We have just returned from an amazing holiday family holiday at Casa Drum. Myself, my husband and our 3 children (12,7,6) stayed for 10 glorious days at this wonderful little villa. The villa is on small side but with an so much lovely outside space we didn't notice, even with the three children sharing a room! The villa is well equipped and was clean and tidy when we arrived. The bed linen was lovely and there were towels provided. The villa is very cool, we only used the ceiling fans once during our stay and never used the air-con despite the heat! The pool area is great! I was worried about the pool being unheated but I shouldn't have been. It is a little bracing when you jump in but then its lovely, and with the temp being around 36 degrees we needed it. The children were in it daily, as was we when the temp got up! The urbanisation is easy to find and is really very nice. It is peaceful and the location on site of Casa Drum is perfect as the view is divine plus the small café/clubhouse is a shot walk away. The clubhouse is run by some very friendly Spanish people, don't be put of by the look of it, the food is brilliant, the drinks are cheap and its easy to get back home from so give it a try! We visited various places during our stay, Camposol was not our cup of tea as it is basically little Britain but it came in handy for buying the kids some inflatables and also when I pulled a muscle playing volleyball in the pool I went to pharmacy there and the Spanish lady spoke perfect English so I could get some meds with ease! If you want a easy day with no language barrier do go, plus consum (the supermarket at camposol) stocks English brands so if you wanted that sort of thing you can get it, but at a higher cost than the Spanish stuff. We shopped mainly at Mercadona on the way to the Puerto. Full Spanish supermarkets with prices to match. We ate out in the Puerto a few times, park anywhere you can on the road and take a stroll down to main Puerto, we ate in Viggos twice and Gula Gula once, I would recommend Viggos very good food, lovely position next to the water and great service. We also ate in Mazaron town in a fab place called El Cetre. It is completely Spanish with no English language menus but the food is divine, cheap and the staff are very friendly, give it a go! Our favorite place to eat was Leonardo sur mere at the old side of the Puerto. The food is great, its an Italian pizzeria, but more over the location is divine, next to the Marina you literally sit above the sea, it is beautiful! We visited the beach at this end of the Puerto a few times, was quite and the sea was clear, really perfect. We also visited Bolneuvo to see the rock formations which are amazing! The views around Mazarron really are something, photos and descriptions do not do them justice, you need to see them to appreciate what a beautiful part of Spain Mazarron is. The whole experience of booking with Tracey, the info given and the holiday itself were first class. I would recommend Casa Drum to all my friends and family, and we are already looking into next years visit. This was our first holiday abroad as a family and we cannot Thank Tracey enough for helping to make a really memorable one.
