The Secret Cottage is something out of a fairytale. We stayed here for five nights and hardly felt the need to step out. The cottage is beautifully designed - every single window looks out on to a gorgeous green vista with mountains in the distance. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to picking a view. The garden is perfect for sitting with a cup of chai and a book (easily procured from Mr. Deepak's cozy library), while magpies and bulbuls chirp around you. The weather was fickle during our stay - we had lovely sunshine, pleasant evenings, shivering nights and rain-soaked days, but the cottage always kept us comfortable and happy.
Mr. Deepak was super attentive both before and during the stay, he made sure we had all the information we needed and also gave us useful tips and food recommendations. The cottage staff - Sudip and Pingla - were warm and accommodating of all our requests (even the silly ones!). Sudip served us some great homey meals made with fresh ingredients, and even threw in surprise dishes once or twice!
Altogether it was a comfortable, cozy, truly restful stay. If you're looking for the best possible way to relax, let nature work its magic on your senses and just do nothing for a while, this is it!

. I apologize for the delay in expressing our appreciation, as the memories of our time at Secret Cottage have lingered with us, making it one of the most cherished stays we've ever had.
From the moment we arrived, it was evident that this was a place crafted with love and care. Every corner of the house exuded warmth and thoughtful design, creating an environment that felt both luxurious and intimate. It was a true testament to the dedication of the team behind Secret Cottage.
A special mention must be made for Deepak Ji, the owner of the homestay, whose genuine warmth and unwavering support made our stay truly remarkable. His extensive knowledge of the region and the hidden gems it holds made our explorations memorable and unique. He consistently went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and provided invaluable guidance in planning our routes, enriching our journey.
Meeting Deepak Ji's mother was another highlight of our stay. Her stories and the obvious love she holds for her garden were a joy to be a part of. The fruits she shared, freshly picked from her garden, were a delightful treat and a testament to her nurturing touch.
The view from Secret Cottage is nothing short of breathtaking. Each morning brought a new perspective of the majestic Himalayas, leaving us in awe of nature's grandeur. Despite being located on the main road, the tranquility that enveloped the house was surreal. It was a haven of peace, allowing us to truly disconnect and recharge.
The caretakers were exemplary in their service, always available and attentive to our needs. Their warm hospitality added an extra layer of comfort to our stay, making us feel truly at home.
Leaving Secret Cottage was a bittersweet moment for us. The attachment we developed to this dream-like abode was palpable, and bidding farewell was no easy feat. We departed with a trove of unforgettable memories, promising ourselves that we would return one day.
Once again, our sincere thanks to the entire team at Secret Cottage for crafting an experience that will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We eagerly anticipate the day we can once again bask in the beauty and tranquility that you so generously share with your guests.

A perfect cozy cottage!
My stay at the The Secret Cottage was an absolute treat! Having been to the valley several times before, and usually having stayed in Manali, staying here was a refreshing and welcome change! Glad I did so!
The absence of traffic jams(a usual scenario further up in Manali) which makes you mobile the minute you step out is of great value if you’re planning to travel around. Also, the location is very conducive to that , making more areas accessible due to proximity, and the river is just a 3-5 min walk down the road!
The cottage is awesome and definitely feels like home(probably better!) being equipped with every amenity one could need. The staff is very warm and welcoming, and are more than willing to help out whenever required. There is an option of having a home cooked (vegetarian) meal, made with local ingredients, provided a request is conveyed in advance.
Being in the middle of a bunch of fruit trees (apples, peaches , plums and more! ) is a treat and beautiful blooms make up for the absence of fruit in the off-season!
Mrs. Suri, is usually around and is a very warm and caring lady, and appreciates when she is informed of any later-than-usual returning hours!
Deepak is by far the most impressive host I have come across at any hotel/ AirBnB ! He knows the valley and also surrounding areas very well and was super helpful in helping me plan my day trips around, all the way from Japan!
Informative folders placed in the cottage which contained a lot of relevant and useful info. point out a lot of care and attention to detail!
The cottage is very well made with a beautiful functional layout, fully equipped and there’s even a big book and dvd collection in case bad weather locks you in!
It’s only been a little over a week since I were there, and I’m already longing to be back there!, which I shall be very soon!!!

