Picture postcard thatched cottage
Very well presented and comfortable dog-friendly cottage in a lovely setting near Corfe. Well situated for various family activities, including Studland beach, Kimmeridge Bay for fossil hunting and the Dorset Adveture water park.

Idylic cottage, beautiful location.
Ignore the reviews that say the Music Room is rather shabby: it has obviously been renovated and refubished recently to a very nice level. It's well equpped and the kichen had everything we needed to prepare several meals for 4 people. The wi-fi worked fine and there is a tv with a big range of digital channels. It is a 20 minute, very scenic, walk across the common into Corfe where there are several food pubs offering food and shop. There are some great walks from the cottage towards the coast and it's about a 25 minute drive to Studland Middle Beach. Worth Matravers is an easy short drive and a good place to walk down from to Dancing Edge and Seacombe. The Swanage Railway service runs everday from Corfe into Swanage and back.

Quaint comfortable cottage in peaceful location
Lovely stay in the Music Room. Had everything you need and a comfortable bed. 20 minute walk over the fields into Corfe Castle where there are several pubs and a tea room with views of the castle. Castle and Kingston Lacy well worth a visit. As are Old Harry’s Rocks and the beautiful coastline and beaches. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay as did our dog!

A charming thatched cottage
The Music Room is a charming thatched cottage in a lovely location, well-placed to enjoy the beautiful coast and countryside of Dorset. We found the cottage very comfortable, well-equipped and spotlessly clean. The patio garden and cottage are completely enclosed by a picket fence, so very secure if you have a dog, and have a lovely outlook over the beautiful gardens of the main house. The location is about one and a half miles from Corfe Castle village along a single lane road, which has a couple of quite long stretches with no suitable passing place, so be prepared for a bit of lengthy reversing if you meet another vehicle n the wrong spot! The road is very quiet, however, and we rarely met more than one vehicle on it in a day. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather and loved being so close to stunning Studland beach (about 15 minutes drive), where we spent a few hours every morning. Corfe Castle is a charming village with an excellent bakery, well-stocked shop and several pubs and restaurants, and of course an amazing ruined castle towering over it. It is a pleasant 30 minute walk from the cottage, over fields and Corfe Common. We thoroughly enjoyed a lovely week's holiday in the Music Room cottage.

Very pretty and comfortable cottage, most peace location
The cottage is picture postcard pretty, as are the surrounding gardens. It is nicely decorated, very comfortable and well fitted, with the all-important appliance instruction books handy. Paul was very helpful when we needed him. If you want total peace and tranquility, plus beautiful countryside, it doesn’t get much better than this. It really is in the middle of nowhere.

Wonderful stay at the Music Room
This is a delightful place to escape to. The setting is totally beautiful - down a secluded lane with fabulous views yet easy to get out and about to Corfe Castle and beyond. Fabulous walks on the doorstep. The Music Room is comfortable and welcoming with a sunny terrace to sit out on. All mod cons and tastefully decorated. We are planning a return visit .....

The Music Room is a fantastic cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The cottage is gorgeous. It is nicely decorated with lovely facilities and appliances. We had everything we needed. The courtyard garden is a sun trap and it was nice to sit and eat outside and enjoy the rays. We would highly recommend the cottage. Thanks to Paul for all his help too. We will be back in the future.

Lovely cosy cottage in rural setting
We absolutely loved our stay in the Music Room! It is a beautiful cottage with cosy bedrooms (with brand new beds!) and a generous livingroom with a high ceiling into the roof pitch and a wood burning stove. There is also a sheltered terrace with afternoon sunshine. The Isle of Purbeck has lots to offer and several sights are close by. We enjoyed our walk to Corfe Castle and Studland Beach, breathtaking views at Old Harry's Rocks and Durdle Door are only a short drive away. Paul was a very helpful and friendly host.

Disappointing
Even though the weather was not perfect Corfe Castle was awesome. Definitely worth the long walk to the top. Spectacular views. The accommodation at the Music Room was very disappointing to say the least. For the price I paid I expected a little more ........ the couches have bad marks, the mugs have old stains in the inside, the double bed mattress needs to be replaced as you need to sleep in the middle so you don’t fall off, half a toilet roll was all that was available, the sugar pot was only half full, the inside windowsill in the bathroom is filthy. With some much needed TLC this could be an awesome holiday destination.
