We have always stayed at West Bay Village for the last 8 years. This house needs a lot of work. All appliances need to be updated badly. Some stuff did not even work. There was no dressers in one of the rooms. It was all around bad. Very few dishes. Small refrigerator. The owners need to upgrade badly and spend some money. No air conditioning in living room and kitchen. Only in each bedroom, and one went out and had to be replaced on the second night. We were there 7 days and power was out 5 nights. The owners of all units need to put in a generator. One house has one.

This was the ideal stay for our family. We have 12 and 14 year old boys. There were so many positives I don't know where to start. We stayed on the upper level *Best area to stay on beach...with pretty much a private beach on the main beach *2 bedrooms -1 king and 2 twins- nice sized with air conditioning *Kitchen with appliances, refrigerator, oven, stove,coffee maker, etc *Pretty newly furnished bathroom *Ruth, Brad, and Shanna the property managers were super helpful and made our stay super comfortable. Were available to answer any questions. Shanna met us when we got there and showed us the ropes. *They also set up the transportation for us to and from airport. Marty our driver took us to Edmonds the local grocery store to shop for our place. It was perfect! *Marty also took us on a 1/2 day tour of the island...To the Sloth Sanctuary where we saw great Sloths, monkeys, and parrots. We also went to South Shore Zip lining...definitely a favorite! *Right outside of our place, the water taxi's are lined up to take us to West End. *We always used Andy, Captain of Island Princess. He was fun, so great with my kids, and honest. We decided to let him take us on a day trip to other parts of the island and do some different snorkeling. He took us to the local village of Punta Gorda...also a favorite. We got to see how the locals celebrate and relax on a Sunday and had some great food! *We enjoyed going to Inifinity Bay Hotel , next door, for drinks at night. The bartender Ziggy was awesome! *Some other places in West Bay for recommendations since Monkey La La is so central...Bananarama, Bleachers, Argentina Grille, and Bite on the Beach, were favorites for food and drinks...all vegetarian friendly. *The Banana Doughnut man is a must...he walks a long the beach daily in the afternoons. *Some things to be aware of but totally not a big deal..it's just island life....electricity went off a couple days....we were at the beach or went to the hotel...so not a big deal. Cannot put toilet paper in the toilets...which is most of Central America. Lots of sand fleas and mosquitos...just come prepared with repellents....not so much at the rental but when you go out to restaurants, etc. *Some recs for West End ..a 10 minute water taxi ride from our place....Sundowners for drinks and food...there is a "Playground" sail boat you can jump into the water from...my kids played for hours on this; Calelu's for breakfast...delish! Palapa Papas was fun too..there is a launch pad ...pricey I thought though but kids had fun. *West bay Divers was awesome for our first time going scuba diving...Kieran and Alexis were so patient with us. My younger son backed out after the lesson and I panicked after going down for the first time. Kieran and Alexis were so caring and great. Zack, the owner charged us accordingly which was really nice. Ari, my younger son was still able to snorkel. *The best snorkeling was right in front of us...we saw a turtle, and eagle ray, and a beracuda! I cannot say enough. We are already making plans to go back and we have been home only 2 days!

Our week at the Monkey Lala Upper couldn't have been better!! The accommodations were exactly as described and very comfortable. They had beach towels, sunscreen, books, games and even a hair dryer. All we had to do was unpack and relax. The management company staff was very responsive to requests and even helped make recommendations for activities and transportation. The beach was steps away from the house and had plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We were not disappointed by Monkey Lala and can't wait to visit again!

We stayed at both Monkey La La and Mary's Place. Monkey La La was great, I traveled with my daughter, mother and girlfriend and had no complaints.

My husband and I went to Roatan for a "date-cation" and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay! Monkey La La was cute and clean. I loved the front porch for breakfast and walking the sandy path to the beach. Ryan was great to work with and our driver that picked us up at the airport was great. We would definitely stay here again!

The "upper" apartment of the Monkey Lala House is everything that we could have wanted in a vacation beach house! The decor is very tasteful and relaxing (rather than some "beach" themed decor that can be absolutely dreadful in some beach houses!!). The king bed is so comfortable, the AC in the bedroom works great, great bathroom. Combine the ceiling fans all over the house, being upstairs on the second level, and opening the beautiful barn doors to the porch and you are sure to catch a good breeze. The house is in a excellent location (within a short walking distance to the beach, stores, a great spa, and excellent restaurants) and don't let this house not being on the beachfront keep you from staying there. It's still so close that you can skip back to the house from the beach whenever you'd like. Honestly though, my favorite part about this house was pleasant little surprises of everything we wanted or needed already being there - water bottles, ice packs, matches, books, games, beach towels, tupperware, mosquito repelling incense, even cooking spices! If you plan on doing any cooking, which we did, the kitchen is well stocked with any item you might need, including good knives, serving platters, pitchers, everything. Thank you for a great stay where I didn't have to worry about anything!

Hola, yo estuve hospedada en Monkey Lala Upper, es una casa adorable, cómoda y muy linda, tiene todas las comodidades para sentirte en casa, la ubicación es excelente a unos pasos de la playa, toda la gente es muy amable y atenta, Dolores la camarista es muy amable, Ryan mi concierge es muy atento y simpático me ayudo mucho, yo tuve una gran experiencia con todos ellos y los recuerdo con mucho cariño, definitivamente espero volver pronto. We Loved the Monkey La La house. A very unique location as it's tucked away down a beautiful path surrounded by palms and a variety of flowering shrubs. Felt like we were in our own little neighborhood. We arrived the end of April so it was extremely quiet even though two large hotels are nearby. Just steps away from the most beautiful beach. Loved having our own house vs a hotel, we were able to cook some of our meals but mostly we had a very private balcony that we enjoyed. We love west bay, the snorkling is amazing, walking distance to restaruants and just a short water taxi ride to west end. Tours and excursions are easily available by local vendors. The local people are so gracious and sweet. Love coming to Roatan. Monkey La La was just what we were looking for. Thanks

The house was a dream !! Much better than what we imagined from pictures at the web site. Comfortable, well provided, decorated with taste and lots of local pieces of art and crafts. Thoughtful owners expected us with very much appreciated gifts upon arrival, thanks guys for the beautiful flowers and the cold Barenas!!!!. Definitely we will recommend the Monkey Lala as "the place" to stay when visiting Roatan. Way much better than one of the resorts or condo´s next door.

We are here now and it couldn't be any better!! Great location and great beach!! Great beach house!! Close to everything but still plenty of privacy. Clean and comfortable. Would defiantly recommend and already planning to come back!!
