Amazing!
We absolutely loved the villa. We were able to snorkel every day and I even saw a large turtle and a manatee! Magical! The geckos were fun and the dogs were so sweet. Waking up in the morning and listening to waves and birds, and seeing the sea view was just priceless. We’ll definitely come back as soon as we can. Thank you!

Spectacular! Luxury in Paradise.
Our family of 5 (children's ages: 6 – 19 years old) enjoyed every detail of this meticulously cared for property.
This rental seemed too good to be true! Now I can attest and add to the perfect 5-star reviews of Casona Palms...it is an incredible paradisiacal property! The home's interior and exterior architecture and design is gorgeous. The beauty of its curved lines continue into the yard which is completely white sand landscaped with palm trees, flowering plants and sculpted hedges. All of this is set on a private section of the Caribbean!
From my initial inquiry to Michael (the owner) to my family's return home, I received STELLAR professional, prompt and helpful support by email and phone to assist in building a memorable family vacation. Michael provided extensive resources and advice to plan and navigate our first visit to this area. His utmost genuine desire is for his tenants to have an enjoyable stay at his home.
Jorge and Marisela (on-site caretakers) were available at all times to answer questions and assist with the property and surrounding area. As my family does not speak Spanish we used Google Translate effectively to communicate with them. Daily, Jorge and Marisela cheerfully set up the hammocks, kayaks, raked the beach, tidied the home, connected us with locals to purchase fresh seafood, and even prepared coconuts from the property! They were a delightful addition to our Casona Palms experience!
Casona Palms added much to our first visit to the Costa Maya area. It felt like a private serene spa with ample opportunities for adventure accessible by car (which we rented in Cancun). We visited Mahahual (charming fishing village), toured beautiful Bacalar Lagoon, and explored ancient ruins. We cannot recommend this home enough to get away from it all and connect with one another.
Michael, thank you for being the best host a family could ever imagine! It truly does not get any better than this!

Great great great! Six weeks in peak season and we saw only 2 tourists passing by during this time !!
So many and only good reviews and we thought, that can’t be … Well, actually no review is good enough for Casona Palms! 😊
We rent villas around the world not only for vacation but to work online too. This was our best “office” ever … internet was top, great view, calm, surrounded by nature, the waves as background music ; we worked more than usual 😊 AND got back home totally relaxed!
We never travel to same place again, as there is so much to see around the globe, but Casona Palms could be an exception and we might break our rule for the first time;
Guest who love dogs will be happy to meet Bruno who is very well behaved and will look after you and the property, he’s very sweet; I saw in Michael’s description that he would put him away on request, but no need for this – Bruno does not come into the house and is not demanding at all;
We enjoyed the walks on the beach and Kayaking at sunrise (every morning one sunrise more beautiful than the other !)
You’re at the end of the world, away from Tourism, but still not secluded, with all the facilities for a luxury holiday and all you need at the nearby village of Mahahual; Michael is always there to answer to any mail and Jorje and Marisela on sight are very discreet and helpful;
Don’t miss this great opportunity, plan your next vacation at Casona palm without hesitation!

Excelente !!! Un paraíso !!!
La casa es imponente !! Es majestuosa !!! Con unos paisajes increíbles.
Es cierto que está en medio de la nada, pero es lo que le da la tranquilidad y ese aire a paraíso privado.
No conocimos personalmente a Michael (su dueño) pero estuvo en contacto permanentemente (antes, durante y después de la estadía) y presente en cada detalle. Si bien el lugar es un tanto desolado, las indicaciones de cómo llegar y las sugerencias que nos mandó Michael antes del viaje, facilitaron enormemente todas las posibles dudas o preguntas que pudimos tener sobre el lugar.
sin dudas, lo recomiendo.

Well cared for. I highly recommend
We are travelers who enjoy being away from the crowds. This is the place to come if you enjoy the same.
Casona Palms is a very well managed and well cared for home. When you walk in you are immediately blown away by the beauty both indoors and out. The home is well crafted with thoughtful details and beautiful landscaping. We enjoyed the patio area which allowed for enjoyment of the outdoors and beauty of the ocean under shade. Hammocks were set up daily for enjoyment of the ocean breeze between the palm trees.
The kitchen is very well equipped and has a full size 6 burner stove, blender, full size fridge and great food preparation area with loads of counter space. Coffee maker with filters is provided as well as a toaster. We never felt like we were lacking anything in the kitchen.
We stayed with our son, who is 8 years old. He loved the caretakers & the dogs, despite the language barrier they were able to form a wonderful connection. Our son spent most evenings hunting around the property for hermit crabs with a bright flash light. If you have kids bring along a light for them to do the same. Jorge helped him find several hiding under the bushes. Such fun!
The beach area is wonderful for swimming or just building sand castles. There are several toy buckets and shovels for the kids to have a great time. The kayaks are great for getting out a bit father to explore and do some snorkeling. There are a few life jackets on hand for both adult and kids.
The beds were VERY comfortable. The adjustable shutters allow for ample airflow throughout the bedrooms upstairs. We all slept very well here, waking each morning to the sounds of the birds, wind in the palms and sound of the waves. There is also a great closet. The bathrooms are very spacious. Bottled water is provided for teeth brushing. Showers are very big, there is no shortage of hot water.
The caretakers were very gracious and helpful. I suggest if you cannot speak Spanish very well, to download Google translate onto your smartphone for easy communication. They were always up early raking the beach and making things tidy, hanging hammocks and setting out the kayaks for our use. If you need them they are there for whatever you need, otherwise they are quiet and keep to themselves. They are a definite asset.
Michael, the owner, has always been very prompt and friendly with communication. My booking was seamless and easy. Do not hesitate to book this vacation home with him. We recommend it 100%!

The most beautiful house we ever rented with a location out of a movie.....
Quiet,clean,stylish,relaxing,with great caretakers. An amazing spot off the beaten path,but with easy enough acces to ruins ,jungles and other outings.

Exceptional Property
My family of 4 (me, my husband and 2 college aged daughters) stayed at the villa for 9 days over the Christmas holiday. The house and rooms were far more spacious than depicted in the photos and every aspect of the house and property were beyond our expectations. By far, Casona Palms is the finest home along the El Uvero coast. The owner, Michael, is an excellent host and administers to his property like a 5 star hotel making sure that all of your wants and needs are met in a timely manor. The caretakers Jorge and Marisela were lovely and attentive but speak almost no English and our Spanish was only slightly better, but we were able to communicate via translation app on our phones. The house is very remote and the dirt access road can get a bit washed out. We were fortunate enough to have rented a Jeep Wrangler which I highly recommend as a mode of transportation. We enjoy travel off the typical tourist path - eating street food and spending time amongst the locals who were nothing short of helpful, friendly and gracious. Casona Palms is secluded beauty at it's best and Michael Owen is a top notch owner who takes great pride in his property. The only negative aspect of our stay was the ecological problems facing the Mahahual coast which is a worldwide issue and should be researched.
