Kozy Cottage is appointed like and has all the amenities of an American apartment. Air Conditioning, Hot and Cold shower, Kitchenette with stove, Fridge, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Toaster, Blender, and overhead Water Tank. The Cottage also has telephone service, Wifi Internet as well as electronic security system and security grille-work. There is also a washer and dryer available for use.
Mosquito-proof mesh is on all windows so no mosquito netting is neccessary in the bedrooms over the beds.

Avoid This Place -- The Advertisement And Description Is Not Honest
As soon as I got the confirmation email for this rental, the mistatements and lies began. Once the owner got my pre-paid rental payment, he sent me an email telling me that I had to also provide a cash security deposit or he wouldn't let me rent the place. Of course, this wasn't mentioned in the listing, and the property manager wouldn't negotiate this nor would he refund the pre-paid rent if we didn't pay the security deposit. It was extortion.
Then, we saw the apartment. The listing says that is has all of the amenities of an American apartment. I am from the United States, and I would disagree. The property manager isn't managing the property well because there are light bulbs missing, switches that don't work, and old and dirty dishes, pots, and utensils in the kitchen. For each amenity mentioned in the advertisement, there seems to be a caveat:
1. Mosquitoes -- The apartment is not sealed. There are holes in the floor where cable and other wires come into the house. The front door has a large space between the bottom of the door and the floor. The listing says that the bedroom windows all have screens, and there are no mosquitoes in the apartment. It also says that mosquito nets aren't necessary. There are MANY mosquitoes. We were chewed up by them when we were in the apartment. There are malaria outbreaks periodically in Guyana so mosquito issues are dangerous and not cool. We had to sleep under the top sheet in order to use it like a mosquito net to protect us from the mosquitoes.
2. Air Conditioning -- This apartment doesn't have sufficient air conditioning. One of the two bedrooms has a wall unit. That's it. It is only enough to cool the one bedroom. The rest of the apartment was hot the whole time. The remote control doesn't work.
3. Television -- The apartment has two televisions. None of the remote controllers for the television work. The television only receives local channels so there is one grainy channels to watch.
4. Hot and cold shower -- There is no hot water. It gets slightly warm. Most disturbingly, the water smelled strongly of rust and this smell stayed on us after the shower.
5. Kitchenette -- It is full of roaches. On the counter tops, running out of the drawers, in the cabinets.
6. Telephone service -- Calls to landlines only, not mobile phones.
7. WiFi -- On an open and unprotected connection.
8. Security System -- Not working.
9. Washer and Dryer -- Not connected for use.
