Nice Accommodation but needs a some tic ....
Tavira is a great holiday destination much quieter than the bigger resorts in the West Algarve. Lots of heritage in the resort with great restaurants within easy walking distance even after the 120 steps. The accommodation is a three bedroom townhouse and this is the third one on the complex we have stayed in albeit it was 7 years since we had been here. It’s a really nice complex , quiet , nice pool and townhouses are good. We were disappointed with a few things hence my average rating this time. Arrangements for entry didn’t go well the phone number given didn’t work and it took a few emails and calls to the other number from the agents email we eventually got in. Firstly the garage was empty and for security of our rental car we prefer a garage. Unfortunately there was no remote for the garage and agent said it wouldn’t work and would get back to us. Air conditioner in main room didn’t work and I emailed the agent but was not fixed by time we left. It leaked water onto the suite. Lock on door out to pool was broken and only way to secure townhouse was by using shutters. On some occasions the shutters didn’t work. Chipped plates, curtain pole held up with sellotape, and some general wear and tear of cupboards in kitchen and instructions for washing machine would have helped. Overall we enjoyed the stay but were disappointed with condition of townhouse but didn’t let it spoil our holiday too much. Communication with smartvillas were difficult and they didn’t really sort out any of the issues for us. If some small remedial work was done on the property I could easily recommend.

I do apologies for not replying sooner, I missed your review when it came in and am only seeing it now. I'm so sorry that the communication with Smartavillas was difficult and I have since been in contact with them and have been assured that this will not happen again. I have sent them your review and they have since fixed all problems with our townhouse. The shutters have since been fixed as has the door out to the pool, but I can understand your frustration on these things not working to the standard that they should have been. The summer months were busy and unfortunately things got broken, but these are usually fixed as soon as Smartavillas are aware that there is a problem. I do hope that it doesn't stop you visiting Tavira again in the future and once again would like to thank you for your review and I'm glad it didn't ruin your holiday.

Wonderful place to stay
We’ve stayed at the townhouse 3 times now and absolutely love the place. The townhouse is very well equipped and Michelle and the team that look after the property locally can’t do enough for you. The house is in a great spot on the complex, close to the baby pool but with lots of space right outside the door for sunbathing. The centre of Tavira is a ten minute stroll away via “the steps”. Can’t wait for our next visit!

Great House & so close to Tavira
The town house is lovely. Very large, comfy and well equipped. The management team on the ground are excellent - a warm welcome and supportive & very professional through the week when we had a few issues (of our own making) The complex is quiet and well cared for and the house is just by the infamous 120 steps to Tavira, so getting into town couldn't be simpler or quicker. Great house - definitely be going back

great family-friendly townhouse
Tavira is a pleasant 10 min walk from this perfect townhouse. The facilities were excellent, beds really comfy, kitchen well equipped, the pool was stunning, and the rooftop terrace was ideal for sunbathing, chilling and the odd evening meal. Michelle the owner was really helpful, emailing a couple of times to ensure everything was ok. with her house-manager picking us up from the train station which was a nice touch. (We never did work out the TV, even after detailed explanations on how it works, but who really needs a TV on holiday?) Air-con in the bedrooms is on a timer during the day which may confuse some guests, it did us initially, but no problem. Cannot recommend highly enough, excellent stay.

We stayed in this beautiful property in August, it’s got so much space and it’s very well appointed. The patio doors open out to a little patio which also leads to the lovely pool area. The house is stunning and truly exceeded our expectations. The owner Michelle is very approachable and is extremely quick to respond to any queries that we had. Tavira is a very special place with great restaurants (highly recommend D’Dusta, and Tavira Lounge) but be warned you need to prebook in advance. The beach can be reached by ferry €2 return, Tavira island beach is stunning but be prepared for a bit of a hike. I would highly recommend this lovely place.

Fabulous townhouse, spacious and comfortable.
We stayed in Michelle’s townhouse for 8 nights in July. We are a family of 5 adults and it was an excellent choice for us. The house is spacious, immaculate, comfortable and very well appointed. There are sunny and shady terraces for relaxation throughout the day. We have stayed in the complex previously over several years and are familiar with the location, the town and of course the steps! Michelle’s house is without doubt superior to any other rental property in the complex as it is so well equipped. The kitchen has every utensil you could wish for. The beds are very comfortable ensuring a great night’s sleep. This house would also suit a family with young children as it is very convenient to the kiddie pool. Michelle is a most solicitous hostess but we wanted for nothing and enjoyed a very relaxed family holiday. We would hope to return!

Gorgeous Townhouse with exellent amenities
We are just back from an amazing stay in this gorgeous townhouse in Tavira. We travelled as a group of 6 adults who were attending a family wedding in Cabanas and Os Agostos. Tavira is located in the middle of both. The townhouse was an amazing find. The pictures do not do it justice. It is located just a ten minute walk from Tavira town. There are steps directly across from the front door which will lead you straight down. Directly across from the back door was the swimming pool in the complex which was so quiet that it was like our own private pool. The house is gorgeous. There are four floors and it is so spacious. There is a BBQ on the rooftop available for use which was such a treat and the views of Tavira are amazing. The WiFi was brilliant and there was also Netflix available. It would be ideal for families travelling with children too. Michelle, the owner, was brilliant and sent me on so much information before we left. Tavira is a quiet town but there are some lovely restaurants. The blank anchor Irish Bar is very close to the house and has a great atmosphere at night. I would highly recommend this townhouse and hope to go back soon.

Relaxing holiday
The accommodation is large and roomy and clean. The complex is well cared for. At the end of September we had perfect weather & the complex was very quiet. Several days we had the pool ( which is a good size) to ourselves. Tavira is lovely with good places to eat. It is quiet, but that's what we wanted. We did struggle with the wifi.

Quality accomodation in a nice part of Tavira
The property is located in a quiet area of Tavira and the steps nearby aren't too bad - although there are 119 to get up and down to get into town. The apartment is well equipped and my family really enjoyed the privacy of the roof terrace whilst also enjoying the nearby pool. The bedrooms were roomy and the ensuite bathroom in the main bedroom is very big. The other bathroom had a jacuzzi bath too. The kitchen is modern with everything available that you would need during your stay. However, it gets really hot during the morning and its a pity that aircon wasn't available in the kitchen. The only negative on the apartment was the lack of working Sky ( all channels have now been blocked) and very limited internet - whilst the Wifi worked fine, the speed of the connection was pretty poor and my family had to use their own data rather than connecting to Wifi. However, overall this was pretty minor and outside of the owner's control. We did have a couple of small issues but Michelle resolved these really quickly (even though it was a Sunday) and got the manager out to the property without delay. Overall we had a lovely stay in these apartments and if you're looking for quality accomodation a short walk outside of Tavira, I would recommend this property.

Not too far out from the centre of Tavira but quite a few steps to negotiate, not suitable for the elderly or disabled
The apartment was clean and a reasonable size for a small group. A few things not good. The television and DVD player did not work, evidently because a code had not been put in previously, and the tv engineer was in the UK. We were the first to rent the apartment this year but it would have been better to put these things in order before we arrived. Also, we were not given the apartment's number and the taxi driver was not able to take us directly to it. We eventually found Margarita, who had the key, but it was still a stressful experience. Tavira was an interesting and unspoit town and worth a visit. There is a train and taxis are not too expensive to get around. We liked Santa Luzia, and there is a good walk from Vila Real to Monte Gordo through Chameleon pine woods.