A home away from home
We first came across the secret cottage through AirBnB after a deliberate and exhaustive research as we wanted a peaceful getaway from our bustling, polluted and noisy city lives. Amidst serenity of lush green mountains and on the banks of peacefully flowing Beas, The Secret Cottage is no less than the grandparents' home one used to love visiting during their most awaited vacations from childhood days.
Laden with the best amenities one can expect and an even larger space in the duplex cottage we've never failed to find what we always looked for. The cottage is maintained by Suman ji who is an excellent cook and can cook you the most organic and home made meals you can't get ANYWHERE except at your grandmom's. Mrs Suri is the sweetest ever grandmother with the most beautiful and loving eyes who never fails to get you youngsters some home grown oranges/apples and kiwis provided she's well. You can rest assured you'll never run out of washed dishes, toileteries, clean and fragrant sheets and towels as long as Pingla ji visits every morning to your lazy ass' rescue. You can relax outside sitting in the garden/patio sipping REJUVENATING homemade tea , courtesy our ever favourite Suman ji who we're certainly going to kidnap on our third visit.
What's unique about the cottage is the oversized property that you get for peanuts; surrounding private orchards for whenever you wish to take a stroll; most cutest, funny, clean and overfriendly dog - HAPPY- who never fails to make your day within seconds worth of circus if he lays his eyes upon you, or any other visitor for that matter. Try resisting the urge to eat him alive. And most important of all, a genuine heartfelt human touch, love, care and concern like that of a family that we millennials can't get however much money we spend or however farthest islands we hop on to.
The only sad part is the departure for we can assure you with our repeated experience that you'll most certainly end up depressed by the time you have to leave uptill next year.
Mr Deepak sitting from far across the continent will still feel closer than your fellow instagrammers. He's at your assistance even before you know that you need him. The property is at a comfortable distance from the touristy town of Kullu and Manali and is still laden with whatever groceries you might need during your stay, without the noise and bustle of a city life.
This time we enjoyed the board games and the rich DVD collection sipping wine by the fireplace as we had contracted a viral fever by getting wet in January rains but not for ONCE did we feel even in that state of vulnerability that we were away from home.
Words fall short of expressing the love we hold for the family , kids and Mr Deepak who never fail to make our stay at the cottage the most memorable one from our exhausting year.

Cottage stay for 4 days
Wonderful place to stay... spacious rooms with wonderful view of garden, mountain and landscape and river frm your windows and balconies..all amenities provided especially your own kitchen with all what you have in your home, my mom loved the kitchen especially...I went for small drive just behind the cottage..there are small shops for any necessary things... rafting and paragliding service providers are very nearby to the cottage.. even mall road is something around 15-20 min drive for quick shopping...
Big washroom with geysers for perfect shower..
Just one improvement needed is electricity load, it trips if you
you use all three geysers and tv or room heater at once which I am sure Deepak can improve in coming future..But you can still fix this yourself by using MCB..at the back of the house whenever it trips.
Pingla used to come to clean house daily added service by Deepak..so you can mess things little bit she will clean it..
No words for gardern...you can enjoy tress flowers, take pictures... beautiful scenes I have posted video and pictures you can take look
At last Deepak,, sorted person understands you and listens to you... planned my trip you don't need any guide Google and Deepak is enough..

Outstanding Experience
The cottage is very well located . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.it felt like home away from home.Well furnished and well equipped kitchen made it very comfortable.our host Deepak Suri made sure that the staff Suman and Pungla provided all support when required.We loved the self service part as we had total quiet and privacy unless we needed the help of the staff.
Home cooked food on order from the main house 🏡 is the additional benefit of staying here. We will surely revisit and stay here whenever we can go.

