A Riad of great charm and character
Simon and the staff at Riad Laksiba were very welcoming and made our stay extra special. We would wholeheartedly recommend this Riad. It is easy to find and is located in the Kasbah area of the Medina. The Riad has been recently renovated in a vary stylish way and have loads of character and charm. We are going back in January!

Everything we hoped for ...and more
We had high expectations having seen the website and Riad Laksiba more than lived up to everything we had hoped it would be. We could not have found anywhere more suitable for our needs in Marrakesh. It was easy to find ( important in this maze of a city) and we were genuinely welcomed and cared for by the charming staff. Tasteful, clean, comfortable and totally unpretentious, Riad Laksiba is a haven of peace and tranquillity to return to after the hectic pace of that city. The location, near the Royal palace is a safe and clean area and proximity to one of the main city gates means entry and exit is a lot less hassle if transport such as taxi or rental car is required. Our stay at Riad laksiba really contributed so much to the enjoyment of our time in Morocco and we intend to return during 2011. Thank you Simon, Abdou and Touria for everything. Maggie

undiluted Marrakech experience
Riad Laksiba is a beautiful place to stay. A haven of peace and tranquility after the full-on experience of everyday life in the medina. Perfectly located in the Kasbah, but only five minutes walk away from the madding crowds. Cannot fault the standard of cleanliness or friendly service provided by the staff - we were made to feel very welcome. Fantastic attention to decorative detail within the rooms and architecturally. Particularly impressed with the two resident chameleons and Touria's freshly made breakfast pancakes. Honey and jam decanted into white porcelain pots added to the laid back luxe. Have no hesitation in recommending Riad Laksiba.

The perfect riad
Riad Laksiba is perfect in every way.
The perfect location just inside the Bab Ksiba in the peaceful haven of the kasba yet only five minutes walk to the Jemaa el fna, impossible to get lost.
This renovation of has been very tastefully achieved.
A very high standard of cleanliness.
Excellent beds, bedding and huge white towels for the shower with lots of hot water and a proper thermastat.
The staff are genuinely cheerful and could not do more to help.
A delicious freshly prepared breakfast.
I have been to Marrakesh many times and this is the best.

a fab riad in the kasbah
Riad Laksiba is a lovely restoration in a perfect location close to the action but tucked away and easy to find. A wonderful week end get away from the winter weather in the UK. The service was great - from the airport pick up and comfy beds to Touria's breakfast which sets you up for the souks or a morning relaxing on the roof terrace. Exclusive use of the riad as we were a group of 7 friends was really great and an ideal relaxing place for a get together with everything you need.

small stylish and different
A lot of skill and attention to detail given to the renovation to this house which is in a quiet area and quite close to a main gate so not difficultto access from a taxi. Lovely to sit overlooking the open central courtyard eating breakfast with colourful little birds landing on the balustrades. The use of the communal kitchen with an honesty list of goodies in the fridge was appreciated. Simon arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport and made a booking at a nearby restaurant. We were met from the taxi and helped with luggage : all good service.
In the heat of the summer this would all be spectacular but in winter it was a little cold. Having informed Simon of this I am confident that some solution will be found.

a lovely, warm and welcoming riad
My husband and I stayed at Riad Laksiba for 5 days with our two-year-old daughter, and we had a wonderful time. Simon, the owner, was incredibly helpful and friendly. He arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport, along with the riad's guardian Abdou to help with our bags. When we arrived he met us at one of the main gates to the Kasbah (a quieter, more relaxed part of the medina), and showed us to the riad. He even suggested a restaurant for us to try on that first night...which was great. The following day he generously took us around the souks, and gave us a crash course on the ongoings of the medina. He was such a gracious host, and paid much attention to detail, which could be seen in the architecture and design of the newly renovated riad. Very beautifully decorated and furnished, we felt right at home. From the rooftop terrace, to Toria's homemade pancakes and fresh-pressed orange juice in the morning, to the resident chameleons, everything about the riad was great, and made our stay that much more pleasant. If we ever return to Marrakech, we will not think twice about staying at Riad Laksiba. A big thank you to Simon, Abdou, and Toria!

Marrakech - friendly & comfortable Riad in Medina
Clean, good beds and nice duvets, really helpful and friendly staff always willing to help, quiet area in Kasbah area, 10 mins to Kosy Bar, 15 mins to Jemma El Fina if you find the shortcut via the Jewish Mosque. Pleasant terrace, usual breakfast fresh and served on each floor.

Friendly, helpful, good to come back to at the end of the day
A superbly and sympathetically restored riad inside the Medina walls. We were looked after by Abdelhamid so well we wanted to spend our time with him. A fifteen min walk to the main square meant it was nice and quite at night (except for the birds in the morning!). Pancakes with honey, tea, coffee and freshly squeezed OJ for brekkers on your veranda/balcony - lovely.

great accommodation, excellent location, easy to locate and safe for female travellers!
This excellent Riad is located in a beautiful part of the medina. Its an easy walk to the Saadian tombs, the Bahia Palace, the souks and djemma square. Its also located close to a well known entrance into the walled medina making it an easy place to find!
Friendly and obliging staff made our stay really special and Simon the English owner of the Riad generously gave his time to guide us through the maze that is Marrakesh.
Thanks to his advice we ate at excellent restaurants off the tourist trail.
I felt safe walking back at night and would strongly recommend Riad Laksiba to female travellers. I will be staying here again!
