We have recently returned after 8 days in this charming house and were much-taken with the ambiance of this very special house and its interesting interior. The house was as described and illustrated on the internet site, but the overall impression is that it surpasses its online image in many, many aspects. The house is centrally located on a traffic free narrow lane, within an easy walk of the main facilities of the village with its many good bars and some excellent restaurants. We have stayed in Gaucín several times previously and were left wounding why we had not chosen to stay in this property before as it offered all we could have asked for. Communication with the owner was first class and the charming Agustina, who looks after the house, was on hand to answer any questions we had.
Gaucín, with its somewhat higgledy-piggledy system of narrow roads and the remnants of an Arab castle, is an attractive village, that still retains many echoes of an earlier time, with friendly locals and the occasional sight of pack mules carrying goods. Still a working village with locals easily outnumber visitors, Gaucín is none-the-less quiet urbane, possibly due to a number of cosmopolitan expats that live in the village and the surrounding area, supporting the local economy throughout the year. We are always stuck by the overall greenness of this area of Andalucía and although we took a couple walks in the relative coolness of the early morning, we disregarded our plans to further explore the area in favour of relaxing on the terrace of the house listening to the faint sounds of the countryside wafting up from below and looking down over miles of countryside to the Med and through the heat haze of midsummer, an occasion glimpse of mountains in distant Africa.
Just before writing the above we booked to return again next year.

A real Gem, simply stunning
Philip's casa is a real gem! It's perfectly positioned in the gorgeous village of Gaucin with lovely views from the terrace. The interior is lovely, clearly having been put together with love and taste! Philip (and Agustina, who looks after the everyday needs of guests) were both very nice and easily contactable.
It was early January when I was there and hence a little chilly but they gave me ample firewood and between that and the gas and electric heating, I was nice and warm. I would heartily recommend this house to anyone wanting to see this part of Andalusia and intend to return in the future. Thanks, Philip!

Enchanting, nicely furnished and well equipped
We were captivated by this lovely house; it had all we needed and more. The terrace with its far reaching views tempts you to linger, testing your plan to do other things. The house is exactly as shown in the photographs and its description on the site is accurate (albeit, even a little understated). Casa Muneca is in an excellent location off a pedestrianised street, but close to the village centre with its bars, restaurants and shops. Everything was perfectly taken care of by Philip, the owner, and Agustina, the local housekeeper. We have visited Gaucin previously and recommend both the house and village to people who love peace and quiet in a beautiful mountain village that has good bars and some nice upmarket restaurants.

Perfect
I stayed here for the past week with my friend. This house is just perfect! The views are amazing, the space is fab and we both loved it! We both felt extremely comfortable there and are already looking forward to booking again for next year, only for longer!

A cosy, beautiful and well equipped cottage -
The position the Casa is well placed with quick and easy access to the centre of the village. We found access to most places of interest such as ,The Castle, and Bars, Restaurants and Supermarkets and Grocers wiTh.in easy reach.
We had a Train journey to Ronda which was scenic and spectacular and the station was accessible via the local taxi.

Lovely cottage full of character, in a beautiful hill top village.
The cottage is in a beautiful situation, great for walking, and there are walking guide books of the area in the cottage. Close to Ronda which is well worth a visit. The cottage is well equipped and has everything required for a visit. The terrace is lovely and sunny, with a beautiful outlook, perfect for sunbathing, as it is sheltered. There is a small supermarket round the corner, which has everything needed.

Great character property in Gaucin
For those who want a taste of the real Spain, Casa Muneca in Gaucin is an ideal property. Good value, very well equipped, comfortable, with wonderful views from the sun terrace across to the mountains and to Gibraltar to the south west. It is very well situated in a quiet lane (traffic free) within a very short walking distance of good restaurants, taverns and a small supermarket. Free parking is within a short walk. Gaucin is a typical Spanish/Moorish whitewashed village and well placed for visiting (by car) Ronda, Seville, Jerez, Cadiz and Gibraltar as well as the coast which is about 40 minutes drive. We would recommend this property.

Great house, good location!

Beautiful Casa in a Stunning Location
The casa has everything you need for a lovely stay, there are stunning views as you walk around the village, we even saw the mule train, and beautiful eagles flying overhead.

Restful place with wonderful views
Perched near the top of a hillside overlooking a very deep valley, Casa Muneca offers super views over mountains, valleys, forest and farmland. The facilities of the house are first class, wanting for very little in a village that offers all you need for a rural holiday. If there's one piece of advice - in hiring a car, make sure its small as the streets in Gaucin are not generous
