For two years in a row we spent a month on the Akumal Beach in this condo. We loved it, and will return! The location is right on the beautiful beach where swimming and snorkling were great. The others who came, went, and stayed in the 4-plex were always friendly and easy to share the place with. Just down the beach was the Bikini Bar and Grill, and practically right next door was a lovely roof top restaurant. We did not rent a car, but found cabs easy to get and cheap. We enjoyed the beach, restaurants, and shopping in the village of Akumal, and were able to get groceries there. For large grocery shopping we took the connectivo to Tulum and had a good time looking around there as well.
The condo itself is perfect - two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The view is obviously spectacular, and the 2nd storey got a lovely breeze. All appliances worked well, and we did not lack for anything. The TV died on us, and within a day Fernando had a new large screen set up for us. We always felt safe and secure. The hammocks in the front yard were idyllic, as was everything in this rental!

Direkt am Strand
Wir haben drei Nächte hier verbracht, die Lage am Strand ist top. Ausstattung der Zimmer und Wohnung ist okay. Im Schlafzimmer stinkt die Klimaanlage ein wenig, wir konnten mit Ventilator und offenen Fenster schlafen. Der Duschkopf in der Dusche ist so verkalkt, dass man nicht richtig duschen kann. Mit wenigen Mitteln könnte man das Condo aufwerten. Yeni und Ismael, Putzfrau und Gärtner sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit und haben auch unsere Wäsche einmal gewaschen. Da wir mit Kind gereist sind, hat Wilma die Vermieterin uns auch ein Babybett zur Verfügung gestellt. Zur Begrüßung gab es frische Früchte wie Ananas, Bananen und Äpfel. Der Strand ist sehr schön und es gibt Kayak, Schnorchelausrüstung und Schwimmwesten. Kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Location, location, location - Akumal is great!
Would like to have had a microwave to warm coffee and make popped corn. Make sure to take water shoes as the rocks and coral will cut. Sure enjoyed the kayak. Got to help release baby turtles on the last day!!! Be sure to take enough TIP $$ as everyone expects one! EVERYONE! Upper level would be hard if you have bad knees. Mostly it was AWESOME!

U-Nah-Kin and Akumal were a delight
We stayed at U-Nah-Kin for a week and loved every day more than the last. The house has a wonderful continuous ocean breeze running through it, the palm trees shade your hammock, the gulf waters are beautiful and the area is a wonder to explore. Wilma was a gracious and responsive host. Deysi and Ismael were always helpful and gracious. We enjoyed our time with them as much as we enjoyed the beautiful tropical location. We will be back. Great Location
We have been to this part of Mexico a few times but always in a big resort. This was our first time renting a condo. Location was great. The condo was very nice with very good upkeep every day. The view from the deck was great being so close to the water it was very private. The road in was very rough but the condo was great. There was only a couple of drawbacks. One was the kitchen was very small and the stove did not work very well plus the knives were very well used a dull. There was not much of any basic items like seasonings etc. Not a big deal but we shopped before we got there and we did not buy some basic items thinking they were already there. The air works only in the bedrooms not in the rest of the condo so in was very warm and humid when we cooked and sat to relax in the living room. We loved the location on the beach but when we were there the water was very rough the our whole trip and do to this the beach was a little rocky and tough to swim , kayak or snorkel. That is just the way it was. But it still was one of the best beaches around that condos were on. We had Turtles laying eggs every night we were there.
As for eating. We were used to great food at resorts so trying to shop and cook was a little more work and took up time to shop but not to bad. We did go out to eat at a few places in Akumal . One was Turtle Bay. WOW !! it was some of the best meals we have ever had. Dinners were Great lunch and breakfast were good. La Buena has great views but the food was good but not great .There is a Small resort next to us and they had a small outside bar the also had food. We ate there and it was very good but they were not open very much due to there resort did not have very many guests and they were remodeling. We went fishing and caught a Dorado. We had so much fish that we shared it with our the condo next to us and they helped cook it.
As for the Wi-Fi it was ok but very slow and on and off but it worked.
The rest of our trip was great we were located in the middle of every thing we wanted to do. Tulum, We went to some ruins and Xplor Shopping on 5th ave.Trip was Great.
As for going back to the condo. Owner was great we never met but always were able to get ahold of them, Location great, Up keep great, Very clean, beach great, But the kitchen needs a little upgrading. My wife did most of the cooking and that was our only issue. We loved our trip and when we go back we may check out other condos just to compare and we may eat out a little more. The price was very good for this place and I would stay there again. Thanks

Comfortable with a Great View
My family had a lovely experience at this beach front condo! The property was very well maintained and the hosts extraordinarily accommodating. It was our first time in the area so we learned some things:
1. We liked having our own place with a kitchen and the view was great!
2. The beach was a little too rocky for swimming on the shore, though it was good for snorkeling (the beach is sandy but there are a lot of big rocks a couple steps into the water). We found that the best beaches for swimming were on the hotel strip in Tulum.
3. There were not a ton of great restaurants in walking distance...but Tulum has ten thousand delicious places to eat.

Just what we were looking for
My wife and I stayed at the U-Nah-Kin condo in early December and found it just excellent. The condo is steps away from the sandy beach and wonderful snorkelling, kitchen is stocked very well and all was found to be clean and orderly with attention given to every detail. The condo is located in Aventuras Akumal which is slightly south of Akumal proper but easily reached by taxi or collectivo (7 minute drive). We had a rental car which is highly recommended in order to explore that area and save time waiting for transportation. Driving in Yucatan is very easy and safe. The beach is gorgeous and the area so nice and quiet.
Deysi did a fantastic job keeping the condo clean each day and Ismael kept the garden looking clean and beautiful. Wilma (owner) is a very sincere, friendly and helpful lady and she made sure all our needs were always met. We will definitely return to this condo in the future and highly recommend it to everyone looking for the real Mexico. Thanks again Wilma!
