There are few, if any, places in Rio the beat Santa Teresa. The views of the city are stunning, the air is much fresher than in the lower parts of the city, and people are really really friendly. If your taxi or Uber driver tells you that Santa Teresa is dangerous, notice that most of the time they don't know the place. However, I felt very safe walking around in Santa Teresa even late at night. It is easy to get to know the people there. Just go to a bar, or take the bus! Marjon is a wonderful host that knows and loves the city and its history. Her big house has two fully independent apartments that are lovely furnished and extremely comfortable. Everything from the bed sheets, towels, and kitchen ware to the terrace furniture is top quality and comfortable. The flat is spacious and very well ventilated by three large fans. The large terrace is just below the Cristo Redentor and there is a fresh breeze from the nearby hills, so I never had to use the air-conditioning. There is excellent public transportation to Marjon's place from downtown and from the nearest metro station, The best grocery store supermarket in Rio are a short taxi ride away from the house, and the large kitchen with a large refrigerator has enough place to store at least one week's supply of food.

Nous avons terminé notre séjour à Rio dans ce logement atypique en pleine nature, et nous n'avons pas regretté, la maison a beaucoup de charme, la vue est magnifique. Marion nous a réservé un accueil très chaleureux et nous a fait nous sentir comme chez nous. Le quartier de Santa Teresa est a quelques minutes en bus. Cet endroit s'adresse aux artistes, aux rêveurs, aux personnes à la recherche de nature et de calme. We enjoyed our stay very much. Not also the location in the middle of the jungle but also the very nice and informative host, Marjon, did make our stay outstanding. She provided lots of helpful information and tips about Rio and was very friendly and welcoming. Anytime again!

I had the most amazing few days in the hills of Santa Teresa. I love this part of Rio but Marjon’s property gave me a new perspective. Every morning I woke up and sat on the terrace - the sprawling metropolis in the distance below with Christ the Redeemer looking down from above. As the other reviewers state this place is a jungle clad spot of tranquillity in one of the worlds maddest cities. I loved it. Also a huge thank you to Marjon who was the most amazing host. We went for a few scoops of cold beer up the hill and she told me of her fascinating experiences around the world and of her love for Brazil - something we both share. An unforgettable Airbnb experience. Book it!!!!

This house is fabulous! Lovely, stylish, beautiful, comfortable. Great view. Lot's of privacy. Amazing: sometimes monkeys come by the balcony to say hi! Great bathroom, everything clean and tidy. Downstairs is a living-room/kitchen, basically half open, great for in the summer. Kitchen has everything you need to cook whatever you want. Nearby the Centre of Rio, Lappa only 15 minutes away with the bus. The owner Marjon was an excellent guide. Learned a lot from her about Rio, Brazil. I think she speaks like..8 languages? Very kind, makes you feel at home.

Beautiful place with stunning views, a great host and a wonderful place to stay in the heart of Rio and at the same time, have forest views, quiet and seclusion.

The place of Marjon is located on the most beautiful location in Santa Theresa. The apartment is fully equipped and very nice decorated and has a spectacular view. Marion is a wonderful host and made me feel at home. I would definitely recommend this place!

I stayed in this paradise house for 10 days in April 2016! Romantic, poetic it's simply the best way to understand Rio de Janeiro in all her beauties and complexities! The owner will help you with the best tips! She speaks a perfect English and lives in Rio for more than 15 years. The house is very comfortable and well decorated with one of the best view of your life : cristo redentor! The bus is 1 min walk from home and will bring you to the center of Rio in 20 minutes.
