The Nook is the perfect bolt hole for exploring the delights of South Queensferry and Edinburgh; close to the station, shops/eateries/pubs, very cosy with thoughtful touches and spectacular views of the Forth Bridge. Would highly recommend the Dalmeny Estate coastal walk and Manna House bakery! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon. Thank you Alison, for being such an accommodating and kind host!

Excellent, cannot recommend it highly enough. Alison the owner has shown so much care to detail to ensure a great stay, so well thought out and extremely well equipped. Lovely shower room. Bunk room excellent children will love the climbing wall and USB ports on plugs for their devices, some in kitchen too. It makes a great dressing area. The bed so easy to drop down and comfortable. Books and games. The view so great and relaxing we did do what we planned. Recommend Orocco Pier for food, easy walk down to high street. Lovely community garden and walks out the back.

I stayed here early last year while I was through in Edinburgh for work with the ambulance service. I could not recommend it highly enough. Alison could not have been a better host! Lovely accommodation with even more beautiful views. Very comfortable and spacious for the size! Plenty of living and storage room. Beautiful and comfortable bathroom with a very large spacious shower area. Alison was kind enough to leave me an Easter egg and milk on one of the morning's I stayed. She was also very helpful with any questions which I had for her. I could not recommend highly enough! Sorry for the late review, it has been a busy year!

We stayed in The Nook with our family and loved the great view and also the good connection by train to Edinburgh City Center.

Cosy little studio flat that was big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids, such a clever use of all available space! The kids loved the bunk beds with climbing wall to get to top bunk. We were lucky to have beautiful sunny weather & enjoyed sitting out on the deck admiring the great view of all 3 bridges. Plenty to do on doorstep & would recommend walk through Dalmeny Estate via woodland & beach. Hope to visit again.

We spent 3 night in the nook at the beginning of August, we loved the fact it was a short train ride from Edinburgh and a short walk from the station (as long as you don't take the wrong path). The nook was spotlessly clean on our arrival and there were much needed welcome biscuits and tea/coffee. We sat outside in the evening with a takeaway admiring the view of the bridges and boats on the river. My hubby enjoyed asking the google device questions (I just hope nobody could see what he asked) and it was very handy for playing music in the evenings. Alison and her husband where so helpful throughout or stay but especially on our last morning taking us to our car hire pick up. Would recommend to all my friends and hope to stay again.

My partner and I traveled regularly before we had our son 2 years ago, and we always stayed in hotels purely for convenience and ease. This was our first trip as a family of three and, as our son has allergies, we thought it best to cater for ourselves, so looked into renting an apartment. We wanted to take our son to Edinburgh Zoo, but wanted somewhere peaceful and quiet to stay. My partner took to TripAdvisor to look for somewhere suitable and came across The Nook, which I then found on AirBnB. I contacted Alison asking a few questions regarding a possible reservation and she could not have been more helpful! I went on to make the reservation with Alison, and I also went on to ask a few more questions (as previously stated, this was our first time not staying in a hotel/B&B and we weren’t quite sure how things worked)! Alison was patient, polite, prompt and super helpful in each of her replies! It was our son’s birthday during the stay at the Nook and Alison kindly organised a balloon for our son and suggested age appropriate activities for us, as well as providing tips to “book ahead” or book online to obtain the best prices. The apartment itself was easy to find (with the sat nav), had ample room for the three of us and was more than spotlessly clean!! It was perfectly situated and has a stunning view of the three bridges! We had an amazing trip and a fabulous stay at The Nook, with thanks to Alison.

We stayed March 2019 for 4 nights, to go to a wedding in Edinburgh. This was the most perfect base for our family of 4. The kids had big bunk beds in a separate room. And we had a very comfortable pull down bed that neatly and easily folded away each morning with no effort. There is storage for shoes as you walk in, which since it rained was great for getting the dirty shoes away. The kitchen is neatly laid out behind a half partition wall, with everything you need to rustle up some food. There’s a table that is folded away but opens up to a good size when needed. There’s free WiFi, and a tv on the wall with Netflix (amazing for kids and adults alike!) which is very easy to use. Everything is small and compact, but very good use of space and light, that doesn’t make it feel small at all. And the view- well that is beautiful- waking up to that is so nice! The hosts couldn’t have been more helpful. We sadly didn’t meet them. But all the communications were great, with easy checking in. They arranged a taxi for us, and answered any questions we had before and during our stay promptly. We even left my daughters precious soft toy dog there, and she sent it back to us (much to our relief and my daughters delight and excitement!), with a lovely card and treat for the kids. I really felt she went the extra mile to make our stay so special. South queensferry is a lovely peaceful village, and a fab base for visiting Edinburgh- the train station is a short walk away, or you can drive and park free at the station. I think it cost £12 return in the train for all 4 of us so very cheap and easy. The train brings you right into the centre, so perfect. All in all a special family holiday, with a lovely apartment. We will be back in the future I’m sure.

We spent 3 nights at The Nook between Christmas and New Year and it was in an ideal location for our visit to Edinburgh. The accommodation is well equipped from towels and toiletries to washing up liquid and tea towels. On arrival we had been left biscuits and milk which were very welcoming and there was even coffee etc in canisters to make a brew. The view from the balcony was breathtaking overlooking the Forth of Firth and the three Forth Bridges. The town itself is a short walk away with a selection of takeaways, pubs, restaurants and shops and is on a lovely cobbled street with ample free parking. We enjoyed a stroll, stopped at a pub for a drink and had lovely fish and chips at Harry Ramsdens restaurant called The Three Bridges. I believe there is public transport available to get you around but we travelled into Edinburgh by car and found it an easy journey and maybe about 20 minutes away. Would definitely book again.
