Our first ever trip to Afrika went to Kenya and Villa Shaanti in Diani Beach. To sum it up, words like paradise and angels comes up to mind.
We expected much after all the pictures and written things about Villa Shaanti, but the house and its staff, far exceeded our expectations. It’s so much positive we can write about the place, but to keep this from becoming a short book, we will stick to the most important parts for us.
First of all, the house and the property are marvellous! Pure luxury and everything are so well kept and put together like it is done by the best interior architect around. We were all overwhelmed by this when we first arrived.
And when we first arrived at the house, we where met by two of the most fantastic people we have ever met in our travels. Ben the manager and Joyce the housekeeper. We don’t know where to start, but they were so fantastic all through our stay. It seemed they could not do enough for us. Ben where there all the time, but at the same time not (kept our privacy). He helped us with whatever we needed, from arranging bookings, gave us information, arranged transport and much, much more. Ben is a fantastic representative of Villa Shaanti, I think we all fell a bit in love with him 😊
Same with Joyce. Such a nice lady, greeting us with hot towels, sparkling wine when we arrived, with a big smile. She kept the house in pristine order, washed our clothes (even ironed), changed the beds (every day I think) and so on, always smiling.
And finally, Mossa. Our ever smiling Masai guard that kept watch, placed lanterns around the pool and made the place so cosy every night.
We can also mention Paul our driver, Michael our chef and last but not least John our safari diver. The all gave us a fantastic stay and service all the time. Our safari trip with John to Tsavo East deserves its own review, but in short words, fantastic and incredible!
Finally, to our hostess and owner of Villa Shaanti, Torunn. The most informative and service minded hostess you can ever imagine. We had so many questions before we left for Kenya, and every time we sent her questions, it only took a minute or two to get supplementary answers back form her. She organized everything for us before our stay in Kenya. The experience would not have been the same without her service, the fantastic house she rents out and organisation. We can’t thank her enough for this.
So, to everyone that are considering renting Villa Shaanti, we can in any way warmly recommend it and we are very sure you will love it to.
Finally, to Ben, Joyce, Mossa, Torunn and everyone else, asante sana for making our stay a memory for life. We will never forget this trip.
