Apartments are very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Hosts Brigitte and James are friendly and attentive and able to offer advice to help may your stay more memorable. They can also arrange car rental and transfer to and from the airport. Would recommend and will be back.

The flats are fantastic, really stylish, the kitchen is complete with every tool you need to cook a perfect Italian dinner! We had a large flat with 3 bedrooms and such a large terrace, kitchen, living room and dining room... Brigitte and her husband are fantastic hosts, always ready to help you or to organize something for you, like trips, dinner at cosy restaurants, dinner barbecue on the terrace, golfing and a lot of more. They also rent cars with automatic gear that is perfect as the driving is like in UK. Two things must remember: 1. the house is not on the beach, but the beautiful beach of Trou can be reached by a 10 minutes walk or other beaches at 10 minutes drive 2. you must like dogs. There are 5 funny and friendly dogs that make for you a party whenever you arrive or leave! Super staying!!

The location is fantastic which is 5 minutes ' work to the beach. The hosts are friendly and go all the way out to take care of the guest. Love the bath amenities, fresh towels are supplied daily, safe environment. Brigitte and James are the best hosts in Mauritius!

What a wonderful stay with the best hosts, Bridgette & James. Nothing is too much trouble for this fun couple. We were a group of 5 friends sharing the family apartment. Spacious and well equipped as well as serviced every day which was a joy. Large braai area for get togethers. Villa Ayr is situated close to the beach and on the bus route. Any advise needed on anything and Bridgette and James are there to help....even join you on the odd outings if you lucky! Thanks so much for making our stay so special.

All I can say is WOW!! From beginning to end our experience with Villa Ayr was nothing but INCREDIBLE. We stayed with 5, Heidi, my wife, Laura and Lara my daughters and David my son. This was our third visit to Mauritius and our second visit at the Villa Ayr and we will come back again. From the moment we made contact with Brigitte everything ran smoothly - she arranged a transfer from the airport, car rental and ensured there was some food and drink in our fridge on our arrival. The accommodation was just perfect like always with spacious bedrooms and plenty of relaxation room including an amazing patio. Brigitte and James hospitality was nothing but PHENOMENAL - the place to feel home and to meet so many interesting people from around the globe. All I can finish off by saying is that I would recommend Villa Ayr to anyone looking at going to Mauritius and wanting to experience the island, we loved it so much we actually going back again for sure. Where one decides to stay on a holiday is a matter of personal preference and my wife and I prefer not to stay in hotels. We specifically look for an apartment or a house because that has a personal touch to it and allows us to get a flavour of the local life. By staying at Villa Ayr in Mauritius, we could do exactly that. Brigitte and James, who own Villa Ayr, are an expatriate couple. While building their house, they have paid a lot of attention to small details especially towards providing amenities and ensuring that one gets that relaxed and authentic homely feeling. The house is located in the district of Pamplemousses, next to Trou-aux-Biches, a lovely beach along the northern coast of the island. We found it to be the most relaxed and picturesque part of the island barely 5 minutes of walk away from the part of beach from where you can witness spectacular sunsets. We stayed at one of the studios in the property and the nine days that we spent there, we will cherish forever. The best part was to get to know both Brigitte and James personally. We went to stay at their house as guests and returned having made two wonderful friends who were there looking out for us all the time. We have deliberately left a few things undone because we intend to return soon asap.

If you want to experience Mauritius for what it really is this is the place to stay! We received a warm welcome and it felt like home from the first day. Brigitte and James are the best hosts that you can hope for, attending to your needs and give you good advice on everything to make your visit as good as possible. After staying with them for two months it was very hard to leave and when I go back I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

Well, if you like meeting people, having fun, eating and to get the real island feeling then this is the place for you! I stayed with a friend as a student and we could not believe how much value we got for our money! The villa is incredible, the hosts are the best you will ever meet and the place is fantastic! Firstly Mauritius is a great place to visit. By all mean make use of the hotels – they offer great hotel holidays. The best thing about Mauritius is the people; their mind-sets, their way of life. The best way to see beyond the hotel holiday is James and Brigitte. Read the other review and take time to look at the pictures - they offer quality accommodation – there is no question about the quality. My number one tip for "new family" is to ask James and Brigitte, and then FOLLOW the advice. I have stayed there several times and it always takes the new comers a few days to listen and learn – they have beyond expert knowledge of the local environment. With regards to Golf – if you are planning to visit Mauritius for Golf in addition to the sea; then your only option is James and Brigitte. To repeat.. your only option is James and Brigitte. Brigitte is very good on e-mail and she takes care of all those pre-travel question and issues you may have or need clarity on. Do I have to mention that they happen to be lovely people as well??

Do you want to discover Mauritius like it is, away from the big 5 star hotels, but of course, with maximum comfort and convenience? Then visit Villa Ayr in Trou aux Biches! You won’t find a better place! Villa Ayr is a lovely small boutique style villa with beautiful apartements of various sizes. But they are all the same in one point: they are spacious and extremely stylish! Whatever you need, you will find it – and even more! From the large patio there is a beautiful view to the palms in the garden and to the beach in the background. The owners, Brigitte and James, are the best hosts you can imagine. Starting with the organisation of a welcome barbecue on the roof terrace after a long flight, to lessons in scuba diving, excursions, golf courses - nothing is too much for them. You want to know where the best diving spots, food markets and shopping areas are? Brigitte and James always have useful tipps for you! If you like, Brigitte and James take you to restaurants and places that no tourist would find on his own. Both are supported by four true friends who take care of the house: Duvali, Bella, Ronny and Lucy – the family dogs who love to take walks on the beach. We spent 10 days at Villa Ayr which was far too short! So we will return – for sure!
