Miguel's communication was very good before we arrived and on arrival.
The villa is set in Santa Barbara. The villa's best features are the outside areas, with a good BBQ area and Pool.
Inside the villa, the upper areas are spacious and comfortable.
There is one bathroom and toilet, so a little limiting. The bath was not working and the shower nozzle that is used in the bath could be replaced. The bedrooms were spacious enough with good storage. Miguel - your guests would benefit from you replacing the bedding, as it is old and stained and not sufficient for a 10 day stay (just feedback).
In Santa Barbara, there is a tapas bar (Bar Deportivo) 30 seconds walk from the property and a further tapas bar, restaurant and supermarket, within 3-4 minutes walk.
Icod centre is approximately 15-20 minutes walk away, all down hill. The hills are very steep. There is a regular taxi supply from the centre of Icod and costs only 3.15 euros.
The best restaurant we visited was El Frenazo, Santa Barbara, Icod. It is where to go in Tenerife if you appreciate meat!!! They only serve fresh meats, which means that some things can be off the menu. It is very popular with locals. Miguel recommended it on the night of our arrival. We were not disappointed. It is quality produce, regardless of where you live and your expectation. It is also fabulous value for money and very generous portions. The Beef Chop (T-Bone Steak) is HUGE. The sirloin steaks are also excellent and around 10 oz in portion. An example on one of the evenings we ate there... 1) Bread, 2 starters (roasted cheese/soup), 2 sirloin steaks, 1 pork steak, 1 mixed salad, 1 fried local fish (frozen), 2 children's plates, 2 desserts, 4 beers, 2 x carafes of wine, water - around 70 euros. It is packed with locals and has a great atmosphere.
Late November (last weekend) is a Public holiday. In the weeks build up, there is a carnival atmosphere in Icod and a great time to visit. Streets are full with families in the cobbled centre, eating street cooked BBQ Pork steaks, roasted chestnuts and the main attraction being the road racing of wooden carts down-hill... very entertaining.
