Nicht zum empfehlen wenn der Wind geht ist die komische Sonnenüberdachung reine Lärmbelästigung, in der Nacht eine Katastrophe, zudem kommt noch dazu das die Kaution einfach einbehalten wird und wenn man die Dame kontaktieren will erreicht man sie nicht. Wenn es möglich wäre würde ich keinen Stern vergeben.

Finger weg
Schreckliche Unterkunft.... sehr viel Dreck und die Wände im Schlafzimmer werden bei Regen innen feucht, sehr unangehnem. Während unseren Aufenthalt wurde der Pool nie gereinigt müssten wir selber machen ansonsten wäre kein baden mehr möglich gewesen. Also ich kann diese Unterkunft überhaupt nicht weiterempfehlen..

Achtung Betrüger
Wir können nur von diesen Ehepaar warnen....wir sind um unser Geld, Kaution beklaut worden, nach mehrmals Handykontakt würden wir immer vertrösten bis hin das sie sich einfach nicht mehr gemeldet haben....Diese Immobilie entspricht nicht der Beschreibung, es gibt ein Doppelzimmer, ein Einzimmer und ein Zimmer mit zwei getrennten Betten also nur 5 Schlafplätze in unsere Anwesenheit würde nie der Pool gereinigt, den müssten wir selber reinigen sonst wäre er komplett verdreckt, obwohl die Besitzer bei der Ankunft uns sagten sie würden 1 Mal in der Woche kommen den Pool zu reigen. Also Finger weg das sind Betrüger und dieses Haus ist es nicht wert es gibt schönere und saubere Häuser die gebucht werden können. So geht man nicht mit Gästen um..

Dejaba mucho que desear
La casa en todos sus aspectos es incómoda, cuando llegas te encuentras que no es lo que me había comentado, ejemplo, publicitan que tienen dos sofás camas, algo que es incorrecto, los sofás del salón están construidos de piedra y encima puestos un colchón similar al de una hamaca.
La casa no tiene seguridad ninguna, cualquier persona puede acceder a ella a través de la piscina, porche o zona de barbacoa.
La limpieza al llegar dejaba mucho que desear en el salón hay una alfombra que tuvimos que sacar durante toda la semana al porche de la suciedad tan increíble que tenía.
Todos los días nos quedábamos sin agua y constantemente había que salir a los depósitos.
La piscina es poco mas grande que una piscina toy.
Sinceramente no volveré, lo pasamos bien por la gente pero desde luego no por las comodidades ni la estancia en la casa.

Will be back!
Just want to say what a wonderful villa Casa Monte Clara is, so peaceful with Spanish rustic charm. Spent four days three nights there visiting our friend who is there for three weeks (so jealous!)
Everything you needed was there and nothing was too much trouble for Julián and Lisa.
Sad to not be able to spend more time there so will just have to come back!

Beautiful quiet location
We rented Monte Clara for 6 weeks and I can honestly say it was the best. Everything there for life in the quiet surroundings of Riogordo. If you want to be near the shops then this wouldn't be for you, as it's a drive down the village. But if you're like us and enjoy the quiet life with no worries then you will enjoy this property. Lisa and Julian have been brilliant throughout. They were easily contactable the whole time. While we were there the weather was a bit sketchy so we managed to lay our hands on some wood for the burner which was a godsend as it heated the the whole house. Settled down with a box set and waited for the weather to pick up. When it did it was lazy days with drinks round the pool. Lovely stay with helpful and friendly people. Couldn't fault them at all. We would highly recommend this property. Little tip when you're down the village make sure you're thinking ahead and get what you need for a stress free stay. We had a lovely time. Big thanks to Lisa and Julian for all their help.

We are pleased it suited your requirements. It does what it says on the tin . Tranquil , private , stunning views and not too far to get to Riogordo village to stock up on supplies.
We try to be there for guests yet at the same time respect their privacy .
The log burner is great for those winter evenings , and we are pleased you managed to catch up on your box sets at the same time .
Great you got to get some sun ☀️ towards the end of your winter let , spring is on its way.

