I spent one week in Oni Shobo (now I regret I did not stay for longer) and I have enjoyed every minute of it. Immediately one gets a feeling that people working there want you to enjoy your stay and they are more than happy to assist you with anything. It was actually people themselves, who made it such a great experience - everybody is so welcoming and friendly.
I believe that if one goes solo to another country and to a secluded place like this one, the first thing on his mind is safety - let me say then, that I did not feel scared or unsafe for a single moment.
Accommodation is very comfortable, private tambos with private bathroom, equipped with basic amenities (honestly I was expecting way less from a place in the jungle, but I was pleasantly surprised).
I have definitely left Oni Shobo with great memories and if I ever decide to go through ayahuasca experience again, I will come back to them.

Anyone with prior medicine experience go elsewhere, women beware of the current shaman at this center! Onishobo
I visited this center this year for a short retreat. I went down by myself and I'm female. I was drawn to this center because they are incorporating numerous medicines that I have prior experience with and
wanted to experience these in a jungle setting. I was also interested in the supposed shipibo shamans facilitating
ceremonies here. Let me first start off with giving the positives of visiting oni shobo.
The people working at this center overall are very kind, accommodating people. The food is great and they keep you well fed.
The accommodations are decent but the shower water is cold and bugs will get into your tambo. Bring extra clothing if you go
because laundry was not provided once during my stay there. This center is nice overall but certainly not as it looks on the
website. One of the people working there by the name of Vera will treat you as if you've never done any of these medicines even if
you've had ayahuasca more times than you can count. I went here having lots of experience with ayahuasca and kambo in
particular. Vera acted as if I had never done any of these things and to be honest I've tried almost everything there is plant wise
and chemical wise. I didn't go down with any reason in particular other than to heal in a more authentic setting. When I got to this
center I found out only one shaman was currently facilitating ayahuasca at this center. He goes by the name of Mariano
and is about 75 years old. Ladies, watch out with this man. He may be an elder but he's entirely predatory. He was appropriate
during ceremony but during the course of my stay he would show up to my private tambo early in the mornings. At first I
naively let him in. He would blab about various things in Spanish like me needing less ayahuasca and being too filled up with
ayahuasca from past journeys. Then he would try and hug me and at first I would reciprocate. During these hugs he would
press himself close to my body making sure his erection was pressed against my genital region. I was of course fully clothed as was
he but I found this quite disturbing. On one occasion he came to my tambo a second time to do an agua de Florida healing. I let
himhim in thinking "okay, I'll receive this healing then he'll leave." He gave me this healing and gestured for me to pull my
shorts lower. I shook my head no and he let it be. After this healing he attempted to hug me and me being a nice person yet weary
of the last hug gave him a half hug. He then pressed himself against me like he did the previous time with an erection. I pushed him
away slightly and he started trying to kiss me. I said no (I don't know Spanish so well). He then looked over at my bed and said
something in Spanish. I didn't understand and gestured that I had no idea what he was asking. He looked at me and said "te
gusta un hombre y un mujer?" And pressed his hands together in a way of hands joining one another. I then realized he was asking
me if I liked when a man and a woman join and he kept looking at my bed. I said no no no, tengo un novio (I have a boyfriend in
Spanish). He attempted to convince me to have sex with him and I said no and walked out of my tambo. He walked out after me
and walked away. I thought to myself "this is messed up and I don't want to be at this center." That is my warning about this
shaman. In addition the ayahuasca is not very good. It worked two nights for me only but I felt drunk and messed up from this
medicine which made me question how it's made and what sort of energy goes into it. I didn't feel any healing from any of the
ceremonies. Two of the other ceremony nights the ayahuasca had zero effect on me. It's either very weak ayahuasca or
Mariano's energy ruined my time here at onishobo and the medicine was not wanting me to feel her because I wasn't safe.
Mariano also tried to come to my tambo after the incident and showed up at 7am. I pretended to be in a deep sleep and
thought I'll stay in bed till 9 because there's no way he'll still be around my tambo after two hours. Sure enough immediately when I got out of bed at 9am Mariano was at my door. I refused to let him in. I became very angry on this trip. I met great friends also
attending this retreat and the couple who administer the kambo medicine are absolutely amazing people and kambo
practitioners. My best advice is to go elsewhere especially if you have prior medicine experience and certainly beware
of the "shaman" Mariano. I didn't receive healing from the ayahuasca at this center and I despise the shaman as he practically
Assaulted me. That's my honest review and I put this out there to prevent women from potentially being sexually assaulted.

We are currently investigating the matter you have described with the shaman. This type of behavior and people who carry such intentions are ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE AT OUR HEALING CENTER.
The safety of our guests is one of our top priorities and we encourage immediate feedback onsite if they have any questions or concerns; in the case of something like your experience we would have taken immediate action and prevented any further issues.

One of the best experiences possible!
I have been traveling the world for the last couple of years and have done and seen many wonderful things. My experience in the Amazon jungle, at Oni Shobo, is one of the most special. It is something that I will not only remember but that is now a part of me. The location is delightful! My tambo was perfect. I was able to disconnect from the outside world and connect with nature and a sense of community with beautiful people. If you seek enlightenment, joy, and a deep sense of personal fulfillment, this is a place of attainment. This is a place of spiritual intellectualism. Go with an open heart and an open mind and ENJOY. Vera, Coco, Zahra & Zain: you were perfect!

