I'm superhappy that I booked this house for me and my family. When we first saw it we were all amazed.
Our expectations were high, but they were definitely exceeded. The house is very beautiful, extremely spacious, very well designed, clean and well located. We spent five nights there and had a perfect place for visiting Moholoholo, Blyde Canyon dam, Blyde Canyon views and making a day trip to Kruger. We also had an great place for just resting and enjoying life here. I only wish we had a few more days for that! The swimming pool is large enough for everyone and very well placed at the veranda with spectacular views. It was perfectly clean, like everything else. A care taker takes care of general maintenance and can also do your laundry. She’s very nice. The couple that rents the house lives at another house at the estate, and they’re really nice and helpful too.
There are other houses at the estate, all with a similar style to blend into nature. You don't really notice them as they are placed smartly behind vegetation. I didn't check the other houses closely, but it felt like this one, the #12, was one of the best, with the high verandas and the views towards the mountains, so I'd recommend you try this particular one.
The house is placed in the beautiful and well managed Blyde wildlife estate. Safety is excellent here. No worries!
Wildebeest, Zebra, Impala, Nyala, Warthogs and lots of birds roam around and can often be seen. Sitting at one of the verandas and seeing the nature and the animals passing by is very beautiful and gives you the perfect start of the day. The views are stunning, as you look out at forests and the towering mountains of the Blyde canyon. There are no roads, houses or cars to be seen or heard.
You can also take a pleasant walk at the estate. It takes an hour to walk around the loop. Finally, there is a great restaurant at the estate, beautifully placed in the nature, serving good food to very affordable prices. For breakfast I’d suggest you bring your own stuff and sit on the veranda of the house though. We loved sitting at the huge teak wood table.
So, in summery: this place is superb!