Best place to stay in Himachal!
I stayed over here for a month and I can tell you one thing for sure, that this should be the only place you be looking at if you are planning your stay in the area. This location can't get any better and has the best of almost everything. The Beas River is probably just a walk away and you have markets and all necessities nearby.
Talking about the place itself, it's an amazing place surrounded by greenery and is fully equipped with everything for you to just come and stay. You won't need a thing. For any small stuff and help you have amazing staff working at the property who will be nothing less than a family.
The next big thing would be the host Deepak himself. I have traveled across the entire country but I haven't seen an amazing host like him. He's going to plan every little bit and give amazing suggestions throughout. He will send you off to amazing places based on your interest and probably knows the entire place like the back of his hand. He should be able to guide you no matter where you are in that entire area.
In terms of network coverage, I had pretty decent AirTel and Jio coverage and was able to do both video and audio calls. Bandwidth ranged from somewhere around 10Mbps to 15Mbps and I was able to do all my work with very minimal hiccups. Power cuts are very rare since I stayed for a month I would be a good person to judge the same, we had power cuts very rarely and were mostly restored shortly afterward.
The last pointer for us was Happi (a six-month-old puppy), who will guarantee to keep you happy throughout your stay and never make you feel bored.
Overall, this was the best one month that we had spent on our entire 6-month long road trip. I would like to thank the host Deepak with all my heart for hosting us on his property. We couldn't have found a better place.

Perfect stay in the hills
We stayed for over 6 weeks here in Apr-May and it was one of the best trips we've had. The location is amazing but breathtaking views of the river Beas and the hills from the balcony and a lovely orchard right outside the house. The house was very well maintained with regular cleaning. The place is secluded which is a plus and gets really quite at night. Deepak (the owner) also has a fantastic collection of DVDs and musics CDs. All in all, a must-visit place.

Beautiful and Peaceful Cottage
We stayed at this wonderful cottage for 5N.
Location - Cottage is 15min from Kullu on the way to Manali. Right on Highway. Beas river flows other side of the highway (You can’t access the river just by crossing road. You need to walk for 5 min to access the river). Daily stuff is available near by. DevDham and Hotel Regenta blossom only 5 min drive if you want to enjoy multi cuisine restaurant. Just outside cottage there are many paragliding and river rafting shops.
Cottage - Its a stone duplex with its own small garden. Living, dinning, kitchen and powder room on ground…two bedrooms with attached bathroom on first. It also has all glass covered seating area on first where we enjoyed our morning and evening tea with view of Beas river.
They have a huge library of books and DVDs (Including movies for kids). The kitchen was well equipped for food preparation. Be informed that there is no power backup. There were couple of small power cuts in first 4 days and on our last evening voltage was very low.
Host - Deepak is a super host. Although he is out of India but connect with you on daily basis and provides all sort of guidance to plan your day. He also recommended a chauffer who took us around in our car and acted as a local guide.
Sumanji is a great veg cook. Although she cooked multiple meals for us but I can never forget the aloo puri packed in hot tiffin for our Beas river picnic
Pingla, the cleaning lady was also a nice person.
I would definitely recommend TSC if you are looking for quite and peaceful place to stay.

Stunning stone Cottage near Kullu
I stayed at the secret cottage for 7 days in January and it was a beautiful and relaxing experience. A home away from home!. The cottage is very asthetically done up and thoughtfull additions like a book and game collection, a really cool music n movie collection along with a fire place to keep you warm on a winter night makes it a truly amazing stay. Set amidst an apple orchard, you are on the road next to the river and yet well tucked away. A sprecial mention to the staff who are really helpful and to Deepak whose hospitslity is unmatched. Though miles and countries away he is there to solve your every querry and help with everythihing. I would love to go back when the mountains turn green and the orchards are filled with fruits :)
