My husband and I enjoyed this Condo. Julie answered all our questions before we headed to Hawaii. We watched the sunrise every morning from the porch overlooking the ocean. Be sure to notice from the photos that you have the sea wall right there, so no beach. Since it is over 1 mile away from Downtown we found it very quiet and peaceful. There are beach towels and beach chairs for you to use. The Cannery Mall is a short walk. There is a Safeway and Starbucks and Pharmacy along with some cute shops. The Cannery is where we picked up the bus. An all day pass costs $4 per person. We found that it was very convenient to use it into Downtown Lahaina where you must pay to park. We also used it to go North to Whalers Village. We would return to Lahaina Roads Condos.

Great view.....But not very quiet.
Booking was very easy and Julie, the owner, was helpful and gave us lots of good information about things to do and places to see. The condo is dated, but has everything you need for your stay, including laundry facilities in the unit. The view from the condo was great. We saw sea turtles just a few feet off from the sea wall. There is no "sandy beach" in front of this location. There is a sea wall and the bottom is rocks. If you bring binoculars, you can probably see whales out in the ocean (mid December thru April). I had just had foot surgery a few weeks before our vacation. I had a slight problem getting up the 10" step to the toilet and shower in the bathroom. (You can almost see the step in the picture of the bathroom.) If you have weak knees or hips and have problems with stairs, this could be a problem, as this is a pretty high step up. There is an elevator from the garage to each floor for those who can't negotiate stairs. The front of the condo building is right on a well traveled street. The bedroom is on the street side of the unit. It is very noisy at night with traffic, trash trucks picking up garbage, motorcycles, and sirens from emergency vehicles. If you use the Murphy bed in the Living Room, the high tide waves crashing against the seawall sounds like a thunder storm. Since the condo does not have air conditioning, windows need to be opened for cross ventilation. The ceiling fans help with air circulation. If you close the windows to block out the noise, things can get stuffy and warm. We happened to book our stay for two weeks in January when the condo and grounds were undergoing major maintenance. The pool had been drained and new tile work and power washing was being done. They were also power washing the grill area patio, walkways, and pool deck area and putting down a sealer on the concrete in all of these areas. There was plumbing work being done under the building, in the parking garage area, that included lots of power saws and drills. There was also some masonry work being done by the pool. And tree trimmer were trimming palms and coconuts and putting them into a commercial limb mulcher. Sometimes the noise of all of this work got so loud that we couldn't hear each other talk inside our unit and had to close the doors and windows. I would caution anyone booking to check with the owner to find out about when maintenance work is being scheduled so you can avoid those times. It was very disappointing to not be able to use the pool until the last few days of our vacation. I contacted Julie when we returned home and told her about the maintenance problems and noise from all of the work being done. She said that she wasn't aware of it. But, owners should be able to check with the building manager to find out this information for you. This location is within walking distance (1/2 to 1 mile) of grocery, drug store, restaurants, and specialty shops. Old Lahaina Luau and Whale Watching boats are in that same area. You will need reservations ahead of time for those activities. We booked a larger boat for Whale Watching, but the smaller boats got closer and seemed to be more maneuverable. There are dozens of companies that have boats for whale watching or snorkeling. If you are there during Jan., Feb., March., there is no problem finding whales. They are everywhere. The parking garage, under the building, is small and parking spaces are cramped. Parking a medium or large sized vehicle can take some skill. Compact cars should not be a problem. So choose your rental car wisely. Overall, the unit is adequate and located close to everything you would need. It is on a main street with lots of noise. Views from the balcony are great.

You Should Be Here!!!
Within the pat 2 years, we have experienced an amazing time in Lahaina. Julie is an amazing person to deal with. Her hospitality has always been sincere and genuine. The condo location is ideal good people. Everything is within walk-in distance. Very clean, comfortable, relaxing with an amazing view of the sunset, sunrise, fresh crosswinds,turtles, whales, and that amazing sound of the ocean that serenade you 24/7. As I said before "You Should Be Here." I plan to every year!!!
