highway didn’t seem like the best choice of time.
Elm Cottage though is a wonderful retreat from the world we deal with from day to day - into the beauty of nature.
The accommodation was so good - comfortable and well appointed with private spaces to retreat to.
Each day we spent the afternoons in the river, and came up to eat on the deck amongst the trees at Rivers Edge and the second night used the large kitchen, dining and deck at Yellow Box.
Everyone loved it - and we would love to do it again.
Most importantly Mum had the surprise of her life and a wonderful time.

We stayed in the Rivers Edge Cottage and must say it was very clean an extremely comfortable for our family of four, it has everything you need for a relaxing and quiet holiday, it’s just so nice relaxing on the verandah under the huge macadamia nut tree only meters from the river or spending time at the fire beside the river.
We even caught some trout in the river right out the front.
There is so much to see and do in Tumut and surrounding areas and we felt Elm Cottage was the perfect place to stay and we will definitely be back.

Very peaceful.
Suzy and I had a wonderful time here.
Meters from Sheep and Cows. Campfire, river, picturesque views, close to Tumut.
The place was very clean and comfortable.
We will return to stay when next we decide to travel to the Snowy Mountains.

Fantastic accomodation for 2 families right near the river, peaceful and a 45 minute drive to mount Selwyn for the snow! Cottage was very clean and very well fitted out, very comfortable king size beds, full kitchen and ensuite.
A lovely peaceful and quiet location, perfect for the quiet get away! Will be looking at a spring or summer booking.
If your looking for a well priced and excellent accomodation for a retreat you couldn't find a better location! Highly recommended!

A little paradise
It's an amazing place to spend a couple of days with family and friends! We enjoyed the sound of the little river, birds and animals around. Perfect location and the cottage has everything you need for a short stay. We booked it for 2 nights and at the end of the the stay we realised that we should have stayed a few more days. We decided to go for a week in summer time. Hope to be back soon. The owners live near by and they are there if you need any help. It's simply a little paradise in Australia.
