Beautiful
Came for a 2 night visit with my wife, son and partner. We had Bashful as our base. Everything is provided, and if you do forget food you can get sone from the office. So as you leave the last place of inhabitance go to the shops first. Other than that error the rest was sublime. The peace and quite is just lovely, as for places to visit they will amaze. We had thunder storms both nights, so what it was still great. You must visit tge Natural bridge at night, we did and it wad just amazong, we even drove throught a thunder and lightning storm to do it. Travel around or just enjoy the quiteness broken only by the possums that turn up at your cabin, wonderful.

Serene location in private lodgings
My review will be tempered negatively by the fact that it poured most of the time we were there (200mm over the weekend). I realise that's not the fault of the owners, and they can do nothing to alleviate it. Wayne greeted me with a very warm greeting, but was in no way overbearing or intrusive. He explained the system on the iPad (which is very simple), and then we were off to find the chalet and have a look around our lodgings for the weekend. There is no doubt the chalets are lovely (as they should be for the rack rate) and the English Breakfast was worth the charge. Like most of its kind, the spa bath took forever to fill (and used a lot of water, which made me feel a little guilty). The PS3 entertainment system was welcome (given we were essentially trapped in the chalet) but I think investing in a $300 soundbar and subwoofer system to take advantage of the good quality plasma TV and movies on the PS3 would be a great addition.

Absolutely sublime. Soooo relaxing
My husband and I booked the Mouses House King Louie Chalet for our 20th anniversary and stayed for three nights. It was everything we had hoped for and more. I had been quite unwell prior to this mini break so really needed so time to recouperate and get better and this was just what the doctor order. Total peace no quiet with everything thought of to make our stay memorable. They may seem like little things but having enough toilet paper on hand, soap wash by every basin, plenty of extra towels, robes and a fireplace already stoked means the world. We literally had to walk in and strike a match and there was the most romantic fire for the evening. We ordered the pure indulgence package and there was ample food for the two of us for the three days but otherwise you would need to bring everything food wise with you as it is about a 40 min drive back to Nerang for supplies. We did bring some sparkling water and few treaties. Wayne the owner was just lovely and the breakfasts supplied were excellent. The chalet itself is very comfortable without being too fussy and over the top. There are plenty of throw rugs, cushions and comfortable chair to relax in. The kitchen is well appointed and very functional. Plenty of firewood for the fire and newspaper to get it going each day. The babbling brook and sounds of nature invade the chalet in the most charming and delightful way. We spent some time driving round to the different walks and lookout which was very enjoyable. We really didn't want to leave but that's how it goes back to reality until we can excape again. I would highly recommend this accommodation for a romantic weekend getaway or even for a family who love the outdoors. Thank Mouses Houses for a wonderful break from the busy lives we lead it was indeed a true escape.

Wonderful.
Loved everything about this place. Even though it rained the whole time we were here ( as you might expect in a rainforest) we had a fabulous time. The owners have paid excellent attention to detail and the accommodation is furnished to a very high standard- all the mod cons. Loved the woodburner and plentiful supply of logs. Would definitely stay again should we return to the area.

A wonderful place where all your stresses vanish
Today my husband and I check out of Grumpy after an incredibly relaxing 3 nights. We are definitely procrastinating as we try to repack our bags and prepare ourselves to return to civilisation. We both could not be happier wit the Mouses house, from the moment we arrived I could feel the anxiety and stresses of the last year (planning our wedding, finishing uni, moving towns) melt away as we listened to the stream running past our chalet. Our room was so cosy with a fireplace (stocked with wood), a kitchen area with a large enough fridge to stock it for at least 3 or 4 days, a coffee pod machine, Webber bbq and large spa bath in addition to the shower in a separate room.We had fluffy robes, a music dock and everything we needed so that we could just enjoy each other's company in married bliss for a few days. The hospitality has been so lovely, on arrival we were given a rundown of the area and given an iPad mini with a concierge app which gave us all the information we needed to know. We enjoyed having a selection of board games to choose from and the movies on demand, but it was also nice to be given tips on where to go and what to see. We visited Twin Falls (the most amazing walk I've done in a long time!) and the Best of all Lookout (amazing views of the Gold Coast and hinterlands). I think our favourite part of the trip was seeing the abundance of wildlife right on our doorstep, take some apples if you go because our neighbourhood possums had a deep hunger for them. At one point my husband had 3 of the furry critters on his lap trying to take the apple as he was portioning it up! We also had some friendly bush turkeys knock on the door as we prepared breakfast. We're already planning our next visit to the Mouses House, we'd love to get back at least once a year now for a guaranteed relaxing break!

