We Have Done Numerous Family Reunions - This was by far the nicest place ever!
John Dingman's website for this house is absolutely accurate in every aspect. He was also a wonderful host and went "above and beyond" to accommodate the placement of our RV (with electrical hookup) at no additional cost. He reacted immediately to our request to "fix" one of the (many) TVs in the house. He lives immediately next door, so is very reactive to provide support where needed, but totally non-intrusive to the privacy of his guests. If you are looking for a house of this size, and price range, look no further. We loved it and think you will, too. Cheers...Ed Baisden.

Unbelievable, stunning view
The view from the deck off of the kitchen was wonderful. The deck was big enough for our group to spend lots of time on. It was very peaceful. Both fire pits were set up with wood and ready to go. The ground level didn't have an open area to set up beds in, just the two bedrooms, but the owner, John, was willing to let us set up a tent outside and a rollaway bed in the gazebo to accommodate the twenty somethings. The house is very close to Freeland, which had a nice grocery store and hardware store. We're glad we chose Whidbey Island, it is very relaxed and uncrowded, yet still not far from whale watching and other activities. We cooked almost all of our meals in the big kitchen and had everything we needed. John's dog Audie was adorable and would come and visit us, which everyone loved.

A view from every direction while set in a park like setting
This property is incredible. Perched on top of a bluff on the Southeast side of Whidbey Island. As you drive in, the first thing you notice is how tucked away the house is. When you walk in, you are met with nothing but a view of Puget Sound. The main floor has the living room, dining room, kitchen, a bedroom and large deck. All but the bedroom have a view. The true gem of the property is the multi-level backyard. There are three distinct tiers ending down at the water. The stairs down to the water are an engineering marvel and demonstrates the love the owners have for the property. We were there for a corporate retreat, but would highly recommend this house during the summer and with kids.

Perfect spot for our family to gather and reconnect
A wonderful place for a family of adults. Having 4 bedrooms with 4 full baths made a huge difference for all. Felt so 'away' from the hustle of the city. So many spots to sit and watch the day go by or just catch up. Hot tub was a nice size. Fire pit with comfy benches a plus. Kitchen well stocked.
Hiking wasn't too far away.
This place worked perfect for our family to reconnect as we all live so far from each other. Plan on a bit of time in line for Ferry. Trip is very short, however. Hardly enough time to get out and eat a snack.

Perfect home for a family gathering!
Our family has stayed at Harbor Hideaway on two different occasions. We thoroughly enjoyed both of our stays. There is a great attention to detail and the home is very well appointed with everything we needed. There is even an entire set of dishware for kids! The home has a spectacular view and absolutely wonderful backyard where one can play, soak in the hot tub, enjoy a glass of wine and read under the gazebo or roast marshmallows around a beautiful fire pit. There is also access to a private beach. Two of the lower bedrooms were perfect for our family members with young children. This property is also extremely well-managed.

Superb house, immaculate landscaping, gorgeous views and tranquil surroundings
Our group chose this property for a long weekend work-retreat, and we could not have found a better one. The house is beautifully appointed, the kitchen is fully stocked and perfectly functional, and everything is comfortable and welcoming. The grounds are immaculately landscaped, and the outlook over Holmes Harbor is sweeping. It's a lot of fun taking the stairs down to the beach. Definitely a great value!

Beautiful and Interesting
The house is well stocked, a functional and interesting layout. The yard is huge, beautiful and excellently landscaped. The fire-ring is awesome. Just all around excellent.

Wonderful
We rented HH for a family gathering and birthday celebration over Thanksgiving. We were throwing my dad a 60th birthday party with over 15 people (and a dog) and we filled in the place but had room to spare. Everyone was very comfortable, there were tons of bathrooms. The view: as soon as everyone walked in they were blown away. The pictures do not do it justice. It is spectacular. The grounds: we had so much fun just taking walks and taking in the beauty, seeing deer, and looking at the sunsets and sunrises. Everything was accessible. The kitchen had everything we needed, it was so well stocked. Clean and convenient and well thought of. Our dog was so comfy too! Everything she could need was there too. We used one of the two awesome firepits and made smores and food, we used the hot tub, we hung out at the balcony. Just didn't use the grill! I am so glad John and Sheila helped us create this amazing experience for my dad and my family :)

Perfect for a large group, beautiful and peaceful setting.
All of us were stunned by the beautiful setting of this home and how accommodating it was for such a large group, three generations under one roof! It was especially nice to have such easy access to the deck from the kitchen. Thank you to Sheila for being so available to us.
The house is truly set up for privacy even with a big group. The kitchen is stocked really well and easy to cook in for a big/small group. Thank you for one of the best vacations. Theresa