The worst place I’ve ever had the misfortune to stay in.
Booked this villa for the winter from 7th January to 23rd March and left on the 26th January as soon as we were able to find somewhere else to stay. Be sure to look under the beds as soon as you arrive. The photos don’t give an accurate picture. The underneath of the beds were full of builders rubble and dirt, the mattresses and mattress covers were stained. One of the duvets was torn and another badly stained. Kitchen equipment was dirty. Photographic evidence of this review is available and the owner would not give a refund.

We have to date 20 plus 5 star reviews.
This guest booked for a three month long term Winter rental. The rate charged was based a 3 month rental only. Utility bills to be paid apart.
The guest left without settling any of the utility bills.
We do offer a weekly rate, which is utility bills included at a higher rate, but she wanted to secure a continuous 3 month rental period at a lower cost.
We have our contact numbers in our info book and a section asking guests to inform us of any issues, that they may have or any damages they find,
We had no complaint, until 36 hours prior to their departure, where we recieved an e mail informing us , they were leaving as they had found another property to rent, it was too far to walk to the village, it was cold and not winter sun as she thought, the log burner got too hot when used, we offered to go to the house and address any issues she may have had. But she refused.
We contacted the rental portal we use , who advised us, that we should be given due opportunity to discuss and if deemed necessary, address any problems the guests may have. Again she refused.
As we were satisfied we had followed the complaints procedure indicated by the host website, we offered third party adjudication to review the issues raised . The guest also refused this.
The bed bases are of brick construction, with fixed wooden boards, bed base plus a mattress on top. This was dismantled by the guests and we feel that the guest was just looking for anything she could, to complain about , having made an error in the location of her booking.
Our location is very clearly explained and our pin location is detailed on the website.

Fantastic stay at a lovely traditional spanish villa
Casa Monte Clara is a fantastic place to stay, traditional spanish villa but with a pool, the views are amazing and I loved the fact that it was on the outskirts of the village in a quiet peaceful area but you can still walk down to the village if you want to. We only had a week and wish it could have been longer but it was just brilliant to be able to relax and unwind and not have to rush around. There are plenty of trail walks, which we did a couple of, just make sure you have plenty of water with you as it was very dusty and hot. Riogordo village has a good selection of shops like supermarkets, butchers, bakers, fishmongers, we bought some gorgeous sea bream and prawns which we cooked on the bbq, Fish and meat is very cheap along with lots of fruit and vegetables. There are also plenty of places to eat and have a drink. We would definitely stay again, I love the area and the villa. Thank you to Lisa and Julian

Delightful cottage with stunning views from the windows.
The interior is attractive, comfortable and well laid out. Open plan. Unique style bathroom with a good effective shower. Comfortable beds with ceiling fans. The kitchen facilities were good with a good sized fridge, and wonderful views while washing up! There is a large table on the patio, with shade most of the day. Even using the outside washing machine was fun.
The smallish pool was enough for us, and private. Plenty of pool towels were provided.
The small town of Riorgordo had everything we needed, even if not immediately obvious.
The English owners, living in the next village, are just a phone call away and very responsive.
Driving to the house is not for the faint-hearted as the final km is a narrow dirt road with blind bends and terrifying steep drops. Once done in the light these things become familiar. It's no different from other gentle mountains in Spain.
The special thing about this place are the views from the house and the changing light on hills, valleys and mountains that surround it.
It was our first visit to Casa Monte Clara and we hope to stay there again.

Thanks for the review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Riogordo is charming, it has believe it or not. 1 hypermarket, 4 supermarkets, 8 butchers, several green grocers, 5 bakers and 15 restaurant, tapas bars. !!! They just appear round every corner.
It's best to park up and just wander.
The road was a little narrow when you were here, but has been skimmed and widened since, thanks to our lovely Mayor.
The ever changing colors thought out the day over the National Park, have to be some of the best amount. Hence the name Monte Clara. CLEAR MOUNTAIN. !!!! Looking forward to your return and thank you for the beautiful painting you left us of the mountain views.
