Short break in June

Took my Father too this cottage in Anstruther and we’re very happy with the property ,it was very clean and well appointed for a holiday property ,the kitchen had all that was required to cook a meal should you wish ,the Louge had a comfy sofa and a arm chair Tv ,DvD player for the rainy days and small dining table and chairs . The main bedroom had a comfy small double and quality quilt and pillows . The bathroom is adequate but could do with updating the removal of the bath for a shower cubical would be agood move but it was clean in general the property was warm whilst we we there with the heating thermostat ensuring it was warm . We had a great stay and Penny was on hand if needed and told us where best to walk the dogs around the village of which there was plenty of options also the best places to eat in our case with good access because of my fathers mobility issues the village is only5 mins drive from Anstruther which is great , but well placed to go up or down the coast exploring . I would definitely return in the future

Holiday August 2022

Although said dog friendly only told day before we arrived that dogs could not wait in on their own (been holidaying in east neuk of fife for ten years and never had this)meant we could not go for a meal ourselfs .Shower was not very good .The cottage was clean and tidy and handy to go to other places .

Relaxing break

Just back from a short break with family and our cocker spaniel, The Lodge was clean and comfortable, and everything we needed, (small complaint was the garden few holes in hedge so couldn't leave dog unattended, and would have been nice to have table and chaired as weather was nice for sitting out with lunch) nice walk in to anstruther and surrounding areas....Visited Scotland's Secret Bunker worth a visit... Would defo use lodge again if every up that way

Fabulous!

My partner and I stayed in this property for one week in July 2016. Penny was very organized and friendly--she sent us detailed instructions about how to reach the cottage, and she prepared a wonderful welcome package. Penny was also extremely helpful during our stay with recommendations about places to visit in the area. The letting itself is very comfortable, with a nice kitchen and bathroom. The lounge/living room is not huge, but still perfect for a couple or couple with one or two small children. The location is great---the village of Kilrenny is very nice, and it is very easy to walk to Anstruther. There is also a bus stop nearby. We came by car, but it was nice to also be able to use other forms of transportation.

Lovely cottage

I arrived with my 2 dogs for a short break. THe Lodge is lovely, . Comfortable beds and every facility you could want. The lodge is situated on a gated driveway, so no passing traffic. My dogs could access the pretty garden at the side of the house with no dangers. Kilrenny is a lovely little hamlet, 5 mins drive from Anstruther. The common with children's play area is lovely, and there is a nice walk through the woods. This is a hidden gem, and Penny the owner is so helpful.

The Lodge Exceed Expectations

The Lodge in Anstruther is one of the few occasions where the physical experience exceeded the website promise. Extremely tidy and the proprietor was extremely helpful and friendly, Would definitely stay again.

Perfect Location

Arrived quite late to a lovely ,clean cottage with a bottle of wine in the fridge. Very welcome after a long drive with our black lab. Kilrenny is a small hamlet of a village but it is within walking distance to the harbour at Anstruther, approx. 20 mins but as we had a dog it was the perfect location as Kilrenny common is only 3 mins walk away. The cottage itself was perfect for us. The rooms were tastefully decorated with a lovely comfortable double bed in one room and a single in the other bedroom. We have a 6 foot bed at home so with quite a bad back we found the double bed to be rather small so I had to relegate hubby to single. I'm used to spreading out. But otherwise it was very comfortable. All mod cons were there including dish washer, washing machine, toaster etc and the wifi, although a little hit or miss worked perfectly sufficiently for me to keep in touch with the office. If I were to make one small criticism I would have loved a back door to lead to the garden so the dog could have just wandered in or out when he wanted as we had superb weather. But please if you have a dog then do not be put off by this. Your four legged friend will be welcomed with open arms and has even got a few dog treats in the kitchen for when he arrives. Everybody who does not have a dog, do not be put off that it is dog friendly. The cottage is pristine and you would never know dogs were allowed. It would appear that only perfect dogs seem to have visited as I have stayed in some awful pet friendly places that have brown marks all over the carpet. This is most definitely NOT one of them. In short we had a wonderful stay and will most definitely be returning. We met Penny, the owner, when we were leaving as she had been away for a few days and I have to say she was a lovely lady and so friendly.

excellent place, well equipped, nice location

stayed there for three weeks and didn't miss a thing. It's exceptionally well equipped and certainly more spacious than I would have expected from the description. It's a perfect location - close to the coast, but away from the main road. Large playground at 5 min walking distance.

Fabulous, homely holiday cottage

Stayed here for our family's summer holiday in July. Penny the owner is just lovely and so very friendly and helpful. The Lodge has everything you need and MORE for a self catering holiday from being spotlessly clean to having very comfy beds. It is situated in the lovely secluded village of Kilrenny and within easy walking distance of Anstruther. The east coast is beautiful with plenty to see and explore. The lodge is ideally situated near lots of the tourist attractions. We all came back our holiday relaxed and refreshed and can't wait to return, will most definitely be back.......soon I hope :-)

Hi I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us at The Lodge. The East Neuk provides a fabulous get away from it all holiday retreat with plenty to see and do as and when you feel like it. The local area in particular allows children ( and those of us who are still young at heart ) to experience the simple adventures such as climbing trees and exploring the many rock pools, and discovering nature that is on your doorstep at The Lodge. Lovely quiet haven

Stayed here for a long weekend on a break from Edinburgh and had a lovely time. The cottage is hidden away with it's own garden and there were lovely walks to go on along the sea and in nearby Anstruther. The cottage is well equipped with everything we needed including complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits and wine which was a great welcome. Would definitely stay here again if visiting the area, Kilrenny is a lovely quiet village with lots of character for those wanting to escape it all.
