Oh my goodness .. what a lovely weekend .. lovely cottage that used to be owned by my grandparents .. I went to stay for nostalgic reasons and it was all I expected .. the cottage is cosy and still quite authentic.. I will definitely be booking again

Absolutely gorgeous
Middle Cottage is a delightful little holiday cottage, very comfortable and well equipped with some lovely thoughtful touches to make your stay that bit more pleasant. It's a challenge to find - trust the owner's directions, not your SatNav - but 100% worth the effort. Nailsworth itself is lovely as well, and it's a very easy distance to all the amenities you might need plus some really good independent shops and restaurants.
Alison is incredibly helpful and flexible, and responds to questions really quickly.

Wonderful holiday
The cottage was everything it promised. The owners were attentive. There are such a fantastic selection of walks nearby, from challenging hills and dales to canals, through pretty villages and rugged terrain. EVerything felt timeless and relaxing, despite covid. There is plenty to do safely: arboretum, nailsworth shopping, sightseeing gardens and houses, eating out at plenty of pub gardens and tea rooms. Such a special place, definitely an antidote to the world!

Sweet cottage
Lovely little cottage with everything you need. Only thing that needs sorting is the shower!Hardly able to get wet and took a while to get the temperature constant.Comfy bed. Steep walk back up from Nailsworth so we took the car down and walked from the car park. Lovely walks and pubs.

I’m so sorry you had problems with the shower, we have now resolved this - unfortunately the stopcock (which has to be turned off in certain months if Middle Cottage is unoccupied for insurance purposes) had not be turned up enough resulting in low water pressure affecting the showers performance.
If you are every in a similar position again I would definitely recommend contacting the owner at the time, mainly because it could be an issue they can sort out for you straight away. Also because we do not see your reviews until a few weeks after your stay and it’s very useful for us to know of any issues that need attention as soon as possible.

Lovely!
We took a short break at half-term. We had a lovely time at this cottage, warm and cosy - perfect for us as a family of four. Alison was nice and very approachable. The cottage is nicely modernised, with qwirky floors upstairs. The log burner is fab and warms it up nicely, even though there are heaters there too, if needed.
We had our bikes with us and found easy access to bike route 45 from town, which is a lovely ride to Stroud. Beware it is extremely hilly down to town.
We did encounter a couple of issues, which were handled nicely by Alison and hopefully now fully sorted.
Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Excellent Break
We have just has a wonderful six day break in middle cottage. Beautifully restored but all the features preserved. It was too warm to enjoy the log burner but all other amenities were used.
The view from the bed rooms was splendid across the valley. It was delightful to wake up to the sound of the animals nearby. The double glazing meant that the cockerel sounded in the distance.
One has to drive up a narrow road and it is fun at times meeting other people coming the other way, however, they are all polite and the move into passing places was done in good grace.
Well worth a visit if you want a quiet country retreat for a weekend or like us a week, very near to cities like Cheltenham or Gloucester.

Enjoyable stay overall
The cottage is nice and clean, well equipped, in a quiet, pretty location with a good size front garden. The upstairs floor is a bit wonky, slopes to one side particularly in the bathroom, but guess that’s part of its character..
The toilet cistern makes a terrible noise as it finishes filling up again after flushing the toilet. The noise seems to reverberate thru the whole building. We only stayed 4 nights so was ok to put up with for us but would have been annoying for a longer stay. Think a plumber is needed maybe..
I didn’t personally like the narrow single track roads around the cottage, quite stressful to drive around them but that’s no reflection on the cottage itself.
Overall it was an enjoyable few days and the cottage was a nice base to see the Cotswolds.

Amazing stay
Perfect peaceful weekend away. The cottage was perfect for us and our 2 dogs.
Lovely walks and village pubs near by. Will defiantly recommend and visit again.
