Spent a day here with the family as part of a visit to the Dalada Maligawa. Located in the small town of Lewella, within 5-6 kms from the Kandy city, the house is situated in a calm and quiet surrounding. The apartment is pretty clean and cozy. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. Not to forget the welcoming and hospitable owner and the tasty breakfast! All in all, pretty good place which can be highly recommended!

We stayed with Hiran and his wonderful family at Riverside Homestay Apartments for almost a week during our 1 month visit to Sri Lanka. The apartment is extremely comfortable, homey and spacious. Beds are comfy and the view of the river and was amazing! Our children felt at home from the first moment. But the best part was the host, his family and the staff. There are no words that can describe how well they take care of their guests. From arranging dinners to generous breakfasts and birthday cakes. Thank you so much!! So, if you stay for 3 months, as we did, you have to be sure to have a homestay you are happy to return to every day. There was nothing to complain about, on the contrary, it was extraordinary great. Very friendly and helpful family! We are grateful for all the little helps, driving us to hospital, being patient when we slept long in the morning, calling three-wheelers, visiting temples, providing help and so much more. Besides that the apartment is more than you need. Always warm water, well running internet, well furnished, clean and comfy... And such a great place, its in the nature, green and calm. Don´t hesitate to stay there for you stay in Kandy, good connection to town! By bus or three-wheeler no problem. Hirans Brother runs a driving/travelguide business, also highly recommended! We had a real great time!

Famille de 5 personnes, séjour de 2 nuits et un très bon moment passé ! Si vous recherchez le calme et la sérénité loin de la bruyante et grouillante Kandy, je vous recommande cette adresse !! Difficile à trouver, route très étroite d'accès mais les chauffeurs Srilankais n'ont peur de rien... 2 chambres, 1 grande à trois lits et 1 normale lit double, 2 salles de bains, 1 grande pièce de vie, & 1 terrasse avec vue sur la rivière ! Accueil adorable, service au top, petit déjeuners et un dîner pris sur place car trop fatigués pour ressortir, un excellent choix!!

Cet appartement est très grand et nous avons pu profiter de son ensemble car l'autre chambre était vide. L'accueil des propriétaires était excellent, le petit-déjeuner copieux et varié ainsi que les dîners. Le cadre est très beau et calme, avec vue sur la rivière. Nous avons fait une très jolie promenade le long de cette rivière où nous avons rencontré de nombreux sri lankais toujours très souriants (femmes qui lavaient leur linge, des enfants qui se baignaient, un monsieur qui lavait sa vache, un pêcheur, ....). Nous recommandons cet homestay.

Great spacious, comfortable apartment, with plenty of space for family to stay. TV with satellite channels and fast wifi. Lovely peaceful location overlooking the river. We enjoyed walking along the river and shopping in local stalls. People very friendly and hosts very welcoming. Nice breakfast, dinner not to our taste but understand not always easy as we have gluten allergy. Still, was great to have a kitchenette to use - microwave, sink & fridge - no cooking gas connected when we were there, but we managed to rustle up dinner in the microwave (one of our kids was ill so not able to go out). Easy access into town and owners helpful in arranging tuc tuc for pick up. Added bonus too of a washing machine which owner very kindly let us use. Very friendly man helping out re breakfasts etc, but lock front door if you want some notice of him coming in. Lovely place to stay and nice to be based in a non touristy area.

Tranquilidad, sosiego y vistas preciosas sobre el rio. Habitaciones grandes y muy limpias, buen desayuno y personal muy amable.Reconmendable 100%. Lejos del bullicio de la ciudad de Kandy pero solamente a 10 minutos del templo del diente de buda.Buena comida y excelente wifi.

We went for the Randoli Perahera, a major festival ending with the full moon in August. The town is cheek-to-jowl with visitors at this time. At the River Side Homestay Apartment, Hiran and his wife made us welcome and comfortable with a lovely two bedroom, two bath upper level apartment, spacious living room,small kitchen and lovely deck overlooking the river. Instead of crowds and noise, we awoke to bird song and cow herds moving their animals beside the river. Even though we were a mere ten minutes from Kandy by tuk-tuk, the site was a world apart. Hiran provided a wonderful Sri Lankan breakfast daily (string hoppers, curry, coconut roti- delicious!) and when we didn't want to brave the crowds in the evening, a fine homemade meal served at our dining table on the upper deck. You couldn't do better than staying with Hiran and his lovely family. Highly recommended.

L accueil a été formidable et attentif. L appartement est grand et très propre. Une terrasse très agréable pour prendre le petit déjeuner ou les repas confectionnés par les propriétaires. Très bon petit déjeuner. Attention il s'y indispensable de s y rendre véhiculé car légèrement à l écart de Kandy et donc au calme.
