Perfect place to relax
We stayed in the barn for 2 people with stunning sea views & a week of perfect sunsets. Everything had been thought of down to the last detail, and a bonus that we had a decent sized freezer as we visited in a heatwave. Plenty of outside space to sit & relax, & steps up to the chickens house, though unfortunately they weren't laying for us. The 2 ducks kept us entertained too, not realising ducks & chickens have their own individual personalities.
The barn was furnished to a high standard, with odd touches of luxury without going OTT, comfy KS bed too.
Thanks Jan & Mick, we'll be back!

Fantastic sea views, sunsets and chickens.
The cottage is a small converted barn, single storey, with a double bedroom, large wet room/shower room, kitchen and dining/lounge. The whole of the end of the cottage is glass, giving views over the sea and perfect place to watch the sun set. The underfloor heating makes the cottage toasty and warm, while the decking gives the perfect spot for outside dining, or sunbathing (weather permitting).
Jan and Mick are very friendly owners, but don’t bother you if you want to be left alone. There is also your very own chicken hut with chickens, for you to feed if you wish and of course fresh eggs from them. You don’t have to do anything with them if you don’t have to. The cottage is dog friendly and our dog loves watching the chickens and ducks wandering free across the farm. There are also horses and sheep to keep you entertained.
The cottage is ideally situated to access the town and the local amenities as well as the beach. This cottage is a truly a slice of peace and relaxation, set in wonderful scenery.

Idyllic
This is our 5th stay at Penty Buwch and it is just a perfect location for lovely accommodation, stunning views, tranquility and topped by lovely hosts.
We always look forward to our visits here as a perfect location to unwind and just a short stroll to lovely beaches that our dog (Belle) adores. She always goes home shattered!
Jan and Mick are perfect hosts are happy to be involved or leave you alone - whichever is your preference.
The accommodation is lovely, with everything you need, spotlessly clean and well thought out. The best views ever!
Lovely pubs, cafes and restaurants a stroll across the prom in Barmouth or take a short drive to Shell Island which was amazing.
Looking forward to next visit already!

Amazing
I booked this as a great for my husband's 60th birthday. What lovely place. The views are amazing and the property impeccable. Every little thing including dog treats for our dog. Lovely to see the live stock roaming freely and enjoyed the eggs!!!! Can't praise the owner's enough. Beautiful. Thank you for letting us stay.

A perfect & beautiful escape!
I booked this accommodation for a Birthday treat in the hope that it would be a lovely relaxed 'getaway from reality' weekend break - I couldn't have been more pleased...
The accommodation was truly lovely, lots of little added extras that you don't always get and certainly don't expect. The views are amazing along with the surroundings, the owners have achieved a perfect balance of being there and being extremely helpful yet leaving you to feel totally relaxed and private during your stay. Jan & Mick - thank you so very much, if there was any down side whatsoever it would only be that you wouldn't have appreciated me dog napping the gorgeous Snoopy! We would love to return when time permits and wouldn't hesitate to 100% recommend you to family and friends. Tina, Nick & Brax xx

Booked this through Beach Lets where it is advertised as beach front. Beach front it’s definitely not. To get to the beach we had to walk down a long steep drive to a very busy road. After daring to cross the road you then have another steep descent to negotiate, cross a working railway track and a car park!
Although the property is ok, 5 star it’s not, unless cracked floor tiles, a basic wet room with cleaning equipment ‘up the corner’, and a musty smelling bedroom are what you are looking for. But get this, Beautiful Wales who have awarded this 5 stars is actually a registered company run from the owners address in the owners name! So no surprises really. But something we didn’t realise either on booking.
And don’t get me started on dog friendly!! Dogs aren’t allowed out because of the farm animals, and there is no designated play area for dogs, which is quite frustrating, especially when the owners dogs press their noses up against the patio doors just to tease your pooches on what they are missing!
Over priced & over rated!!

We are graded by Visit Wales (The welsh Tourist Board) as 5 stars. The comment that we have graded ourselves is a incorrect. It's very normal to have our own website to advertise our holiday barns! We do currently have a cracked tile, but cannot change this as it involves possibly damaging the underfloor heating and we do not want to cancel anyones holiday - it will be fixed next time the holiday barn is empty for a few days (December/January). There is a cleaning utensil cupboard, but people seem to like having the mop readily available in the wetroom (this is a customer directed position, not my personal preference). Until this review, we had very good reviews from everyone and a 64% returning visitors rate (2017). We do clearly state that it's a 5 minute walk to the beach, it is a local train line with trains every 2 hours on average with a max speed of 30mph and only a few on Sundays. I ride my horse along the road, so can assure you that it is not that busy and has a 40mph speed limit. The elevated position gives us a view of the whole bay from the lounge and every clear night gives an amazing sunset - unfortunately it was cloudy when this customer stayed. Dogs are very welcome and are definitely allowed out, however they do need to be under control and not allowed to attack our free range animals. There is no 'dog play area' because we have the beach opposite and miles of walks on Drovers paths and All Wales Coastal path in sight! We are booked solid most of the year and bend over backwards to try and makes peoples holidays enjoyable. Unfortunately this customer arrived upset about features that had been assumed and could not be satisfied.

Perfect Getaway
'Unfortunately' we have to leave this review & let more people know just how fantastic this place is!! We lived the dream for a week (3rd time visiting). It is so relaxing, if that is what you are looking for...peace & quite, just out of town with 10 minutes walk to the beach, sitting on the decking watching the sunset with fantastic sea views, fresh eggs in the morning, comfortable bed, great kitchen facilities, great shower room & free wifi...then this is the place to visit.
The hosts, (on site), are there if you need them with advice or help, very welcoming but never intrusive.

very peaceful!!.
We had a great time with our 2 small dogs here at Penty Buwch.
The views are stunning looking out on to the sea with a 10 minute walk to the beach.
The owners who also live on the grounds made us feel very welcome.
We will definitely be going again.

If you want a relaxing break with fantastic sea views, get booking. We have two dogs, they had a great time, especially on the beach which is less than a ten minute walk away. Look out for the Indian Runner Duck (absolute star), Enjoy.

We'll be back again!
Literally just walked in the door from getting back from this beautiful cottage. Booked as our first family holiday with our dog we weren't really sure what to expect after hearing some horror stories from family and friends about places they travelled with their pets. We needn't have worried, everything was spotlessly clean and tidy, the cottage itself has stunning views over the ocean and for once the weather has been good (apart from a couple of hours yesterday afternoon but we just went and hid in a pub).
Jan and Mike get the balance of letting guests have privacy just right, we came for a bit of a break from everything but we liked having someone to say Hi to and be lose if we had any questions. Literally nearly every question you could ever ask has been answered in the brilliant guest book that has been put together as well as a great list of pubs and restaurants in the local area.
All in all a 5/5 star stay for us and we're already looking at rebooking for next year for some more R&R.
