Gorgeous ocean relaxation
This is truly a magical place. The view of the ocean from the patio is breathtaking, we spent many hours sitting out there just taking it in! The location is like being in the countryside, with practically private beaches a 3 minute walk down the driveway, and all
the good food of Rincon a 10 min drive away. Amazing wildlife - birds, and snorkeling just down the hill. The apartment had everything we needed including beach chairs, towels, and umbrella. The kitchen was great too, appreciated the full size fridge. AC kept the place nice and cool. Definitely recommend 4WD on your car - the driveway is extremely steep, and the local roads are narrow & very hilly. We hope to return and the from the guestbook it looks like some folks have returned every year for 8 years!

Exactly what we wanted.
My wife and I live in San Juan, PR. We were looking for a peaceful, attractive, pet friendly place to stay near a beach on the west coast. We found it! The beach is never crowded, with wonderfully warm water and plenty of shade. It’s maybe a 2 minute walk from the house. There’s a nice yard for our chihuahua (who learned to surf at the beach in her PFD), our cockatiel enjoyed the change of scenery, and the owner, Joe, was so friendly and accommodating. Meals on the porch were a treat, overlooking the sea, watching the pelicans and frigate birds fly by, or marveling at the gorgeous sunsets each evening.
There’s lots to do close by for those seeking more adventure, or to eat out. Our trip was to relax.
We would recommend this seaside paradise to anyone, no matter what they’re looking for on the west coast of PR. I hope we can return soon.

Perfect
Im a few years late writing this review, but i absolutely loved being here.the location is private and right next to the beach and the owner of the home is really nice. He gave us must see places and at the end you get to write in a booklet in the room that you can tell future guests of the experience and places to recommend to see as well. I do plan to revisit this place in the future. Oh and after i got back to new york, a friend of mine recognized my photos of the place and realized she also stayed here too! So if that doesnt say that this is an amazing place then i dont know what does! Happy visiting.

Secluded simple lovely home with gorgeous ocean view and fabulous patio
My husband and I stayed at the Barrero Beach Hideaway from Jan. 2-8. The apartment is in a beautiful private two family home located on the first floor. There are glass-paned doors leading from the bedroom to the large terracotta patio with a barbecue and a lovely table where you can delight in the glorious view of flowers, palm trees and the glorious ocean. At night, the waves are like nature's music. There is everything you need in the apartment to cook and the owners, Joe and his lovely wife, Pilar, are extremely friendly, responsible, and response to your needs. Everything is clean and the shower is great. You have to drive up a steep and winding driveway to get to the house but it's worth it. We walked down to the beach and we were the only ones there but watch out for the rocks. Joe will tell you the best spots to swim, and anything else you might want to know about the area. It was fantastic. Close to highways and town. We look forward to coming again.

Excellent stay in Rincon
Very nice stay, everything we needed in a nice location. Joseph did an excellent job ensuring we were happy, and advised us on things to do in the area. The patio is awesome, with an outstanding view and was our go-to every morning and evening. Overall excellent experience.

Like staying with family
This gem of a house is on the best beach in Rincon for finding sea glass. The terrace can't be beat, the views are amazing and endless. We saw whales playing in the water one evening .The apt. is comfortable,clean and well organized.Nice to have the pantry stocked with basics. Just bring food and clothing !
The shower is big with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. We love the area, with locals that are friendly and a lot of dogs to play with. The walk down to the beach is great exercise. We found fresh grouper for the grill at The Meat Market of Rincon in town. Delicious!!

Amazing sunset and great beach
Joseph's apartment was absolutely lovely. Sitting on the patio watching the waves and the sunset was what vacation was made for. The beach is just steps away. Joseph is helpful without ever being intrusive. We look forward to returning

Two Weeks in Paradise
This sits on a hill high above beautiful Barrero Beach which is great for romantic walks, collecting sea glass, dips in the warm ocean waters and, depending upon the weather patterns, sometimes surfing.
The apartment has a fantastical view of the ocean, and you can hear the surf beating against the shore at night. I spent most mornings on the porch watching the roseate rays of sunlight chase away the night, and saw just as many technicolor sunsets.
Joe and Pilar were wonderful hosts and we hope to make a return visit.

A home away from home!!!
We spent 6 nights in Rincon , at the Barrero Beach Apartment. It was perfect for our family the accommodations were just what we needed. Joe and his beautiful wife Pilar treated us like family and that was priceless. The balcony and ocean view were breath-taking we loved it! Everyone we met in the neighborhood was kind, and helpful. The location can't be beat the property sats basically right on the ocean with a calming sunset, and no crowds. The kitchen area was well equipped, as we did most of our own cooking. Before we departed, we let Joe know we would definitely be booking this property again in 2017. Highly recommend!!

Whale watching while sitting on the patio
My daughter and I had a great stay here. The patio is awesome ...great for viewing the ocean incl humpback whales migrating. The apartment has everything and then some. Thank you Joe and Pilar.