Family retreat in the rainforest
Mouses Houses is absolutely beautiful. We stayed at Doc and it was incredible. They have clearly gone the extra mile to create a high level of character and quality. It is set in the heart of Springbrook national park and is close by several iconic lookouts, waterfalls and walks. It is close by for short trips to explore or even an hour drive to the coast for beaches. I would recommend for families that want a break that emphasizes isolation and connection. No regrets :)

Max-Relax in Natural Perfection
Where to begin? In a lifetime of global travel, I have never stayed anywhere more beautiful. The sound of the river washes through one's soul even as the mind feeds on the tranquility and vibrant life of the rain forest. The cabins are simply superb in every detail from the log fireplace to the spa bath and (if one so desires) the entertainment system. We tried the massage package and the breakfasts which come with a bottle of champagne - also very, very good. For an Easter break (we stayed 4 nights) this is the perfect place to renew one's energies whilst sunk in perfect peace. The local walks are spectacular - really - encompassing not just the beauty of the rain forest , but also impressive views of the local caldera, cliffs and much other natural beauty. We'll be back - rather often I think.

One word " perfection "
It simply doesn't get any better than this place. It's the second time we have stayed at the mouses house and both times have been perfect. The hospitality is unbeatable and the lodge ( wicket witch both times) was perfectly persented with plenty of privacy . Great romantic getaway just what we needed. Highly recommend

Needs some attention
My husband and I recently stayed here for the weekend. We stayed in Bashful and it was alright but not quite as nice as I was hoping. On the maps the cabins look like they are well spaced and very private but once we got there they are closer together than you think. You can see some other peoples spa baths and bbq areas quite easily. Inside the kitchen and living area is really cosy, clean and new looking but the carpet in the bedroom needs either a really good clean or ripping out altogether. As soon as I walked in the room there was a strong, dank/urine like smell. Possibly because the spa is in the next room and the moisture is getting to it? Not nice...Shower in bathroom was fantastic though. We also got a breakfast basket which was great! There was quite enough food for a couple of days and the bubbly we ordered was chilled and ready in the fridge too. However the spare room upstairs/ladder was actualy really creepy! Plus I cant imagine anyone getting up and down that ladder safely we tried and it was awkward and scary. I wouldnt feel like to see kids trying it either.. The best thing about this place is the wildlife, we had a gorgeous lizzard come and pay us a visit, not shy at all! Also they have lots of movies available on the ps3 which was terrific, we watched alot.... All in all it was okay, maybe the bigger chalets are nicer but I think we would go somewhere else nextime.

Amazing!! Simply have to go!.Treat yourself!
Absolutely wonderful place! After a far too short weekend break at the mouses house we have most definitely fallen in love with the place! We stayed in sleeping beauty. The cabin is sumptuous, the surroundings are breathtaking and the whole place just oozes relaxation,self indulgence and romance. The surrounding bush walks and stunning views are well worth doing for scenery you will remember for a very long time, but if you're looking for a peaceful oasis to just relax, soak in the ambiance and unwind in your own private rainforest paradise, you cannot fault the mouses house! You will love the place!! p.s. the locals are very friendly too... as soon as you light the barbie you have your own private zoo coming for dinner!! We will definitely be back.. soon hopefully!
