Peacefully and privately situated on 110 acres of croft land yet only 1.5 miles from the fishing village of Lochinver and 2 miles from the beautiful white sandy beaches at Achmelvich, Torbreck Croft is comfortable and well equipped, perfect for couples, families and small groups. The croft is situated off of the single track B869, part of the NC500 Drumbeg loop.
The house has 3 bedrooms upstairs, 1 king size, 1 large twin and 1 small twin. There is also a shower room. Downstairs there is a sitting room with open fire, a spacious dining kitchen with wood burning stove, shower room and large porch/sunroom with seating. The dining table can be extended to seat 6. 100% cotton bedding and new mattresses on all beds.

A Real Home From Home
The cottage is well-maintained and has nice touches that only come from places that real people made their homes in for many years. All the facilities you could possibly ask for, really clean. The kitchen is well equipped. The bedrooms are spacious and beds comfortable. Owners very friendly and helpful. Great sized garden - amazing to see the deer visit! My son loved walking up behind the house trying to photograph the deer. Well situated for all the walks in the area.

Amazing location, very comfortable cottage.
I stayed here with my family last Spring and it is so comfortable and cosy. The owners really have thought of everything. The decor is very tasteful and to a high standard. The beds are comfortable too. It is so great to be able to just walk straight from the front door with wonderful scenary all around, knowing your children are safely playing in the garden. Then come back to sit in the sunroom read your book and truely relax in this very special part of Scotland. It is also exceedingly good value for money for such a spacious house.

A brilliant find!
This cottage is lovely - better than the pictures suggest. It is in a superb peaceful position at the end of a short track yet is only 5 minutes drive from Lochinver and from many lovely walks. Euan and Hilary are nearby if needed and were very helpful and friendly. A generous basket of logs for each of the two fires was included and the cottage is comfortable (beds and chairs) and well equipped and decorated with some nice personal touches.
The sun room is lovely to sit in and we loved to watch the deer who came into the garden or to the hill outside each evening. We hope to return.

A welcome break in Scotland
We stayed in this delightful Croft in the midst of a three week tour of Scotland and what a find it is. We arrived to find the kitchen stove blazing away to make the whole place cozy and inviting. It is obvious that the Croft is a much loved family home and there is a wonderful collage of photos to show many happy times. We found everything we needed including many informative books of Scotland and guides to the walks and places to visit in the area, even binoculars to view the wildlife. Not that they were needed to see the Roe deer that came down to graze most evenings. We counted seven on one occasion within feet of the house. Wonderful.

A beautiful and relaxing location in the heart of Assynt.
What a wonderful find. A beautiful cottage, secluded but close to Lochinver. Welcoming and friendly hosts living next door, but not intrusive. The cottage is very well equipped, very comfortable beds, lovely porch/sun room from which to view the deer and passing weather. Beautiful original artwork and has the feel of a comfortable family home. The hill immediately behind the cottage has a view of the whole of Assynt.

Ideal holiday cottage in beautiful setting
This is a very nice cottage in a beautiful setting just outside Lochinver. The road continues on to the lovely beach at Achmelvich and beyond to the point of Stoer. The cottage is set back from the road so is very peaceful, with a lovely garden with a table for sitting in and small burn nearby. It is possible to walk from the garden up onto the surrounding hills to get a great view of Assynt. We enjoyed sitting in the sun porch in the evenings and watching the deer coming down to the bottom of the garden. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable, with all facilities you would require including WiFi. All in all I would very much recommend staying at this cottage, particularly if you get the kind of sunny weather we did.

Haven of peace and quiet
We absolutely adored our time at Torbreck. It is fantastic to see its maintained by a family from the area who have history there. The house itself is well equipped and maintained to a high standard. Local facilities are what you would expect from this a part of the country with bigger towns within easy travelling distance. The nearby beaches are simply stunning and within easy reach. We regularly had deer visit us in the actual garden and the walk over the hill to lochan beyond is uteerly stunning. We certainly will be back and have already recommended to friends and family.

total relaxation
we had a lovely week at Torbreck.The house is very clean and well equipped.Sitting outside we could watch dragonflies,take in the views and listen to the birds in total peace,. The nearby beaches were beautiful and Lochinver was a lovely village. The panini van was tasty fare and we went to the restuarant famed for its pies and had a delicious cullen skink and seafood dishes. A truly relaxing week,many thanks

Beautiful holiday, full of fun and relaxation!
We went on a couples holiday, three couples, for a week here, and it was wonderful! Lovely cottage, with excellent scenery. The directions we were given by the owner were very helpful, so the cottage itself was very easy to find. There was lots to do - from a trip into Lochinver for dinner, to going to the Lighthouse and beaches nearby. We were all a bit upset when we had to leave! Would seriously recommend this to anyone looking for a little get away. Thanks!

Lovely, relaxing cottage.
We are just back after staying for the best part of a week in Torbreck Croft House. The cottage is lovely- warm, spacious and very well provided. The art work- paintings, embroideries and pottery are delightful and make this cottage very homely. The cottage is very peaceful; the tranquillity only disturbed by the birds calling during the day and the stags rutting and owls hooting at night! My only issue would be the lack of pressure in the shower, but at least there is a shower and plenty of hot water.
A great base to explore the area and sample the food. I would thoroughly recommend the food at the Inverlodge Hotel for a 'special' meal'. The staff are so welcoming. The Caberfeidh is well worth a visit as is Kylesku Hotel and the Summer Isles Hotel in Achiltibuie for wonderful seafood.
If we return to Lochinver, I would rebook this cottage.
