We've just returned from an incredible 5 days here. The staff, food & villa itself was incredible! Nothing was a hassle for the staff, all very attentive & helpful. The property was immaculate & clean and the food delicious & healthy. By far the best villa resort on the island (Maybe even all of the Gili Islands?). Highly recommend.

Dissapointing
Given the extremely high price I really do not recommend this hotel. A plus point is Marie, the owner, kindly helped us a lot with getting to the island (all the fast boats were cancelled despite it being high season - bear this in mind if you’re planning on coming from Bali) which we really appreciated. She actually booked us flights and organised our boat which was above and beyond! However the website makes it seem like you’re getting 5 star luxury with your own private butler and concierge and this just isn’t true at all! Its almost laughable how far that is from the case. They’re almost setting themselves up for failure making promises for complete luxury and then failing to deliver.
Checkin process
Once we actually got to the villa we didn’t have the smoothest start. We arrived at 9pm and desperately wanted to just get to our room after a long day of travelling but we were told that we had to pay the bill immediately before seeing the room. The bill presented (before I had even put my bag down!) was for the wrong amount.
We noticed that they have put their prices up by about £30 each night since we booked. After trying to explain that it was not the rate we agreed on (the staff’s English isn’t the best) we asked if we could just deal with this the next day as we were tired and asked if we might even be able to see the room and have some water before being demanded to pay straight up. After much back and forth they agreed.
The room
The room itself is decorated beautifully but is set back from the beach and pool, a lot of other hotels on the island have rooms right on the beach which would be nicer. Also there is no kettle, iron, hair dryer or private balcony. The balconies are one shared between two rooms. Also just a little thing but there is no moisturiser and we ran out of hand soap and had to hunt down the staff to get a refill.
The food
I was really excited about the food in the villa having read the menu on the website. Unfortunately although the menu makes it sound lovely in reality the food was average to poor. They don’t have much of what is on the menu and what they do have is often substituted without warning and you get something you weren’t expecting! For example the sour dough bread the steak sandwich comes in is actually just plain cheap white bread and the many of the dishes missed key ingredients.
I really don’t recommend the dinners - we tried it once and half of the set menu courses didn’t even arrive! We had the Indonesian set menu. The staff were a bit confused when we asked if the other courses were coming and in the end they said they weren’t but they could knock £3 off the bill - not exactly five star dining as the website suggests. The quality of the dinner food wasn’t nice. We had one chicken curry and one fish curry and we couldn’t even eat the fish one and picked around the chicken one. After looking on trip advisor we found The Marahana just five minutes stroll away which was much much better for dinner. Also they didn’t have any wine by the glass or any rum at all, so they couldn’t make many of their cocktails and so the drinks were really limited.
The website lists a breakfast menu that is just complete fiction! You don’t get a choice on breakfast meal, it’s just whatever the ‘chef’ chooses and you don’t even get to chose what juice to have! And they only have black tea (no earl grey sadly for me!) and only instant coffee, no lattes of expresso etc). I wouldn’t mind this at all if they didn’t give the impression that it was going to be completely different to this on the website!
House keeping
The house keeping staff don’t clean the room. They make the bed but leave the towels where we left them and don’t clean the toilet or bathroom. Most worryingly of all I found the house keepings air freshener in my closed suitcase!! ( see photo). Nothing was missing but I don’t see any reason for them going in my suitcase at all!!!
The staff
On the whole the staff were really nice, I forget his name but the person who started just a month ago was lovely. Also there are some nice touches such as the staff trying to remember your names, though they got my boyfriends name wrong... almost better to not try then get it wrong! But the staff’s grasp of English isn’t great. We really struggled when we had to pay and in the end had to call the Australian owner who wasn’t at the hotel to pay. Given the incompetence of the staff when we went to pay we realised when we were back at home that we actually got charged 5 times from the hotel and then had to deal with the bank and call back and forth to Indonesia when we got back to the UK to sort this out. Not good!
Also we found that the staff were sometimes quite rude! For example having set my towel and bag on a sun-lounger, I quickly went to the room as I forgot to get my book and when I returned Herman, one of the staff, was moving my stuff on to a table so another guest could use the sun longer. I was quite shocked (I had literally been gone for 30 seconds!) and then asked if I could sit on the couple of beds on the beach and if they could put the umbrella up and he just said no it’s too windy and then walked off shouting something in Indonesian to another staff member clearly about me - so rude!
It’s also a shame that the staff didn’t tell us any basic information about the island. For example they only told us after we asked a few days in about when the best time is to go snorkelling to see turtles. We must have tried about 10 times and didn’t see any sadly.
Given the staff’s English isn’t the best, it would be useful to have a little book explaining when breakfast is on and basic things like the WiFi password. We also didn’t know they there was filtered water we could access until a few days in. Having it all written down would be useful.
Location
Bear in mind that there is really really loud music coming from bar right on top of hotel and when that stops you can hear the music loud and clear from Gili T. I’m not a light sleeper and even the earplugs they give you don’t drown it out.
The Villa itself is decorated nicely but the outside areas could do with some attention. The pool is a little tired and some of the tiles are stained and discoloured. Also the beach is full of sharp coral and limited sand and is so dirty that your feet get black just from walking around for five minutes. The island’s harbour is right outside the hotel and so you can’t swim in the sea easily at all near the hotel as there are so many boats around. Also being on the harbour means literally hundreds of people are walking through your little section of the beach every day (all the day trippers from Gili T and new arrivals).
Overall I think that the stay was fine but given the price and the false promises laid out on the website I can’t whole heartedly recommend the Villa. We were so looking forward to our stay and it was absolutely not what was advertised. I most definitely won’t be returning.

