Villa Patricia is situated in a village named Sošići, a quiet and calm place away from today's hectic life, There are lots of nearby attractions that you can discover while you're staying here. The nearest beach is the Lim Bay (Limski kanal, 2 kilometres away) that's considered as one of the nicest natural phenomena in Istria with sea water mixed with underwater springs and surrounded by green hills. Above Lim Bay there are the biggest ruins of an urban settlement in Istria, Dvigrad, abandoned in the beginning of 17th century during the fights between Austria and Venice, the owners of Istrian land at that time. The largest towns that have most to offer and a history streching all the way to the Roman era are the nearest Rovinj (10 kilometres away), Poreč (25 km) and the biggest Istrian city Pula (35 kilometres) with its world famous amphitheatre. All of them, among other things, have beautiful beaches. You shouldn't miss a nearby medieval little town of Bale, with very charming old city core, or the recently opened for public Park Histria Aromatica, a unique educational and ecological project. Last but not least, be sure to visit the national park Brijuni, islands with heaven- like nature that was an elite resort even before tourism became a widespread activity. In the end, Istria is a magical place with so many details that cannot be fully explored within a couple of weeks. So we know when a person comes here once, he or she is going to fall in love with this (biggest) Croatian peninsula and surely will return.
