We came looking for a place to relax and experience Maine. This place was a wonderful spot to relax and see the beauty that Maine has to offer. The screened in porch was a wonderful feature as we spend many afternoons and evenings just sitting, watching the bay and doing nothing but listening to the relaxing sounds of the ocean. The property feels remote, but no so remote that we couldn't run to the store or get a delicious seafood meal. Owners were very hospitable and accommodating. The cottage may not be as luxurious as a five star resort, but if you put a premium on peace and quiet then it's a ten star place. If we return back to this area I would likely use this property as a base again.

We just returned from an amazing week at the cottage. If you are looking for a quiet, remote location to vacation, this is the cottage for you. Rustic, yet well-appointed, the cottage perfectly suited this family of four, plus our dog. We found the cottage was well-equipped with everything we needed to relax and enjoy the week away from home. The views from the living room and deck are priceless. Bar Harbor, Acadia, Lubec, and area sites are no more than a two hour drive. The owner is attentive, responsive, and hospitable, making us feel right at home. Truly a vacation to remember and cherish.

The ocean is feet from the deck at high tide. Wonderful. Comfortable living. Bathrooms and kitchen are small and by no means fancy but well-equipped. The "master" bedroom has two twin beds, and there are two small rooms each with two bunk beds, and two twin beds in the living room. If you know the coast of Maine, this is a classic "summer camp"--a house suited only for the warm seasons, but with a nice fireplace for cool evenings. If you used all the beds it would be crowded if it was raining, but a family with kids would be fine. You have to like bunk beds. There were two of us and we were very comfortable. There were no issues that marred the experience. No WIFi but could get a slow data connection from Verizon cellular. Milbridge has a grocery store, restaurant, ice cream stand, library (with Wifi). Obviously, you don't go to this part of Maine for the night life. You go for the seal swimming off the dock. Expect to do a bit of driving to get anywhere, or just stay put.

We loved this small but totally fitted out cottage overlooking the Harrington River and the Ripley Neck area of Englishman's Bay. The proprietor accommodated our flexible schedule, allowing me the chance to stay on an extra day, or leave. We cooked, slept, hung out, and worked on our film shoot in the living areas. Nice deck also an place to walk a dog or take a jog. Recommend for small family or work group. No internet, but the library in town is open 2 to 6 PM for those needs.

Rented this little cabin for our " Sister"s Weekend" getaway. The cabin is nestled in the woods on a rock peninsula overlooking the bay. What a treat to wake up to the smells and sounds of the ocean and have our morning coffee experiencing a spectacular view. We tripped to Acadia one day, collected some mussels off the rocks for a dinner treat and enjoyed beautiful weather. The cabin is comfortable though rustic, has plenty of pots and pans, even some spices available. The table by the picture window is a good size and accommodated us well, though it was a bit wobbly and we had to be careful while eating our meals. For days after arriving home I missed the sunrise, and morning peace. I know I was not alone., thoroughly enjoyed our getaway!
