Das Cortijo liegt in einem ruhigen Teil des Gebietes Frigiliana/Torrox, fernab von jedem Massentourismus, gut zu erreichen im Campo. Zum Dorf Frigiliana sind es etwa 6 Km. Die letzten ca 2 km bis zum Haus sind Feldweg. Jedoch mit jedem Auto erreichbar. Es ist wichtig das sie ein sicherer Autofahrer sind, die Piste ist manchmal recht holprig. Die nächsten Restaurants etwa 20 Min Fussweg vom Haus entfernt. Die Strände sindt in ca. 30 min mit dem Auto erreichbar. In einer wunderbaren Landschaft, dem Naturschutz und Wandergebiet der "Sierra Almijara y Tejada". Die einzigartige Kombination von Bergen und Meer ist typisch. Umgeben von Oliven, Advocado und Zitrusbäumen.Auch nach einem Tag an den Stränden, ein Platz um nach Hause zu kommen.

Peace and tranquility in the campo.
The cortijo is located in a stunningly beautiful location with views down the valley to the Mediterranean from the terrace, which is south facing getting the best of the day's sun. It is accessed by a typically rural Spanish mountain road (i.e. very rough track with steep drops and bumpy as hell) so a car is essential and nervous drivers may find it difficult. However the hillside location in the campo (countryside) makes for peace and tranquility and the network of tracks that can be walked from the cortijo makes access to beautiful mountainous countryside and some incredible views very easy (the house is situated on the edge of the Sierra de Tejeda natural park). It is also located within a short 15-20 minute drive of the pretty and tourist friendly village of Frigiliana with Torrox and Nerja on the coast another 10 minutes further away so shopping, bars, restaurants, markets, beaches etc. are also close by.
For those wanting to venture further afield the E15 autovia (motorway) is a couple of minutes drive from Frigiliana or Torrox and Granada can be reached in around 1 1/2-2 hours with Malaga only around 45 minutes drive away.
The cortijo itself is charmingly rural, very basic but reasonably comfortable although the lack of facilities such as a microwave, television or decent cooker (it does have a four ring gas hob and minute free standing electric oven) do mean that you have to put up with a little inconvenience. If you do need any heating there are two electric free standing radiators but it was quite cold some evenings when we stayed making the open fire essential though for my money lighting and keeping the fire stoked with wood was one of the fun aspects of our stay. A log fire also makes for a wonderfully romantic atmosphere. If you need wood you will have to buy logs though most petrol stations and some supermarkets sell these so they are easy to come by and it is also very easy to gather kindling from nearby the house. Paper/cardboard, firelighters and matches were all supplied. The adequate but basic facilities did not in any way impinge on our enjoyment of our time there and in some ways enhanced it by taking us away from our humdrum but convenient day to day lives in the UK.
We found Astrid vey helpful and quick to respond to any queries/messages but her absolute diamond of a friend Amanda who lives in the adjoining cortijo made everything so much easier. She met us at a bar in Frigiliana to guide us there on arrival (finding the track and corijo in the dark would have been almost impossible on our own even though we were already familiar with the area!), had lit the fire to warm the house for us and even prepared home made soup and bread for us! Her excellent local knowledge proved invaluable throughout our stay and she was never less than friendly and extremely helpful as well as providing cleaning services before and after our stay for a very reasonable cost. Her kindness and consideration added in no small part to the positive experience we had so our thanks and gratitude to you again Amanda.
Overall we both enjoyed our time at Ferienhaus Cortijo del Angel very much and the criticisms we had were relatively minor. I would be hesitant to recommend it to families with young children although for those who do not expect everything on a plate it would be fine. Having said that we are seriously considering returning there for a longer break at some point in the future, possibly with our daughter and 2 year old granddaughter.

Wunderbar
Es hat uns wieder einmal sehr gut gefallen.Besonderst gut war der neu gemachte Feldweg,da war ein Bagger und hat alles schön geschoben.Wir sind mit Fiat Panda prima gefahren.
