What a beautiful setting combined with a wonderful host!
A truly wonderful experience from the accommodations in a truly unique structure located in a beautiful setting on a hilltop at the edge of the jungle! The property is beautifully landscaped and has several white and pink grapefruit trees as well as star fruit.
Our host, Ype, was there to great our arrival in Montezuma by boat taxi and was so helpful with excellent advice on nearby attractions that factored in both our abilities and our pocket book. All his suggestions were perfect.
While the property was not in immediate proximity to the town of Montezuma, Ype would transport us to town and we would taxi back using a local taxi driver that was very responsive and new just where to return us Or transport us to other destinations without any lengthy explanation.
Our first morning while preparing our breakfast in the fully equipped chefs kitchen using fresh ingredients provided by the host, we were visited by several white-face monkeys that came down from the trees to take a piece of fruit from our hand. It was very exciting and they were so cute.
We had a room upstairs that was equipped with a private bath and two comfortable double beds, both with mosquito netting provided. The room had a ceiling fan and floor fan and good air flow. Surrounding all the rooms were various sitting areas, each with a different view of the property.
Our host truly made us feel welcome and wanted nothing more than to assure we had an enjoyable time. He did everything he could to see to it we were happy. We are thankful for the experience, as it truly is an experience.

Super séjour au Jokodus inn
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au jokodus inn.
L'hôte est attentionné et donne des explications précises pour les activités à faire à Montezuma.
L'emplacement est paradisiaque et calme: un peu à l'écart du village, à la lisière de la jungle. Nous avons pu observer des singes depuis la terasse ou la fenêtre de notre chambre !
Le petit déjeuner est complet et il y a une cuisine. Nous avons eu la possibilité de laver notre linge sur place.

Great property and host
Up the hill a bit from the beaches, but nice property and big house with a kitchen and multiple rooms. Capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, and lots of dogs. Ypes was always ready to take us into town or bring us back on his quad.

Fantastische ervaring!
Wij hebben twee weken onder Ype zijn dak mogen verblijven en dat was perfect! In de buurt van Montezuma is geen beter verblijf te vinden!

Our stay at Jodokus Inn was fantastic!
This place was the most memorable thing about our trip to Costa Rica. I will never forget the howler monkeys climbing right over the courtyard with their little babies and their deep voices sounding like thunder! The room was clean, private and comfortable. We loved the refreshingly cold dipping pool in the jungle below and the open glass house with the beautiful wooden verandahs. Every morning we enjoyed the sun rising over the ocean, a cool breeze and more items than we could eat for breakfast. A wild hummingbird flew in the window, hovered around us and zipped back out! Ype became an immediate friend and was a bountiful source of useful information and entertainment. I highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone wishing to explore Montezuma. He made getting to town convenient, and yet enabled us to be up on the hill communing with nature.

Beautiful glass house with wonderful grounds and perfect views of the coastline
We were very impressed by the setting and grounds and the warm reception and hospitality throughout our stay. It was wonderful to see such an abundance of fruit trees and beautiful foliage in the grounds and it was such a delight to view the fly flies darting around the gardens at night. Our children took great pleasure in enjoying the company of the friendly dogs and cats that roamed around whilst we played pool. The view of the coastline was breathtaking and yet was only a short distance away too. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Beyond perfect
Spent 4 nights at jodokuss and it was just perfect. Location is great, about 30 min walking distance from town, really quiet with a huge garden where you can pick any fruits you want. And Ype is the best host we could ever imagine, will do anything to help you, from advices to lifts to town, he is the man ! Recommend it 100%

Außergewöhnliches Haus mit tollem Ausblick
Das Haus ist einfach toll und sehr geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Es befindet sich mitten in der Natur und man hat einen wahnsinnig schönen Ausblick bis zum Meer. Die großen Terrassen und die offene Bauweise lädt zu jeder Tageszeit zum Entspannen ein. Der dazugehörige Garten ist riesig und man kann sogar eine kleine Wanderung auf dem Gelände unternehmen. Der Besitzer und die Angestellten sind sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Man kann die voll ausgestattete Küche mitbenutzen und das Obst aus dem Garten essen. Die 7 Hunde, welche der Besitzer von der Straße gerettet hat, sind tolle und wunderschöne Tiere. Wer allerdings Hunde nicht mag ist hier vielleicht nicht so gut untergebracht. Sie dürfen zwar nicht in die Gastetage aber laufen sonst überall auf dem Gelände und im Haus rum. Wir fanden es toll und hatten einen super Aufenthalt in dieser besonderen Unterkunft. Würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Danke!

The Best of Montezuma
The Best of Montezuma! I typically don't do reviews but I had to take the time to give Ype at Jodokus Inn in Montezuma, Costa Rica. Ype was very considerate to set up a taxi to meet me and my girlfriends at the Tambor airport. It is not part of his service but was very delighted to do so. We booked a room with two queen size bed. The room was very spacious with a big bathroom. Over looking a lush of garden and ocean view. The property is hugh and if you venture towards the ocean, you'll see white face monkeys. Ype has a fully equipped kitchen. He doesn't cook but will have prepared food in your personal fridge to cook every morning. He has a washer and dryer as a plus to use. I will definitely recommend this place!
