Our stay at this mountain cabin in Todd, NC was an absolutely delightful experience. The cabin was incredibly spacious, affording us plenty of room to relax and unwind. The view was, hands down, the highlight of our stay. Perched amidst the mountains, the cabin presented a breathtaking panorama that was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The amenities provided were top-notch, from a fully equipped kitchen to comfortable bedding. Moreover, the assortment of games kept us entertained during our downtime. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway with a stunning view.

We spent most of our weekend on the back porch taking in the beautiful mountain scenery. The cabin was very clean, spacious, and well-maintained. The owners were wonderful to work with. 10 out of 10 recommend!

This is our second year taking our 4 grandchildren...
This is our second year taking our 4 grandchildren here for our annual mountain trip. The youngest is almost 15 and the oldest will be 23 this month. The cabin is perfect for the six of us. It is clean, comfortable and included everything we needed. The views from the porch are amazing and the porch furniture is so comfortable you could sit there for hours. We also enjoyed the fire pit.

We took our grandchildren (now 14-22) to the mountains as we have for many summers. This was our first time staying here, and we were very pleased. The cabin was clean and provided all the basic necessities. The space was perfect for all of us: Master Suite on top floor; two bedrooms on main floor for the two girls; and the bottom floor had so much space for our three grandsons. Altho you pass many cabins on the way to Lazy Turtle, and there is actually one next door, the cabin is surprisingly secluded. We spent lots of time around the fire pit and never saw the neighbors and only a few vehicles passed by on the path. It is conveniently located to Boone and West Jefferson. We enjoyed shopping in Boone, Grandfather Mtn, Tweetsie, tubing at Todd, horseback riding at Dutch Creek Trails, and mini golf in Boone. Only one word of advice: Be sure to read the notebook when you get there as Paige suggests. It is full of valuable information including where the extra towels are and the cushions for the glider on the porch:-). It was a great place to stay and am pretty sure we'll be hoping to stay there next year if we go to the Boone area.

We had a wonderful time! Check in and out were easy. Owner was responsive and patient with my questions. This was the first time I rented something for this many people. We had a wide range of ages and there were things to do in the area that interested them all. The deck was a wonderful place to have coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon. The view is beautuful!

The Lazy Turtle was the perfect place for us to stay. With bedrooms on three floors, it was spacious enough for us to spread out but also cozy for a nice family event. We wanted a place large enough to house my family of four, my sister and her husband and my elderly parents. With only one step to navigate on the front porch, my mom hand no problems getting into the house with her walker.
The setting was amazing. Remote yet only 20 minutes from the cute mountain town of West Jefferson. We were there for a family wedding in Fleetwood so did not spend time recreating in the area, although there is plenty to do. My favorite part was sitting on the slider on the back balcony, drinking my coffee and taking in the incredible view of the fog lifting off the mountains each morning.
The owner was quick to respond to all of my messages and willing to help in any way she could. I highly recommend the Lazy Turtle for a wonderful experience.
