Stayed at Villa Alfonso with the family in June 22. Perfectly situated, very close to a really nice beach (Cabanas Valhas) the beach bar looked really nice, but it was closed when we went so can’t comment on food/drink, (out of season perhaps?) I could’ve looked at opening hours before we flew so not a negative at all. The villa is a very, very short drive to Bergau and still close to Lagos and Luz, both very nice to visit. The villa had absolutely everything we needed. The private pool was such a treat for the boys who were in it every day (even when we went to Slide and Slash water park, (a must visit!) Great facilities, nice and clean, nice beds, showers, toilets etc. Loads of space (we’re a family of 5; boys aged 7-11). The electric shutters on all doors/windows helped with light/heat and made the villa feel very secure. Could’ve brought less clothes as the washing machine and drying rack (along with Portuguese weather) made washing very quick. Can park on the street as it’s a quiet dead end road but we opted for the drive to be out of the way. Warning; the drive is snug so park carefully, but I did fit the hired estate car on though. WiFi worked perfectly for googling things to do/places to visit. BBQ looked well maintained, although we ate out every night so never used it, plenty of paces to eat in Lagos! I booked this villa as it looked just “out of the way” on Google maps, by that I mean not stuck in the middle of a horrible busy tourist destination, and we got exactly that, beautifully quiet and private but so close to some really nice places to visit, we try not to go the same place twice to keep exploring new places but there’s a very good chance we’ll be back to Villa Alfonso! Owner Lloyd and his Dad were very helpful and very prompt with communications via Booking.com app. Will try to add photos to this review but all the photos I saw when I booked were accurate. Would highly recommend, I only wish we stayed longer.

We had a lovely time at Villa Afonso. Great comms with the owner to start. Very helpful. It's 1 hr from Faro so we were glad we went with the advice of hiring a car and then we explored the suggested beaches up the west coast! It's a very nice villa, clean, good size bedrooms, each with a little balcony but the big thing is the pool. We are a pool loving family and it was crystal clear, very clean and the pool guy came to clear the bugs the next day when left the pool lights on overnight. Well priced too compared to other villas in area, although it doesn't have a family bathroom, just two ensuites so anyone staying has to use one of these, hence the very good rates. Fully recommend.

I could not fault our stay at the villa. Everything was ideal, from the spacious rooms, beautiful views and how helpful the owner and housekeeper were. Each room in the villa has plenty of storage space, where one room even has a separate wardrobe area. Two of the rooms had En Suite's and Balcony's which was ideal. The pool is lovely and varies in depth meaning it would be great for children and is also great for adults. There is a lovely outdoor dining space with a BBQ Grill and an outdoor sink. The outdoor table seats 6 people and was lovely for spending the warm evenings outside and also had plug sockets outside!! The sun loungers have cushions which make them nice and comfortable, and the outdoor shower is great for washing off before heading into the pool. On the ground floor, the kitchen/lounge/diner space was great with vast amounts on light coming in from the windows and patio doors. We were a short drive from the village of Burgau which has some sweet little shops and a lovely beach. We also visited the popular town of Lagos which was full of plenty of things to do and explore. Our favourite local attraction was the Cabana Velhas beach bar which had outstanding food and an amazing view. The beach there was great if you wanted some time away from the villa. However we were drawn back to the pool at the villa quite quickly because we felt very comfortable and enjoyed our time there. I cannot wait to go back to the villa and enjoy many more holidays there!

Our stay at the Burgau villa has been wonder. Pictures are accurate. Villa is spacious and clean. Plenty of small towns to visit in addition to the one in walking distances to the house. When dining out be sure to make reservations 24 hours ahead of time.

The villa was fabulous! It was very spacious, comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The pool and surrounding gardens were lovely. The pool was a good size and cleaned regularly. It was one of the most relaxing holidays I’ve ever had. The villa was situated in a peaceful location with a really nice beach just up the road. Burgau which was just a short drive away is a just a small fishing village but has numerous excellent restaurants to choose from. There are many great nearby towns to visit such as Luz, Lagos, Sagres and Saleme. The booking was very straightforward with Lloyd, the owner. He was also very prompt in getting back to me with any queries I had. We were met at the property by his dad, Kevin, who was so friendly and helpful. I simply couldn’t recommend this villa highly enough!

A lovely place..great bed very comfy! Superb pool and stunning garden. Perfect for cabanas beach. You need a car. We love this area and know it well. It’s very peaceful. Only the two of us...so plenty of room.

Just returned from a lovely holiday at Villa do Afonso. The villa is in a great position, a short drive to the village of Burgau and within walking distance of a beautiful beach and the fabulous Cabana Beach Bar. The villa suited our family of five, was very clean and had a lovely pool in a pretty well maintained garden. Any problems we had were sorted out straight away. We had a great time and would love to visit again.

Perfect setting. Beautiful and original design of the villa, like nothing else in the area. Position is unbeatable , walking distance from the best beach around in my opinion. Burgau is a lively village just a short walk away , went here with my friends (group of uni students) and it catered to us amazingly, it is also ideal for families and couples. Been coming for years now and never found anywhere near as good in the Algarve.

Excellent communication with owner prior to arrival. Met at villa by house keeper and shown around. Lovely villa well decorated throughout with pleasing views. Easy walk to beach which has an excellent beach bar. All in all a great trip. Almost reluctant to recommend as don't want it to get too booked up!

This villa is beautiful, well kept and with very high quality finish. It is very good value as is a family home with a lovely pool and garden.The facilities are excellent with fully equipt kitchen, lovely ensuite bedrooms and great bbq area around the pool etc The children couldn't believe their luck when they saw the pool! We loved the area as this villa is close ( within short walk) to several beautiful beaches and some lovely countryside. The area is quiet even in august with Burgau close by with several bars and restaurants.Lies within drive of the west coast beaches too. Overall i would definitely recommend staying here! Fabulous