Precioso hotel en primera línea de playa en la isla de Gili Meno. Construcción y decoración preciosas
Las habitaciones muy amplias con todo tipo de decoración y detalles con mucho gusto y estilo.
Pero lo mejor del hotel es su servicio personalizado.
Te hacen sentir como si estuvieran en casa; amables, simpáticos, deseosos de satisfacer todas tus necesidades.
La comida la hacen para tí; por cierto excelente.
Súper recomendable.
Un lujo y un placer haber disfrutado de este hotel.

A paradise created by an incredible woman with style
The islands off the north coast of Lombok are quite beautiful. Stunning sunsets and coral reefs. Villa Pulau Cinta is undoubtedly the most exquisite built predominately from 200year old reclaimed Javanese homes with a tasteful modern twist. The staff are extremely kind and helpful with food that just keeps you from adventuring the island. A perfect place to call home and share the owners creative style. A dream they share with the world. You will dream of returning and if you don’t, well we all love with regret of some kind!

Luxury Home Away from Home
My husband and I stayed at Villa Pulau Cinta during our honeymoon and it ended up being our favorite accomodation out of our entire 3 week itinerary! The Villa is located on Gili Meno (the middle of the 3 Gili Islands) which was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation for our romantic getaway. It is a small island (you can walk the beachside loop around the island in less than 1 hour). Gili Meno is also known for its snorkeling- we had an amazing reef with coral, fish, and turtles right in front of the villa! We were lucky and ended up being the only guests staying at Villa Pulau Cinta, so it felt like we were in our own (luxurious) home including a team of our own staff to cater to our every need. Every morning Ida cooked us an amazing breakfast which was served poolside overlooking the beach. We filled our days with activities, either at the villa or on the island, including swimming in the pool, playing volleyball, snorkeling, biking, playing billiards, scuba diving, and horseback riding! Ida (the chef) is always ready to cook up something amazing for lunch, dinner, or snacks whenever you want. They also have a bar with a delicious cocktail list which is perfect for drinks on the beach or in the pool. And we can`t forget about the massive cinema room with hundreds of the latest movies to choose from! We also made a trip over to Gili T for dinner and the sunset and the staff arranged a private boat to take us from the beach right in front of the villa over to the next island.
If you are in the Gili Islands, there is no better place to stay than Villa Pulau Cinta. You really feel at home in the beautiful Indonesian villa and living space while also feeling completely taken care of as a guest. Enjoy!

Found my paradise here
Staying here was like finding paradise on earth. This hotel is absolutely exceptional and literally have no faults to it. The staff were amazing- extremely friendly and felt like we were at home on a beautiful island. Extremely accommodating with all our needs. The chef, Ida, cooked amazing food according to what kinds of food we wanted to eat even off the menu. The whole villa is beautifully designed and in the perfect location on the island. Could not have had a better place to stay, would recommend this place to everyone!

We did not want to leave, it felt like home.
From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed, the staff are amazing, nothing was too much trouble, they got us anything we wanted that was available. The rooms were amazing, and sharing with other guest was not an issue as there is so much room for everyone. The quality of this property was 5* but homely and so relaxing. The sunsets on the private daybed or beanbags were so great. We found out so much about what has gone into the making of the property, that we will be returning in January 2018 for a friends 50th there. I cant wait to see how much more the property has grown on our return.