Great place to reconnect with nature
Our group of ten was staying at the Oni-Shobo center for two weeks, we mainly came for Ayahuasca ceremonies.
The accommodation and facilities are built from local materials, yet they are very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. In addition to catering to all our practical needs, they took time to take us on walking and boat tours, canoeing. The cooks prepared very nice meals while sticking to the Ayahuasca diet.
The center provides a great possibility to experience the jungle first-hand while not sacrificing comfort. It is an ideal place for Ayahuasca ceremonies.

I was really satisfied with the location, service, food, accommodation and organization.
The owners of the center were waiting us at the airport, took all our baggage and brought us comfortable by minibus and ship into the center. Our accommodation were perfectly prepared and cleaned. Shortly after comming were prepared tasty luch. All our wishes were satisfied as soon as possible for all time our stay there. I really love the place of the center in the middle of the jungle. You can comfortable enjoy the nature, butterflies, monkeys and sound of the forest.

Authentic, Spiritual Ayahuasca Experience in a Safe, Clean and Well-Organised Setting
OniShobo is an authentic shamanic center situated in a mature forest well away from Iquitos but easily reachable by boat. The property is large and well-organized consisting of a maloca and several bungalows and is now being expanded to include a day-room with kitchen and eating area. This area will likely be open by the time this review is published.
Each bungalow has a private bath and shower. This is probably the best feature one can find in such a center.
The proprietor and the cook went to great lengths to accommodate my diet and the meals were always abundant and satisfying.
Celestina, the shaman, knows her job. She is strong and will make you work hard but also achieve your objectives or at least make the Plant do so on your behalf. The Medicine is very effective.
OniShobo is a very spiritual center situated in a very natural setting where one can be at one with the forest. Both Jose and Vera, her partner, do their utmost to ensure that the guests achieve their objectives. They also offer any additional logistical support that may be necessary.
I wholeheartedly recommend this center to anyone who is serious about taking an Ayahuasca retreat.

The best week of my life
Oni shobo is a magical place!! I have never been so happy in my life as in the beautiful jungle. The tambos are very comfortable and clean. The managing people, Coco and Vera, took of everything care in the nicest, best way! Also all the other workers were very nice and efficient. If you want to visit the jungle and also explore your deepest, inner feelings, I can only recommend you to come to Oni shobo. I looking forward to the day of my return!

Ráj na zemi
Děkuji Oni Shobo za skvělou péči a plnění každého mého přání. Na čas, který jsem zde prožila, budu dlouho vzpomínat. Prožít mesíc na tak krásném místě, kde poletují motýli nejrůznějších barev a zvědavé opice přicházejí každým dnem blíž a blíž, je nezapomenutelné. Navíc, když celé dění můžete pozorovat skrze sítě vašeho tamba a hovět si přitom v hamace, je více než příjemné. Díky výborné domácí kuchyni si ani člověk v dietě nestrádá. Ochutnala jsem různé druhy ryb, které donášeli rybáři ze San Pedra čerstvě chycené, banány připravované na nesčetně způsobů a velké množství šťavnatého ovoce. Vzpomínat budu i na výlety do okolí, kdy jsme navštívili záchrannou stanici zvířat, motýlí farmu, pluli po Amazonce pozorujíce růžové delfíny nebo se vydali k obřímu prastarému stromu. Děkuji šamance Celestině za její péči nejen při rituálech. Děkuji za to, jak skvělá a hodná byla a jak mi dokázala pomoci. Děkuji Oni Shobo za skvělou práci, kterou odvádí a věřím, že se na toto místo ještě vrátím.

Beautiful and safe Ayahuasca experience
After going again through pictures here, I actually started missing the place again.. Beautiful nature and I saw they built floral sauna in this short time we were there. Vera and Coco came to pick us up and drove us to the retreat centre, which is a baby diamond hidden in the jungle. They are very warm and friendly people, but they also understand you need time for yourself to reflect and they don’t dig in you with questions. These are people you want to be surrounded with when drinking ayahuasca. They both went a great extend over to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. We forgot to mention in a visiotrs’ book how greatful we are also to all the maintenance, cleaning staff and the cook, who was despite the strict diet making delicious and varied meals. Our tambo was clean and equipped to the perfection. And shaman Celestina- what a wonderful woman!. Her chanting was so soothing and beatiful… She was also around during the day ( unlike other shamans who come for ceremony only and disappear immeditaly when it is over) and made us energizing floral baths. She has 38 years of experiences in shamanism, shaman is also her husband and her son. We trusted her completely and she was working very kindly with our energies. Our host were as mentioned before really friendly.. Coco comes from journalistic background and Vera is a farmacist, who decided to learn from the nature.. Her knowledge of plants and herbs is absouletly amazing. The whole experience was a peak of our journey to Peru. I advise Oni shobo to people who are seeking personal approach, to people who prefer to be treated like human being rather than just tourists. We will come back..
