This apartment has to be the best apartment we have stayed in and we’ve been staying in benalmadena in different apartments since 2008! The views from the balcony are AMAZING! The sunsets we saw during our 2 week stay were simply stunning. You can see down to the sea, across to the mountains and around the side of the building to the sea the other side, views don’t get much better than this. The apartment is on the 10th floor which only adds to the fab views and being a corner apartment means you don’t get the usual noise from these apartment blocks. The apartment itself is well portioned, the kitchen is open to the living room which is so much better than it being separately as it’s much roomier. The huge plus for us was having a bath! We really do miss having a soak when on holiday, especially during the cooler months and it has a shower over the bath so has the best of both! The bedroom is a great size and has two single beds which you can push together if you’re a couple but you also get to enjoy a great sleep being on separate mattresses! The area for people who don’t know it is fantastic, this apartment is in a central location but being just on the edge of bonanza square you don’t get the noise. Bars are literally a minute walk away, an amazing park is a 10 minute stroll down the road and another 5 minutes to the beach. The town is a 10-15 minute stroll and the marina about a 20-25 minute stroll. There is also a bus stop seconds from the reception! The train station is in the town and can take you along the coast to the west to fuengirola or east to Malaga. The train is the easiest and cheapest way to get from the airport, you literally walk over the road from the airport to the train station, pay a couple of euro and you arrive at Arroyo de la miel (The town) in 20 minutes, even if you got a taxi from the train station to the apartment it would still be cheaper than a taxi from the airport. We always walk down with our cases and if it’s warm there are plenty of bars to stop in to ‘cool off’! There are so many bars and restaurants I could recommend but they do change fairly frequently. Tanges is a great bar for sunning yourself, the terrace is huge and gets all day sun. The Wigan bar is on the beach front and has been around for years, it’s a great little bar and over the past few years they have been serving a real ale, (Old speckled hen) you don’t get that in Spain often! There are plenty of tapas bars in the town, many worth a try at least once, Ibensa bar in Ibensa square is also a well established bar with a great sun trap terrace and great prices for food and drink. The eagle on the corner of Bonanza square serves a great brekkie and gets the morning sun! Bar Bora Bora is another great bar up the gamonal and a great place to eat Is a few doors away at Bar Ardisson - the most friendly people you will ever meet run this place! The feathers in Bonanza square is also a favourite of ours, great drinks, great company and always something going on, the quiz is a hit and the place was packed when we were there in December. We love Benalmadena and we love this apartment, it will always be our first choice to stay, Manuel responds quickly, answers every question you have and makes the booking and check in/out process super easy. My only reservation about writing this review is more people booking the apartment and it never being free for us! But credit is due in bucket loads here, truly a great apartment and host! Thank you again for our stay in December and for helping me book again for June this year, can’t wait to come back!
