Jason's condo is clean and well equipped with comfortable furniture and beds. The kitchen has everything you need, the towels are of excellent quality and the bedding for the master is very nice. However the decor is getting tired. We were met upon arrival by the Property Manager Carlos who was wonderful and always available and helpful if we had any issues, as was the owner Jason. The Neek Khan complex is very well maintained and the pool is always sparkling. The property is heavily treed which keeps it very shady. Building A where this unit is located backs onto a very busy street which can be noisy at times. The shared WIFI gets sketchy on a regular basis. We enjoyed touring the Yucatan area very much.

Neek Kaan Condos in Progreso, Yucatan, Mexico are nice, jungle like setting, great pool, close to the beach, buses and taxis right in front of the condo. Easy to get to the center of Progreso where the restaurants, shops and the malecon (beach front walkway) are located as well as to the center of Chicxulub with restaurants and shops. There is a restaurant with beer within 2 blocks, great old man owner, so sweet. A small store a few places down and 2 larger convenience stores about 5 blocks away. There are bicycle vendors that comes by daily selling bread, sweets, pizza and sandwiches. Good and cheap. They will ring a bell, or honk a horn on their bikes and also some yells out Pan or Potatoes, depends on what they are selling. Soccer games are held at the park next to the parking lot for the condos. Fun to watch. I enjoyed my 3 month stay and was sad to have to leave :(

It will be nice to have a ceiling fan in the room. Love been close to the beach! And easy and convenient to go to downtown progreso and chixulub!

At first I must say my boys were a bit concerned, because we had no TV (tons of DVD movies to watch though), but quickly forgot what TV was. The beach and pool are steps away 😬. We adapted quickly and were on the bus (.17 cents) back and fourth into Town. Carlos who is in charge of managing rental is an Amazing man. Extremely trustworthy, and helpful with guiding you. We loved it!!!!!!

First off, Jason (who owns the place) is about the best person to rent from you ever saw. Easy communication, makes himself available, etc. Can't say enough good things about him. The condo is as described, right off the pool and steps from the beach. The condo itself is fine but it has seen better days. It's very sparsely decorated and everything is old. There is a TV, but it is only hooked up to a dvd player. Jason has a ton of dvd's, but you aren't going to get CNN, ESPN, or any other broadcast, for that matter. Since the town of Progreso rolls up the sidewalks at night, it's something you need to know. That said, everything else you may need is provided. There are plenty of towels, including beach towels. Other linens as well. The kitchen has everything you'd need to make as many meals as you may want (we cooked there once ourselves). The wi-fi provided by the condo complex doesn't work inside the unit itself, but there is patio seating right outside the back door where it works great. One thing to note is this. We did not have any issues with mosquitoes anywhere in Progreso except at the pool. There, they were fierce. Don't go outside without bug spray. Don't take that too strongly though. We would rent the place again, and I'd recommend it to friends.

Departamento sencillo, buena atención por parte de dueño y administrador, cerca de la playa pero esta descuidado el acceso, tienes que ir a la playa cercana al muelle y requieres tomar taxi o rentar auto, Progreso es un pueblo agradable y tranquilo ideal para desconectarse de la rutina y el estrés.

I am late in this review, but it really was just like the others, very good service all along. We were in contact with Jason a number of times with questions about the area and he was always very fast and informative with his response. Carlos was there to meet us within 5 minutes of arrival without a confirmed time which was nice, he was very kind, helpful, and professional. The town in a well positioned kind of sleepy beach town, we walked from the condo down the beach into town regularly so we didn't need to worry about having too many maragritas. The grocery store is well equipped with cheap everything, I would bring my own coffee next time though, couldn't find the quality I like. Very friendly locals, good food and service (Los Pelicanos on the Malecon was our favourite, and a taco shop by the town square-forget the name now) The condo was just what we were expecting, well equipped, not luxurious but totally comfortable and all you need for a holiday rental. The grounds are really nice and the pool was always quiet since people are out touring. I met some other Canadian retirees who live there permanently but that's about it. We rented a car but really didn't need it, the bus to Merida is about 1.50, take 1/2 hour and has air conditioning. There is also a little bus that goes downtown if you don't want to walk the 10-15 minutes,cost about 20 cents. All in all, a really good vacation, the value of the condo was great. Progresso isn't for everybody, people who are into resort style enclaves probably would be better off to stick to Cancun, but if you want an authentic, scenic, sort of gritty, seaside town within an hour of everything I'd recommend. I would like to go back again and spent quite a bit of time talking to the Canadians retired there, and they love it!

This was a great place to stay at. Progreso is a nice lazy fishing village at the tip of the Mexican state of Yucatan. It was a great place for our kids to hang out in the pool with comfortable accommodations. The beach is just a short walk down the road. If you like searching for shells, it is basically untouched (My daughter went crazy). The beach itself is not wide and a bit rocky the first few feet to get into it. However, it is shallow for about 100 meters or so out and wonderful warm water. From the beach you can watch the sunset in the evening. Progreso itself is not a destination really. Downtown is just okay. There are many things to do within 2 hours of time and Merida is only 20 minutes away. There are several supermarkets in town to bring drinks and food in. If you are looking for a great, relaxing place that feels like authentic Mexico, this is a great place to stay and visit. The site manager, Carlos, is a great guy and Jason, the owner, keeps on top of things. We would definitely return.

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo. We had no worries about anything. The experience and service were great. The home is perfect for a family of 4 (or 2 families of 2). It was very quiet and there were few others around. We often had the pool all to ourselves. The house had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. Of all our rentals, this was the first one that provided written directions to various appliances and other important information. Loved that when using the washing machine! The other great thing about this rental was the caretaker. He was extremely kind and helpful. He spent a fair amount of time with us and made us feel extremely welcome. Prior to renting, the booking process was easy and attentive. And it was nice to make one final contact before arriving (for peace of mind). As for the location (we did have a car) we felt it was good. Out of the city noise, but easy to get to. The beach was in need of some help, but that is out of the area residents control (hope the government starts working on this soon!). In the end, we spent most of our time in the pool, so it was fine. Before I forget, the air conditioning worked wonderfully and the internet service was perfect. One of the least stressful rentals we have had in Mexico (this was our 4th).

We really liked the easy access from condo to boardwalk in the complex and lovely pool, as well as mid-way location between Progreso and Chuxchelub great seafood restaurants and amenities, both of which are accessible walking on the beach shore only one block from Neek Kaan. Well-equipped open concept kitchen, comfortable master bedroom and living room. Day trips to cultural events in Merida and Mayan ruins are another bonus. Very good value!
